i think the thing that bugs me most about there being a cruella deville character in twst is that 101 dalmations isnt... a fairy tale. it’s a book from 1956. its so weird and all i can think of is ‘what would dodie smith think of this.’ i mean she’d probably be cool with it considering how batshit anything else related to 101d is but still

#yeah no its an unspoken rule of the universe that if you make a sequel to a 101d adaptation it has so be on so much crack #101 dalmations 2: patch's london adventure? patch is hanging out with a delusional movie star and cruella deville has fallen in love with an #artist who only paints abstract paintings of black and white spots and she kidnaps the puppies to serve as his muse #102 dalmations? its about cruella's probation officer who happens to own one of the grown pups from the first movie and one of the main arcs #is about HIS puppy coming into her own bc shes insecure about not having spots. this is the live action movie yes. no the dogs do not talk #but the parrot that thinks its a dog is and its voiced by eric idle #and i havent even touched what cruella has been up to and thats even wilder #and what does this have to do with dodie smith herself you ask? she was long dead by these i hear you say. oh worry not worry not #she wrote a sequel to the book #its called the starlight barking and i cant possibly do it justice in the tags of a twst ramble post so please google it #you wont regret it its fucking wild #oh this isn't a twst crit post btw this is me thinking out loud
