The sound of pitter patter filled the quiet room— the light drizzle added to the serene atmosphere in Joe's dorm room. It was a week before finals and you and Joe were cramming all the remaining knowledge in your heads, it has become tradition at this point for you two to study for every exam together.
You and Joe are in your senior year of college in LSU which means it's your final year— with Joe being a potential first draft pick for the NFL and you being offered an a position at the job you've always dreamed of; you could say that the pressure was you and Joe's companion as of late— which is why you and the quarterback were at his dorm on a Saturday... studying.
Once you arrived at your boyfriend's dorm you two immediately settled in on the couch, textbooks and notebooks spread across the coffee table. A few hours into a comfortable silence of studying, Joe couldn't help but stare at you— the soft glow of the desk lamp illuminated your focused expression as you delved into your studies. Joe couldn't help but admire the way you attacked your homework and revisions with determination, your intelligence and diligence shining through.
As the night wore on, the ambiance shifted from the buzzing productivity of study to the warm comfort of shared silence. The hum of fluorescent lights outside was replaced by the soft rustle of pages turning and the occasional tap of a pen.
Eventually, the weight of studying bore down, and your exhaustion caught up with you. You shifted closer, nestling against Joe on the couch— as if there was a magnet pulling you to him. Before he knew it, your eyes fluttered closed, and the rhythmic sound of your breathing indicated the onset of sleep.
As you nestled against your boyfriend on the couch, your soft breaths creating a gentle rhythm, Joe couldn't help but marvel at the serenity that enveloped the room. The sight of your peaceful slumber filled Joe with a sense of contentment, and the quarterback found himself lost in a whirlwind of emotions. Joe's heart swelled with affection as he watched you rest peacefully. Your presence brought a calming energy that washed over him, and he couldn't resist stealing glances at you peaceful form as you slept soundly.
The soft glow of the lamp highlighted your delicate features, and a sense of tranquility settled over the room. In that moment, Joe couldn't help but think about how lucky he was to have you by his side.
In that moment, everything else faded into the background. The textbooks and assignments scattered on the coffee table became insignificant, and Joe's focus shifted entirely to you. The soft glow of the lamp illuminated your features, casting delicate shadows across your face, and Joe was struck by the ethereal beauty you emanated even in your most vulnerable state.
As the minutes ticked by, Joe felt a surge of protectiveness wash over him, an instinctual urge to shield you from any potential disruption— when a roar of thunder echoed from the outside he carefully covered your ears, when his phone dinged with notification he turned his phone off as he tightened his hold on you; carefully fixing you position on on his lap.
So when the door burst open and Joe's friends barged in, their boisterous laughter and animated chatter shattered the tranquility that had settled over them— Joe's face immediately turned sour, a glare was gracing his then gentle features as he looked at his friends, deadpan. Joe watched with a mix of dismay and determination as you stirred from your slumber, peaceful expression momentarily marred by the intrusion.
"Shh... shh, you're okay." Joe coos as he watched you bury your face further into the crook of his neck, sleep taking over you again.
Once Joe had made sure that you were fast asleep once more— without a second thought, "Hey, guys, seriously, can you keep it down? Y/N is sleeping." he intervened, Joe's voice firm as he urged his friends to lower their voices and respect the sanctity of the moment.
As if his Joe's stern voice echoed through their souls— they immediately turned to the quarterback who dorm they trespassed. Taking notice of the figure curled on his lap that was softly breathing, they instantly stopped their chatter.
"Oh, sorry, man. We didn't realize she was here. We'll be quiet." one of them said as the rest of them finally settled at the other end of the couch, their conversation now in their inside voices as opposed to the almost yelling match they had not long ago.
"Appreciate it. She had a long day, and I just got her to sleep. Don't want to disturb that." Joe appreciated his friends' efforts to keep you asleep.
"Sorry again, man. But we all know Y/N— no offense but she sleeps like the dead and the only person who could only seem to wake her up is you." one of Joe's friends joined the conversation as they all snickered, as they watched you and Joe.
"Sleeping Beauty only wakes for her Prince." one said earning a smirk back from Joe as he continued to watch your peaceful figure.
It was as if an invisible barrier had formed around them, and Joe was fiercely determined to preserve the peace that had settled over you. His friends, sensing the gravity of the situation, acquiesced, and as the room once again lapsed into a tranquil quiet, he felt a profound sense of satisfaction.
In that fleeting moment, Joe had been entrusted with your tranquility, and he vowed to safeguard it with unwavering determination.
Joe placed a soft kiss on your forehead making you nestle against your boyfriend once more, a subtle smile gracing your lips, Joe knew that he would go to great lengths to ensure that nothing disturbed you ever again. This unexpected interlude had illuminated the depths of Joe's feelings for you, and as he gazed back down at your sleeping form, Joe silently vowed to cherish and protect you with every fiber of his being.

What are best betting strategies in 12bet for beginners ?
If you are looking for online sports betting, you will find various articles on the basics, line reading and betting. You can also find some sites for advanced betting strategies and systems. However, there are sites that can help you from beginners to advanced techniques.
This site aims to fill that void. You will learn 11 simple sports betting strategies that anyone can use. Each of them is an important step in the development of the whole system, which will ultimately lead to profitable results.
1 - Start with small bets
Ordering books takes time. Of course, some players pick up a winning strategy faster than others, but even the best players learn. You can only bet on a limited number of sports, so don't make the mistake of betting on every event as you learn to win.
I started my sports betting career with a $22 bet. Most bets are only between $5 and $11. Today I would bet up to $11. I played part-time for about 20 years with varying degrees of success until I had enough.
I have used many different strategies over the years to help solve this problem but have yet to make any money from them. I lowered the price. The biggest thing I did was place most of my bets on individuals rather than bookies and bookies.
This eliminates labor costs and is a good low-stakes strategy. It takes only half an hour to set up at no charge. This strategy gets harder when you start aiming higher because you can't find people willing to lift and limit you.
When you start betting on sports, you decide how much you want for your investment. Remove it and use it only for sports betting. Divide that amount by 100 and don't bet more than that amount until you know how to improve your results.
You can make mistakes and using a small amount of money won't cost you much. This method also allows you to make a series of bets before you run out of money. The longer you stay in the game, the more likely you are to find a winning system.
2 - Focus on a small area
I'll talk about betting on your favorite teams in another chapter, but one mistake sports bettors make when betting on big games is often betting on things they know very little about.
You have a better chance of picking a winner if you focus
instead of betting everything. Focus on one sport instead of betting on NFL, MLB, NBA and NCAA games.
By focusing on a small area, you can gain knowledge that will help you pick winners. To be a successful bettor, you need to know as much as possible about the teams and players you are betting on. If you can collect and analyze more data from people than just posting series, you've reached a point where you can earn a solid income.
Specialization is the way to start. I understand that one of the reasons you want to bet on sports is to make the games more interesting, but to make the game more interesting you have to decide if you are willing to pay to lose the bet. increase your chances of success.
3 - Money line bet
Most sporting events have at least two different lines. One of the rules is to bet against the spread. A spread bet has points where one team wins a point and the other team gives a point.
Another common type of betting line is the money line. With a money line bet, you pick the team to win the match to win the bet. For money line bets, the winning amount is usually different from spread bets.
Compared to spread bets, they usually pay 11-10 or 110-100 when betting on either side of the match. Money betting in 12bet is something else. The extra money you need to bet what you can win on the spread is called a draw and that's how the bookies make their money.
There is also a screen for money line bets, but it is harder to see as the lines are laid out differently. Here is an example of a money bet limit and how it works.
This game has Nebraska at Penn State. The team with the plus sign, in this case Nebraska, is the underdog. +150 means if you bet $100 on Nebraska and they win the game, you get $100 back and win $150.
The favorite, in this case Penn State, has a negative number. This number means you need to bet enough to win $100. So you need to bet $170 to win $100 at Penn State.
When you start betting on sports, the difference can be used to pick the winner. Bookmakers are good at placing lines close to the final score, so it's hard to know which team will win by a margin.
But it's much easier to pick the team to beat. As the example shows, it is more expensive to buy a favorite, but it is still easier to pick a winner.
You can also look for underdogs that have a high chance of winning. If you can win more than you risk, you don't need to pick multiple winners to make a profit.
4 - Understand local bias
In all sports, the home team wins more than the visitors. The exact percentages vary by sport and season, but you'll see it in all sports. Most people know this from watching games, but few understand the public's attitude towards sports betting. You need to understand what home bias is and how it can affect your sports betting results.
Since the home team wins more often than the away team, many bettors give too much credit to the home team when determining the best bet. This is called local bias. While you should consider the home team's chances of winning, you can't count on them sitting at home too much when trying to pick the best team to bet on.
5 - Online shopping is profitable
If you only have one choice when betting on a sporting event, you need to decide which side of the bet is more likely to win. But if you have more options where to bet, you can compare the tips offered in different places.
Today you can bet with local bookies, multi-city bookies and hundreds of online bookies. You can use 12bet to earn more money over time.
You rate the games equally, but once you figure out which team should win, you can look at different bookies to get the best line. This applies to both spread betting and money limits.

Two poll thoughts: (a) though I have a vague impression I'd still love to know precisely WTF 'spread' means and (b) let's face it, the dude pool was cruelly hamstrung by Hound Guy's absence. As Cinder can attest people love some scarring & Grimm bits.
I'll try to keep this simple, but essentially "the spread" or "the line" is a term in sports betting for what is basically the margin of victory in a specific matchup. Let's start with an example from traditional sports:
The Dallas Cowboys NFL team has a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Since we live in an alternate universe where Jerry Jones isn't a colossal egotistical asshat and so the Cowboys are competently managed and the Eagles aren't Super Bowl runner-ups, the spread is Cowboys -7. What this means in general is that the bettors/sportsbooks favor the Cowboys to win by 7 points (the projected winner is always represented by a minus sign), or a touchdown. What this means for us, the people betting on the matchup, is that we have three relevant outcomes: the Cowboys win by more than 7, they win by less than 7, or they lose outright. Let's say we have bet on them to beat the spread. If they win by more than 7, we win. If they win by less than 7, they still win the game, of course, but we actually lose because they didn't win by enough - they beat their opponents, but didn't beat the spread. If they lose the match outright, we lose too, obviously.
This is different from a moneyline bet, where you just pick who you think will win or lose. In this example, if I picked the Cowboys to win, there would be no difference in my payout if they won by 6 or if they won by 60. They could perform worse than expected and scrape by with a win, and I'd still get my money because I picked the victor correctly. You can lose a spread bet and win a moneyline bet (the winning team performs worse than expected or the losing team performs better than expected, but the expected winner is still victorious) or vice versa (you pick the losing team to win and they don't, but they manage to cover the spread). Hell, you can hedge your bets so that you get paid with either result, though you need to make sure you get a high enough payout from a win to cover your initial investment.
Here's how I've been applying these concepts for the RWBY Hottest Character poll - I am not a Vegas bookie, so I've been just looking at the matchups, deciding who I think should win and by how much, and then checking the actual results and determining who beat the spread based on either how I think the site actually views the characters involved or just what seems funny at the moment. If, say, Blake was matched up against Pyrrha and I expected her to win with 60% of the vote, she beats the spread if she gets more than that. She will still move on if she wins with 55%, of course, but that might cause viewers to reevaluate her odds going forward because she didn't perform as well as she "should've" against her competition, at least for the sake of my shitposting narrative.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if I need to explain more thoroughly. Sports betting can get confusing.

Betting Strategy – Best Sports Betting Strategies
In the NBA one of the most well-known techniques is betting against the general population. There are enormous changes in the help for each group, and that implies chances can frequently get swelled in light of the public essentially betting on their top choices. Brilliant bettors use setting betting to find results in view of the earlier week’s exhibition. This actually intends that rather than basically taking the outcome from the earlier week, they conclude why it worked out. This could incorporate the sorts of scoring plays that happened, the players that were playing great, the kind of resistance, or even home-field advantage.
On the off chance that a group has won by 30, it doesn’t imply that they will do as such sometime later. You should consider then while choosing how to wager on NFL games all through the standard season and end of the season games straight up to the Super Bowl.

For instance, most top picks jump start with chances of basically chances +1000 or higher. They just have to begin moderately well for these chances to greatly decrease. It’s conceivable that after a decent first round, you can cash out to secure in a benefit before the competition closes.

A New Season on the Horizon: 2024 Packers Preview
As the Green Bay Packers gear up for the 2024 NFL season, there’s a mix of anticipation and curiosity among the fanbase and analysts alike. With changes on the roster, coaching strategies, and the draft, the upcoming season is shaping up to be an intriguing chapter in the storied franchise’s history.
Roster and Management Overhaul
The 2024 season is a pivotal year for the Packers, marking their 104th in the NFL, during a transformative period underscored by a significant roster overhaul and strategic front office moves. Under the guidance of general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur, the team is adapting to the post-Aaron Rodgers era with a focus on building a formidable defense and a dynamic offense.
The draft and trades have been instrumental in this transition, with the Packers bolstering their defensive line by acquiring young talents like Devonte Wyatt and Lukas Van Ness. On offense, the addition of running back Josh Jacobs in place of Aaron Jones signifies a shift in strategy, aiming to diversify the attack and support Jordan Love, who is cementing his role as the starting quarterback.
Financial Strategy and Player Development
The Packers’ approach to maintaining a competitive roster involves judicious salary cap management and strategic player development. This includes investing in potential through the draft and making calculated moves in free agency, such as signing Xavier McKinney to upgrade the secondary.
The development of key players, especially on defense and within the receiving corps, remains a priority. The Packers are also eyeing improvements in their safety positions, with the potential addition of recently released safety Justin Simmons to form a top-tier duo with McKinney, highlighting a proactive approach to strengthening the team’s defensive backbone.
Looking Ahead: Draft and Expectations
With the draft on the horizon, Green Bay’s strategy focuses on reinforcing the offensive line and enhancing defensive depth, considering prospects like Johnny “Jer’Zhan” Newton for his disruptive play. The team’s draft philosophy, coupled with the integration of newly acquired talents, is designed to address immediate needs while setting the stage for future success.  As the Packers navigate through these changes, the goal remains clear: to build a team capable of contending for the Super Bowl, leveraging both youth and experience to create a balanced and competitive squad.
In the sports betting world, the Packers NFL spread and NFL Draft betting have become hot topics among fans and bettors alike. These elements add an extra layer of excitement and anticipation to the pre-season discussions, as speculations run high on how the Packers will perform against the spread and which draft picks could make an immediate impact.
As the new season approaches, the Packers are at a crossroads, blending seasoned veterans with promising newcomers. The team’s success will largely depend on how well the new roster gels and whether the coaching staff can adapt the game plan to maximize the talents at their disposal.
Conclusion
As we look toward the horizon, the 2024 Green Bay Packers season emerges as not just a new chapter but a thrilling expedition filled with promise and potential challenges. This year, a dynamic blend of emerging talents and seasoned veterans forms the team’s core, setting the stage for a compelling narrative of ambition and resilience. The Packers, with their rich history and dedicated fanbase, stand on the cusp of another significant campaign, driven by the collective hope of advancing closer to the pinnacle of NFL glory.
The loyal supporters of Cheesehead Nation, ever passionate and hopeful, are set to embark on this journey, their eyes fixed on the unfolding saga, eagerly anticipating the triumphs and trials that lie ahead. This season holds the promise of writing a new storied chapter in the annals of the Packers as they strive with determination and spirit to achieve greatness.

NFL WildCard Round Reaction
youtube
1. Jared Goff Lives!!!
Detroit Lions 24-23 Los Angeles Rams
I may have picked the Rams to win 27-24 in this one, but I'm actually glad to have been wrong here, and the Lions get to keep thier cinderella season going for another week of playoff ball.
First I gotta give props to the job that the Lions did to stop the run.
Among my predictions, was that the Rams would rely heavily on Kyren Williams, and instead he had a measley 13 carries for 61 yards.
Instead this was a duel to see who could throw the ball and both teams gave a healthy amount of opportunities to multiple pass catchers, and really relied on thier passing game, and as I said in my prediction, that if it came down to which roster has more talent at a given position, the Lions would win out.
Congratulations to the city of Detroit, for thier years of dedication, they fully deserve to bask in this for a little.
youtube
2. A Sobering End To A Somber Season
Philadelphia Eagles 9- 32 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
You know, I really thought that just for one game, the Eagles defensive co-ordinators and thier db's alike, would get it together for long enough to win just one playoff game, against an opponent they should be better than.
Alas, I really did not understand/account for just how much better Tampa's recievers are than the Eagles db's. My prediction of a low scoring 21-17 victory for the Birds, was but mere fodder to the NFL gods.
Tampa scored a touchdown via rookie reciever Trey Palmer to take a 25-9 lead, the game was over.
Sad how this season unfolded for the Eagles.
Jalen Hurts was valiant but playing from behind from s early in the game meant he was never going to get a chance to play his game and allow the Eagles to establish the run, instead he threw the ball 35 times for 250 yards.
It wasn't what many would have hoped for but the Eagles are back to the drawing board and in desparate need of someone who can fix that defense.
Tumblr media
3. Frozen Tuna
Kansas City Chiefs 26-7 Miami Dolphins
Outside of how big of a lead the Chiefs were able to build, this game went pretty much the way I expected and Miami have to wear the hat of being the warm weather team that can't go on the road in the cold come January.
I expect Chris Broussard to bring out the break dancers come Monday night.
My score predictions was the Chiefs winning 21-17, so I am not to unhappy about my accuracy there.
What I will say, is that in the next round, unless the Steelers pull off the mother of all upsets, the Chiefs are actually going to have to play a team with healthy recievers, a real quarterback and in all likelihood have to go on the road.
Well done Kansas, but a tougher test awaits next weekend.
Tumblr media
4. The Bills And The Balance
Buffalo Bills 31-17 Pittsburgh Steelers
This went pretty much how I expected, and I had the score almost exactly.
Originially, this game was meant to be played on Saturday, but due to weather conditions that literally looked like Sylvester Stallone's "Detox".
The Steelers offense was never going to give them a shot at competing against a Buffalo Bills team that seem to have perfected the art of balance at just the right time, and while James Cook's 78 yards on 18 carries doesn't jump out as a stat, it's a very necessary part of this Bills offense.
Josh Allen was great today, and he spread the ball around, threw to 7 different teammates, and even when the Steelers looked like they were mounting a comeback, the Bills offense killed that off with Khalil Shakir's touchdown.
All well and good, but next weekend, the Bills will be at home to Kansas City, and that will be the real litmus test for thier season.
youtube
5. Above The Clouds, CJ Stroud
Cleveland Browns 14-45 Houston Texans
This to me, is the biggest upset of the weekend and as good as the Browns were in the regular season, this will feel lie a big time let down because of how they lost, and my prediction of a 27-20 win for the Brown couldn't have been more off.
First off, I think a healthy chunk of blame should go to defenseive co-ordinator Jim Schwartz, he did not read the scouting report on CJ Stroud, gave the Texans wide recievers single high safety and man-coverage on key downs.
Then there was the absolutely aenimic performance by Browns qb Joe Flacco, and to be fair, long time NFL fans would have seen that coming, and that his rejuvination could not hold up forever.
But the biggest reason the Browns lost is because CJ Stroud is a legitimate NFL quarterback, point blank, end of story. This guy is showing a lot of signs of being next in that Mahomes/Rodgers tier, as far as his throwing ability.
CJ Stroud has arrived.
Tumblr media
6. Aaron Who?
Dallas Cowboys 32-48 Green Bay Packers
While I am more upset about the Browns, this result is the one that would have lead the sports talk shows on Monday and what I first predicted would be a 34-27 win for the Cowboys, has turned out to be the most facrica and shambolic of all the weekend's results.
The Dallas Cowboys are a ship with no paddle. A rudderless vagabond wondering through the sands of time.
As far as the Packers are concerned, my only question is "Aaron who?".
Aaron Jones, that is. 3 touchdowns, 118 yards on 21 carries and the Packers rusher had himself a momentous day, at times making the Dallas Cowboys defense look undersized, as was pointed out by Richard Sherman on Undisputed.
However this will be remembered as Jordan Love's announcement on the national stage and 3 touchdowns, 272 yards on just 21 pass attempts, is the type of thing that represents a building block for the Packers future.
The Packers will go on to face the 9ers next week, but Dallas will provide the offseason's annual comedy.

[ad_1] We're down to the final week of the 2023 NFL regular season, and the notion of "any given Sunday" couldn't be more in play. Some contenders are prepared to rest key starters. He'll be going up against a Texans defense that's surrendered the seventh-most pass yards in the NFL this year. Minshew took advantage of that in Week 3 in a Colts win over the Texans where he completed 82.6% of his passes. That was actually the game where Anthony Richardson went down, which set the stage for Minshew to become the starter for the rest of the season. The Colts are 6-0 this season when Minshew doesn't throw an interception, so if he can dice up the Texans' secondary while playing smart football, then you have to like Indy's chances."CBS Sports' John Breech likes the home team to prevail in a close one here. Walker is good enough to even execute against this defense. Now that it's Jeff Driskel starting for the Browns, I'm a little interested in Cleveland, oddly enough. If you're keeping this a low-scoring game, you're up against the Bengals, who just got eliminated; this could be a letdown spot for them, being ready for the offseason. So I wanna wait to see where the line ends, but even at +7, with Jeff Driskel at quarterback, I like Cleveland."SportsLine expert R.J. White doesn't think the Browns should be counted out even with Joe Flacco resting for the playoffs. Catch more of his analysis, plus other Week 18 bets, on the "Pick Six NFL Podcast."Vikings at LionsTime: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)   Open: Lions -3.5, O/U 44 The SportsLine projection model simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, and it's up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters Week 18 of the 2023 NFL season on a 181-129 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates to the 2017 season. We can tell you the model backs one of these NFC North rivals in almost 60% of simulations, but you'll have to head over to SportsLine to get the full ATS breakdown and prediction. Jaguars at TitansTime: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS), stream on Paramount+ (click here)  Open: Jaguars -3, O/U 41 "The Titans are 0-5 ATS and 0-5 SU vs. divisional opponents this year, are coming off of a matchup in which they scored just three points and recorded 187 yards of total offense and quarterback Will Levis is banged up. Sure, Mike Vrabel could rally the troops and play spoiler, but the Jags need this win to clinch the division. It's a big deal. Trevor Lawrence is dealing with a shoulder injury, but I fully expect him to suit up. The Titans and Jags last played back in November, with Jacksonville winning, 34-14. The game was never close, as the Jags scored the first 27 points of the game." Resident Titans expert Jordan Dajani doesn't buy Tennessee as a Week 18 spoiler. Check out all his ATS analysis right here. Jets at PatriotsTime: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)   Open: Patriots -1.5, O/U 35 "This could very well be the last game Bill Belichick coaches for the New England Patriots and it's hard to imagine that the players aren't aware of that possibility. With that in mind, I can't fathom this Patriots team rolling over in a game that has historical significance, even if they are eliminated from playoff contention. New England has won 15 straight games against the Jets and 12 straight at home. The Jets offense continues to look lost and is last in the league on third down and in the red zone, so there is no real threat of this unit raining on Belichick's parade. New England has also been solid against the number over the last month, owning a 3-0-1 ATS record after starting the year 2-10 ATS." Resident Patriots expert Tyler Sullivan believes New England will extend its dominance over the Jets. Find his full breakdown, plus all his Week 18 picks right here. Falcons at SaintsTime: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS), stream on Paramount+ (click here)     Open: Saints -3, O/U 42 SportsLine's simulation model has ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Now, it's simulated every snap of Week 18 and revealed its best parlay picks, including for a five-team wager with a potential 25-1 payout. One part of the five-team parlay: New Orleans covers in well over 50% of simulations, making it one of the model's strongest Week 18 picks. Learn more right here. Buccaneers at PanthersTime: Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)   Open: Buccaneers -4, O/U 37 "The Buccaneers were upset by the rival New Orleans Saints last week, and need a win against Carolina to clinch the division. The Panthers are coming off of a deflating 26-0 loss to the Jaguars, and surely are excited to finish out the season. Tampa Bay is 7-1 ATS on the road this season, which is the second-best mark in the NFL." That's CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani, who expects the Bucs to rebound and make the playoffs. Check out all his Week 18 picks right here. Bears at PackersTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS), stream on Paramount+ (click here)  Open: Packers -2.5, O/U 43.5 SportsLine's simulation model is on a 35-21 roll on top-rated NFL picks since Week 7 of last season, and now the computers are projecting a decisive victory from the playoff contender in this matchup. One of the model's strongest Week 18 bets is that the Packers (-3) cover at home against Chicago in a clinching scenario. The model is also backing the Over (44) in this one. Catch a full breakdown of the game, plus forecasts for every Week 18 contest, right here.Broncos at RaidersTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)   Open: Broncos -1, O/U 37.5 "It's pretty shocking that Antonio Pierce hasn't been given the Raiders job already, but it makes sense with what we know about Jim Harbaugh's desire to return to the NFL coupled with him hiring Don Yee (Tom Brady's agent, plus Jimmy Garoppolo's agent, so there are tons of ties to the Raiders in terms of previously positive negotiations). Mark Davis loves a splash hire and Harbs would qualify, especially if he won the natty for Michigan and then jumped back to the NFL. Regardless, we get a team in Las Vegas looking to really make a final push for the interim coach they want hired full-time against a team in Denver that might be phoning it in a bit with Jarrett Stidham having taken over for Russell Wilson and the Broncos fully eliminated from postseason contention." CBS Sports' Will Brinson likes Vegas to pull one out at home. Check out all his Week 18 best bets right here.Eagles at GiantsTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS), stream on Paramount+ (click here)  Open: Eagles -7, O/U 45 There's so much variance in games with nothing really on the line. So, much like we did when sorting through the opening lines, we're drilling down on games where things are at stake and there is a competitive purpose for both clubs, even if only in a spoiler capacity against a primary rival. Before you make your Week 18 picks, you'll want to see what NFL expert Jason La Canfora has to say. La Canfora has broken down the entire slate and found a number of best bets, including a wager on this NFC East rematch. Seahawks at CardinalsTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)  Open: Seahawks -3, O/U 46.5 "The Cardinals are coming off their Super Bowl, beating the Eagles outright in Philadelphia to really ruin Jonathan Gannon's old team's season. The Seahawks are fighting for their playoff lives -- they're in with a win and the Bears beating the Packers. I think Chicago is going to keep it close with Green Bay in that game because the Packers defense isn't likely to close anyone out. Which means the Seahawks are very likely to keep their foot on the gas offensively and defensively throughout the entirety of this game. Even if Seattle is scoreboard watching -- and they won't likely be getting any updates until later in the game, if at all -- Pete Carroll won't let his team stop trying to compete. The Seahawks' motivation factor here is just too high to ignore."CBS Sports' Will Brinson doesn't buy Arizona making it two straight. Catch all his Week 18 predictions right here. Chiefs at ChargersTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS), stream on Paramount+ (click here)  Open: Chiefs -3, O/U 36 "The Chiefs are in the playoffs, so they will play next week. So who plays this week? Blaine Gabbert is set to go in place of Patrick Mahomes. The Chargers, meanwhile, are heading to an offseason of change, but with Easton Stick playing here it won't matter who plays for the Chiefs. They still win it." That's CBS Sports senior columnist Pete Prisco, who's betting on Kansas City despite the lineup changes in this Week 18 AFC West rematch. Catch all of Prisco's predictions right here.R.J. White has delivered a 56.5% hit rate on his Vegas contest picks over the last eight seasons, and that run includes two finishes in the money, including finishing 18th out of 2,748 entries back in 2017. This week R.J.'s backing the Chiefs as one of his five contest picks."The main reason I'm trusting the Chiefs backups is that I've seen who's playing on the other side of the ball. The Chargers have scored one offensive TD outside of garbage time in Easton Stick's three starts, and that came after they were set up inside their opponent's 30-yard line following an interception. Even if he has Joshua Palmer back for this game, I can't see the Chargers putting up a bunch of points, and the Chiefs may only need 14-17 points to cover the number. That certainly seems doable, even for their backups."You can read more about his Chiefs pick and all of R.J.'s Week 18 contest picks right here.Rams at 49ersTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)   Open: 49ers -3, O/U 44.5 "The Rams have already clinched a playoff spot, so this game only matters for seeding purposes. If they win, they'll lock up the sixth seed, but if they lose, they could end up as the seventh seed, although there's a chance that they could get the sixth seed anyway with a loss. ... I'm going to say the Rams mail this one in and the 49ers will coast to an easy win, even though they won't have Christian McCaffrey on the field." That's CBS Sports' John Breech, who likes San Francisco as Sam Darnold and Carson Wentz get the starts under center as both contenders rest key starters. Catch all of Breech's Week 18 picks right here.Cowboys at CommandersTime: Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox), stream on fubo (try for free)   Open: Cowboys -13, O/U 48 "The Cowboys are far and away the better team and need this game to secure the NFC East. Translation: there's going to be no letup from Mike McCarthy's team. They'll travel to FedEx Field, which has been a house of horrors for the Commanders so far this season. They have yet to record an ATS win at home, owning a 0-6-1 ATS record. They also have just a single ATS win against the division this year. Dak Prescott has also dominated against Washington throughout his career. The Dallas QB is 10-2 SU, completes 65% of his passes, averages 7.7 yards per attempt, and has 23 touchdowns to just four picks. This shouldn't be close against a secondary that is allowing 7.8 yards per pass attempt at home this season, the worst in the NFL."Ron Rivera may look for Washington to make a last stand in his defense, but CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan doesn't believe it'll stop Dallas from running away with this one. Check out all of Sully's Week 18 predictions right here.Bills at DolphinsTime: Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC), stream on fubo (try for free) Open: Dolphins -1.5, O/U 49 A former lead writer for Covers and The Linemakers, Larry Hartstein combines a vast network of Vegas sources with an analytical approach he honed working for Pro Football Focus. He tied for 52nd place (out of 1,598 entries) in the 2022 Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest, going 53-34-3 ATS. Those selections form the basis of his weekly SportsLine NFL best bets, which are 69-43-2 since the start of last season, including a 14-4 record the last six weeks. Most importantly, Hartstein has a read on the pulse of the Dolphins. He is 27-17-1 (+804) on his last 45 picks in games involving Miami. We can tell you he's leaning Under on the total, but you'll wanna head over to SportsLine for his complete ATS prediction. Best Week 10 NFL Bets
Tumblr media
As we begin the second half of the NFL season, playoff chases and division races are beginning to take shape. And we now have enough of a sample size to begin seriously evaluating rookie quarterbacks. No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud is FOR absolutely real, and this week against Joe Burrow he takes center stage.
Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)
The record-holder for most passing yards in a game by a rookie is C.J. Stroud. Last week against the Buccaneers he threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns, in leading the Texans to a last-second win. But that was the Bucs, who are on a four-game losing streak. The Bengals have won four straight, including impressive wins over the 49ers and Bills, and at home they will be too much for Houston. Stroud will continue to grow and impress and lock up the Offensive Rookie of the Year, but the Bengals will win by a touchdown and cover this spread.
Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3)
Don’t be fooled by the Packers win over the Rams. That was against backup quarterback Brett Rypien, who was so bad that his job was given to Carson Wentz the next day. The Packers are not a good team. The Steelers might be a good team, but they definitely have a good defense that will force at least one interception out of Jordan Love. T.J. Watt is having a monster year and this Pittsburgh offense does enough to cover the field goal spread.
New York Jets at Las Vegas Raiders (+1)
The Raiders feel liberated now that Josh McDaniels is no longer the head coach, and it showed in last week’s win over the Giants. The only offense in the league even close to being as bad as the Giants belongs to the Jets, and the Raiders defense should have another good game. New York’s defense is elite, but when you have a quarterback like Zach Wilson, that’s not enough. It’s definitely not enough for them to give points. Take the Raiders.
Denver Broncos (+7.5) at Buffalo Bills
The Denver Broncos are on a two-game winning streak, and three games in a row we’ve seen great games out of their defense. They’ve ended the long losing streak against the Chiefs, and once they play this Monday night in Buffalo, the schedule turns favorable. Could Denver go on a run? The Bills have been so up-and-down, that the answer is yes, the Broncos could continue their winning ways this weekend. But even if they don’t win, getting more than a touchdown is too much. Take those points and the Broncos.

SUNDAY PREVIEW for 11/5
I know it's only Tuesday, but we decided to put out our Sunday NFL picks early this week to prevent any line movement from affecting our plays. These picks could be affected negatively due to injuries and other unforeseen circumstances, but we will do our best to account for that. Our first pick is a little biased since I am based out of Philadelphia I will not lie. We are picking the Philadelphia Eagles against the spread at -3 against the Dallas Cowboys. It is going to be a heated divisional matchup against two bitter rivals. However, with the Eagle's secondary finally healthy and with the addition of Kevin Byard we believe the Eagle's defense will find a way to overpower Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb's chemistry. This will pave the way for Jalen Hurts to do his thing on offense and lead the Eagles to another win. For our second pick, we are taking the Bengals -3 against the Bills. The Bills have struggled to find a rhythm this year and have not looked liked themselves. The Bengals started the year off very slow and since then have been dominating after taking down Brock Purdy and the Niners last week. Look for the Bengals to continue their success against a struggling Buffalo team.

NFL Contest top 5 picks, Westgate top 5 and season to date for active sports, all posted
New Post has been published on https://www.rickjshandicappingpicks.com/nfl-contest-top-5-picks-westgate-top-5-and-season-to-date-for-active-sports-all-posted/
NFL Contest top 5 picks, Westgate top 5 and season to date for active sports, all posted
Last week my contest picks went 3-2, bringing my season to date record for contest picks to 15-18-2
For plays I went 1-0 last week in the NFL with NE +8.5 being an easy winner.
Season to date for plays in the NFL is 4-8-2
The contest where I pick every game against the spread went 7-6 last week bringing my season to date record
in that contest to 54-53.
A slow start this season in the NFL. Are we due to pick up:)  We will see.
In College football this weekend I went 3-3 bringing my season to date record to 23-17-1 for sides and 1-1 for totals.
In MLB we won about 5 units for the regular season , down from the +16 units we won last season. But we are having
a solid playoff season Going 3-2 for +1.90 units. The first game of the Worlds Series I had Arizona +140 and they lost in the bottom of the 9th
giving up two runs to lose the game by 1:(
The NBA is also in full swing now.  We sit at 2-2-1 , it will be a very long season:)
So far no plays in the NHL but I suspect there will be some hearing our way.
Today I have sent out two plays in the NFL.
My 5 contest picks for today are:
Cinci +5.5
NE +8.5
Wash +7
Cleveland +3.5
Denver +7
In the Westgate last week their top 5 picks went 0-5 bringing their record to 18-16-1
This week the top 5 pick is:
For some reason this season the Westgate top 5 picks are delayed no on Sunday morning.  Some weeks they
are available and some not. This week I cannot find them anywhere.
