my cat is such a good buddy. i was having a lil post-work stress because it has been A Day (it has, in fact, been A Month) and he came over and sat on me and did the calming purring thing they do and he is so warm and cuddly and i love him so much even though he persists in letting live mice loose in my house at 3am so i have to catch them

#did i ever tell the story of the mouse that lived in my house for 18 months #because the cat brought it home and set it free and neither of us could find it again #but for MONTHS afterwards i could hear it under the floorboards and it chewed holes in sheets in a cupboard i assume to make a nest #and then over the winter it went quiet #but it WOKE UP about six months ago and the noises started again this time under one of the stairs #so eventually my dad came over with a drill and some rat poison and anyway the mouse no longer lives here #but it was a TIME #next time i'll tell the mouse story that ended in antibiotics
