i love the fact that my city gets the highest annual volume of rain in the US yet any time it rains ONE inch or more in a few hours (very common here) my plumbing dies for a week or two and i have to drive all the way to my university to shower in the rec center

#and i always leave at 4:47am so i can walk in at 5:00am (when it opens) so i don't bother anyone that is there to. actually use the place #my parents think it's a problem with our septic tank but for years now my dad has refused to #move the several tons of metal that are lying atop the ground covering the septic tank. then every time we can't shower he bitches about it #it's funny because tropical storm claudette only knocked out our plumbing for one (1) day but #then a completely unrelated thunderstorm a few days later has had it knocked out for like a week almost #this is why i always tell people that hurricanes do not bring a lot of rain to us #your average hurricane takes 1-3 full days to drop as much rain on us as a typical thunderstorm takes 2 hours to lol #the only problems a hurricane brings are wind and - if you're a bit closer to the coast than i am - storm surge #anyways at least my university is kept up really nicely even over the summer so i can do this :l #misc #bluh
