i truly don't understand how people can get really into a fandom without seeing all/most of the material involved. how are you doinf that

#i do Not understand reading fic where i don't know the characters. doesn't matter how well-written the characters are #who are these people. idk them. i can't get attached to Characters without Meeting Them. in their natural habitat. thee original story #the Text. you could call it #idk what if i hypothetically loved a fic and then looked at the og media and didn't like it at all. hard to explain #To Me. fanfic and meta (im excluding art bc im not immune to pretty picture) have to be built off of the story like. they're attached. i #can't see it as seperate #i want to engage with media and Then be insane about it idk. fandom only experience feels like. storytelling lite #many beloved mutuals are capable of this. i don't get it at all. godspeed but What #like i understand u get the gist of the canon story thru fic and fandom in general but i need to get In That Canon #im elbows deep in the legos bin of the canon always
