why does ti west make films that are like an hour of "blokes who do fuck all" and thirty minutes of actual Things Happening.

#like the babysitter movie he made? house of the devil? the like. extended sequences of the girl walking around and listening to music #dancing. playing pool. #the tension from seeing her friend get shot in the face DIsipates! but you know the threat is still there! #its just. Boring!! as Fuck!! #same thing w/ x #hour of softcore and thirty minutes of actual slasher movie! #like the demonic ritual stuff in the baby sitter movie was cool! but it didn't feel Worth it! #because i burned an hour watching this girl fuck around and the attachment becomes annoyance after that long! #the actual killing in x was lamer than that so I definitely like it less #like. its a pacing problem for sure #he thinks of the set up and the destination but doesn't make the journey anything I can care about #though he's great at visuals. i dunno maybe pearl's better but i dont feel motivated to watch it due to not liking x #maybe before Maxxxine comes out at least. people said he hit his stride at pearl so idk #x also kinda fumbled its characters because just as i was starting to give a shit about them the slashy bits start and the character- #conflict dies
