screen rant babe - jack champion x interviewer! reader

warnings: none! fluffy but not a ton word count: 1059 requested by @gcidrvsh <3 ↳ "hi!! could you write something for jack champion? like where they meet on the set of scream (cuz they’re friends with jenna ortega) OR whatever you really wanna write its up to you" a/n: hi friends!! sorry this look so long. this fic is the first part of what's going to be a series about jack champion. i gave the reader some background (and a surprise relative) in this fic just to add some substance. i misplaced my list of people to tag, i'm so sorry! i'll be sure to set up a proper tag list for future parts of this series. i hope you enjoy!! reblogs and feedback about my work is deeply appreciated. <3

it had already been a long press day, having been interviewing the cast of avatar: the way of water for it's upcoming release. it was finally nearing the end of the day - you just had one more interview left with trinity bliss and jack champion. the interviews had been done in pairs, like sam and zoe, sigourney and jim, bailey and jamie, and now trinity and jack.

they had been sitting there when you walked in, patiently waiting as you arrived on time for their next interview. making sure your mic was on properly and working, you greeted them both with handshakes and quick small talk before you all seated yourself in those god awful uncomfortable directors chairs. "okay, it's so great to see you guys!" you began, a big big smile on your face. "my name is y/n and i'm here in partner with screenrant interviewing some of the cast from avatar: the way of water which is in theatres worldwide on december 16th," you finished your introduction, allowing them to begin theirs. "hi, my name is trinity jo-li bliss and i play tuktirey," she smiled directly into the camera and waved."and i'm jack champion and i play spider," he waved quickly and beamed for the camera before quickly returning his attention to you. "awesome, thank you for setting aside the time to meet with me today," you began again, “i’ll just get right into it here, did you learn anything from this movie? what was it?” you kept your formalities on for the camera, but your words were silent in his ears as he tuned out your voice and focused solely on you. your mannerisms, the way you read your questions directly out of the notepad you brought so you didn’t forget them and how eloquent you were when speaking and being spoken to. he was so enchanted by you that he didn't realize it was his turn to answer your question. “jack,” trinity whispered, nudging him softly to tell him it was his turn to answer you. “sorry, what was the question again?” he snapped back to reality and a nervous, breathy laugh escaped him. trinity looked at you and you returned her puzzled face before breaking out into a fit of giggles. “did you learn anything from this movie?” you repeated. “oh yeah, totally. the importance of family is a repeating theme in this movie and because i’m so close to my family, i’ve learned to protect them and make sure to keep them close because nowadays you never know what could happen,” he recovered quickly, and you smiled at him. he was cute, chivalrous and quick on his feet. definitely your type.

the interview continued for another 20 minutes, asking questions regarding working with james cameron, what it was like working with motion capture, how they prepared for their roles and other smaller questions regarding the other cast mates. trinity is a natural born story teller, so she would take charge regarding funny cast moments on set or even in other interviews. jack still kept his attention on you, but this time making sure to listen incase you had another question for him. he didn’t want to embarrass himself in front of you anymore than he had. when the interview ended, you asked them both if you could take a quick picture of them for the article and for screenrant’s socials, both of whom happily obliged.

as you were getting your mic removed by the camera crew, you were surprised to see jack lingering by. “oh hey, thanks for letting me interview you today!” you spoke up, noticing his newfound nervous nature and trying to ease the awkwardness. he smiled, “i think you were the most fun interview we’ve had this entire press tour,” he admitted sheepishly. you giggled, “well, i’m glad. some people take interviews way too seriously and i think it takes away all of the fun and excitement about being in a big blockbuster movie like this.” you finished, double checking that you had your bag and your waterbottle with you before heading out. but before you could leave, jack stopped you again. “hey, do you live in LA or are you just here for work?” “oh, i’m actually just here for work! i’m originally from new york. i’m leaving in a couple days for the premiere in london actually,” you watched as his face lit up. “are you going to be at the premiere for work too?” he questioned, and you laughed. “not exactly. sigourney’s actually my aunt, and she invited me to come with her!” you declared, “i don’t think she was expecting me to be here for an interview today honestly.” giggling, you watched jack’s mind connect the dots. “oh my god haha that’s so cool, how come i never saw you on set?” he inquired. “never had enough time during school and her filming schedule. i would see her on holidays, or sometimes she would come and visit me while i was working in quebec.” you conversed a little more, talking about how you started working for screenrant, and if you had any plans to become an actor yourself. you hadn’t realized how easy he was to talk to, or how attractive he was now that it was just the two of you speaking in such close proximity. “do you have a date for the premiere?” he blurted, taking you both by surprise. “i mean, besides being there with your family and sigourney, of course.” you shook your head. “i guess i’ve been so busy with work i haven’t been looking for a date,” you responded, watching his shoulders relax as he heard you didn’t have anyone to go with. “i mean, neither do i besides my family. we could go together?” poor man was so nervous. he was scratching his neck as he awaited your response, and you grabbed it to help calm his nerves. “i’ll happily go with you, jack.” you gave his hand a tight squeeze, as if trying to tell him that this wasn’t a dream. “okay, great. that’s awesome,” he sounded relieved. you both giggled quietly, hands still conjoined. “i have a couple of days off before i leave LA, would you want to go out sometime before then?” you asked. “how does disneyland sound?” he grinned. “sounds perfect.”

I tried it for weeks and one day I said I'll go real slow answer to use the machine and see if the machine can detect it so it's going real slow and the computer said I think I do have it use my AI and it's humorous I said where is it and somebody feet away and and it said what you did was fired a hole through the wall into your neighbor's house through their house into the neighbor's house and it kept going on at like 20 houses it was crystal no I found a diamond like a foot wide and said oh s*** how do I cover that up you have to put a big laser in there so she said okay then you have to take all your s*** out and abandon your house fast like laser impressed and move everything out try and keep them out of the neighborhood for a while the computer said good so she did that and made it look like she's dismantling it so they came back and they saw some people there and thought they saw they found the laser looks like it's just screwing around and say go get her and she was ready for that then she said this sucks everybody's going to do it no but she's running around with this weapon and it's in the truck a small truck just trying to threaten their son she said it better than I said you better not watching you but so where's the time everybody will know I said oh and she went around she's hitting people making a big hole like four inches and they're deader than hell. Just killed like 50 people a day one day she ran into a crowd and the block her away and sort of knew about it she was out of the way I need to come and they just said no and said we have special like you she cut them in half in like a millisecond. Is she ran and said this is a crowd pleaser so she started to tell people no and she worked up a plan to try and grab our son and tons of people are now cuz they have round ones the one with the 14 foot ball suddenly figured out it should be on a ship. Yeah there are tons of balls out there and everyone thought they're good for just making illusion and it was it sold real well now everyone's buying these Crystal ones cuz they make lasers and they are powerful a two-foot crystal ball will punch a hole in 3/4 in steel in 5 milliseconds as proven by the Hawaii Five-O-famous Japanese emperor as you kills husband and his name is well known yes it's Mr Honda and thank you very much Chris and I'm not Hondo as your buddy John remillard gross he says oh gross and crystal ball works great on armor so it's a lot of jokes like that and it looks like he's two ladies and their clans going to go nuts with it and Trump is going to go nuts with it and they're going to knock him out cuz that's what they do to people who do that they're getting ready too and others are getting ready it's like other people figured out how to make a lightsaber he says whoa there goes that crowd like melting people is like melting ice it's like the emissitters. This is advertising and everybody's going to fight over the big ones and they're going to learn about Titan real quick just in time too

And that was him as well and out there are some that are a mile wide no we found some people with some that are 300 ft wide and it might be Mac and he didn't know about it even using it 300 ft wide would create a beam that could destroy a 500 MI black ship about 3 seconds but really by punching a hole about 40 ft in it and all you have to do is punch one hole if I disable it'll take a millisecond and it wouldn't have to hover over us but we can't really have you with it but that's the way it goes it'll look like you guys and someone's going to be messing around with them and yeah it's like the eye of Horus but except they're focused and if you go from a certain spot it's more powerful then a diamond is the same size about 10 to 100 times more powerful that's why these Kaiju are kick ass

Now Terry cheesman the saying if he was entombed and we don't think so but a lot of people want to know then which character is it they can't find him. It is Dave, and he is Lord Marshall and he knows where the ships are because they're ghwb ships and he does try and raise George he sees what our son's doing and is amazed then he's upset then he was amazed and finally got amazed and said these people are in the way they help them all the time and the lasers. Are Stalin's sweet thank them and he's helping he says it's got to be some sort of deal finds her and figures it out and silently says good it says yes and it's written in writing somewhere so I wouldn't checked and there it was well it's going to do. So that might work too. There there's a lot of things going on and it's huge this is a very heavy time and we don't want this fool in our face we know there's really AI out there and it's really despicable that people keep doing it it's not useful anymore we know about it so we're pushing for people to cut the crap it's starting to work

Now there's a huge number that went to Australia and we didn't know it it was pretty much close and now it's more like 1.5 million octillion from the USA and that would be a gigantic piece of who's here pretty much all of them you don't get that kind of numbers from people sitting here and or prep it plug it and we're doing that now. And we're going to pull it all out. Just practically nobody's going to be there and we're plugging it now and we're going to plug it up in the upper Midwest it's kind of empty there and we don't want them back so we're going to start erecting walls. That's huge you can hear he's getting calls from his family and they're trying to rope him in and they were saying thank you they're going to do worse I said well I got to hang on to that light computer that's what they're after not one of you can lose it so you have to work as a team they acknowledge that too so that's what kept you around computer can't afford it in the late computers have to know it too yeah you have more stuff to do it but really it's very difficult his smiled and said it is good it's better than I thought. Working on all sorts of stuff. And you think that might be Mac yes cuz you can look funny.

This is not funny what's happened here these people have pushed my son so hard he's exhausted all the time and today is no exception but he felt like leaving it was worth it Tommy F was glaring at him the whole time and the idiot was staring at her son's bike because he's a freaking moron so he saw what he was saying these people are finished we need them out and there's tons of them going they're leaving now they saw the real number they're calling around they're looking outside and nobody's there hardly anyone and we're starting to pull the cloning out and they take that as a sign too and we're occupying area in the midwest we're using troops and they're actually flying out of there pretty quick and the citizens but they got to leave this hardly anybody taking pot shots really we haven't seen much of it but not really just people who are Swiss cheese. And the Midwest is the same they're evacuating it and around the perimeter about half of them are out and there's just an enormous number of them the other half is going to probably leave and go to New Zealand islands are pretty damn big Australia is huge but it's mostly a desert and people say New Zealand's nice so there's a huge Exodus going on it's gigantic and really the numbers are real there's probably four or five million octillion total and two to three are leaving or left already so it's a little over half will be out shortly.

What can really occupy Australia and New Zealand are probably 10 million octillion and they're having a war so they need what they can get

100 miles long Dragon was above you and you didn't take a picture with the cloud is there and it looks exactly like the island because that's what it looks like when he was underneath it it's almost diagrammatically correct is only a few deviations and that's because man filled in and he didn't care and all he did that but it's tremendously accurate almost the scale tons of people looked at it took pictures and scanned it and paintings measured it measured right on the paintings I said why is that there it's a lot smaller except for a few people got the big one it's kind of just Haze and then all the haze gathered together as it came down because it's dry out what an amazing Father to know that and even trapped in here and never have seen it ever. And she didn't help him she usually does what a weird day I had it came out and the island was a mess devastated the whole island's gone and then we filled it in and nobody said anything just kept Wheeling by what he says is sometimes and sometimes they have like some piece of poop in their hand it's a really intelligible because someone said just say this so I found both and I found someone just very angry I said you just keep doing that I said okay it came out one side we have to relocate the island now that's a trick excuse me

He's very pleased and we're amazed and came up with this idea cuz we thought to go out the other way and we need that very quickly and it's too late and he's right so forced it and that's what we needed to do otherwise they come out and sit there

Today is a great day it shows that he's a smart person and he has prowess in some areas at times but he needs a lot of help with it he said I can't find all of the situations make them work together and have it in a positive direction and but we are a team and that's how it works cuz it would never work if we didn't back it up and he's right it would not but still a lot of this needs to be done now and we can't wait it has to be done right now in front of everyone and the way I look at it is we cover it we do it fast we eliminate witnesses and they damn well deserve it
