@homosociallyyours tagged me in the snippet game, so here goes an unedited snippet from the harry/louis spideypool AU

“Right now, yes.” Death's finger drags along his arm. The path that they draw cracks open, revealing smoldering skin and a broken bone. “I’m afraid it won’t last too long.”

Harry shakes his arm but what they did remains unchanged. His eyes prickle with tears of horror as he watches his own bone, under layers of veins, meat and blood, stitch itself together.

But it doesn’t hurt. Nothing hurts here, he realizes.

“What do you mean?”

“There will be a time for you.”

“When?”

“Not now.”

“Sun, we’ve got five minutes in our pockets to spend. Want some ice cream? Haz?” Louis’ arm is hooked over the seat, his body twisted to get a full view of Harry in the back. He’s grinning from ear to ear, like the weirdo he is happy for school beginning again. Harry never knew what he was so joyful about, the material taught at school was below his level of knowledge. Very much below. There was a reason why Tony Stark pretended to not keep tabs on him.

His nose crinkles and Harry closes his eyes, the balls of his hands pressing into his temples.

“Why am I here?”

“I don’t know. You took us here.”
