I do think cql lwj is just a better person than novel lwj but also think it’s such a waste to make cql lwj this pure flawless beacon of moral perfection - that really is boring. maybe he is jealous and maybe he is possessive and I’d much rather see him recognize and work to overcome those flaws than the narrative just pretending they don’t exist. that’s makes the final separation and return so rewarding. for me

#it's left kind of vague what exactly he was thinking besides wanting to bring wwx back to CR and if he would have done it #if wwx wasn't willing #which...I don't think he woud have. but there's that voice in his head that wants to and it battles with his equal respect for wwx's choices #and esp given his father's story it's like. a wonderful ending for them. esp since his OTHER issue is not communicating #and the reunion and final scene imply they get past that too #so it balances out quite nicely #meanwhile novel lwj was never held accountable for the forced kiss even tho ig he felt bad? and he aso needed someone to confess for him #so. what character development did we see huh. he got okay with being flirted with ig #on the other hand at least novel lwj HAD flaws. hc is apparently perfect in every way #even when threatening violence and inflicting it xl is just like 'haha he's great' like sometimes its like ???? #like I enjoy hc but he's so bare #and it's wild that xl will completely excuse and overlook all his actions #cql txp
