#basically S4 of sherlock was so utterly; mind-blowingly bad that some fans went “this can't possibly be how it ends” #and started talking about a secret 4th episode/finale #and they convinced themselves that apple tree yard - a series which was about to premiere #was actually some sort of... clue to this secret sherlock ep? #like that it was a fake show and all the promo about it was actually about sherlock #I don't remember the details #crazy fandom. crazy times. #you had to filter out a lot to have a good time #but sometimes the craziness was entertaining I'm not gonna lie #I also want to stress some people were 100% serious about this #it wasn't a “haha yeah the secret episode we've all seen it” wink-wink à la goncharov kind of joke #I'd like to say this was peak sherlock fandom insanity but I'm not 100% sure #good fics though. #asks
