"Soooo," Amelia chimed as she suddenly appeared in the hallway. "I just finished a sixteen hour surgery, successfully removed a large teratoma, didn't kill my patient in the process." Her arms folded across her chest as Amelia lent against the wall. "The thing was a beaut, you should have seen it." Things went quiet for a moment, blue eyes glanced up and down the person's body before the brunette smiled - the dimple in her left cheek showing. "I was just about to grab a nap in one of the call rooms, if you wanted to uh - join me?"

open to: anyone (m/f/nb)
plot: surgery after surgery, it has all been nothing but failures and she couldn’t help but feel like it’s her fault that their loved ones won’t be able to see her patients again & your muse is trying to comfort theresa. (inspired by grey’s anatomy)
muse: theresa addison felgates / she’s one of the country’s most well known neurosurgeon who’s working in one of the most prestigious hospitals. generally a huge softie but never at work and she’s very, very, about her work
Tumblr media
death plague every inch of the hospital and everyone knew that. from the nurses to the doctors to their cleaning staff, everyone knew that death was inevitable within these walls yet sometimes theresa couldn’t help but be affected by them. on most days, she wouldn’t be but she wasn’t a machine. she might seemed like cold-hearted bitch but she wasn’t, not when each and evry single one of her surgeries today were failures. they said death comes in sevens in hospitals and she had already taken two, the other two of her patients still in a coma got god knows how long. the feeling of being a failure hung over her head as she stood there by the nursery, looking at life being born when all she could think about is death. her scrub cap in her hand, balled into a fist so hard her knuckles turned white as arms crossed before her chest. “why do we do what we do when people are going to die anyway?” she asks. “these people they fly all the way out here to have me cut into their brains but for what? for what if they were just going to die on the table?” the fact was she never should have agreed to the implausible cases; those that all the other doctors in the country had rejected but not her. she was stubborn and egoistic enough to think she could play god. “i should have never started this project. it’s... it’s stupid and look at how many people are dying or going to die because of me.”

「  OPEN  」
Tumblr media
it had been a five day bender this time around.   four years of sobriety flushed down the drain because she simply gave into temptation.   showing up at the hospital,   sweaty   &   angry,   she didn’t care who saw her   --   or heard her for that matter.   all she knew was that she needed to get her hands on some drugs.   &   there was no place better place to score her pills.   of course she’d lose her job over this,   but she didn’t care.   there wasn’t a single care in the world because of her sudden tunnel vision   &   the fact that she was coming down   &   crashing hard.   ‘   give me the damn oxy!   NOW!   ’   she almost screams.   ‘   just do it!   for once,   do your job!   ’
