#if you think homosexuality is a sin you're a filthy bigot
Text
The audacity of straight people to demand that LGBTQ people respect and accept homophobic/transphobic religious beliefs and family members, as if those beliefs are merely harmless opinions and not the deeply bigoted and harmful ideas that they are.

You're one of the few who seems not to be a bigot in The Chosen fandom. I just read a post full of homophobic comments, summarized in "i love everyone and i don't judge but the Bible says homosexuality is a filthy sin so it's wrong (and you should repent)". I don't think we'll ever see a member of lgbtq community portrayed on the series, but it's very frustrating to see comments like this one.
Not being very religious (And someone who probably wouldn't hold to Bible inerrancy if she were indeed more religious) I have more freedom not to be against harmless stuff like same-sex couples being in love. I think most so called bigots are just people who don't have freedom to discern for themselves what they really think about gay people because of their religion. They think God wants them to be vocal against gay people (or their “behavior” or “sin”, as they say) and so they are, but I can bet many of them deep down don't see anything wrong about adult same-sex couples that love each other being a thing, they just can't allow themselves to think like that. I know it can be very hurtful for gay people and that it has real world consequences, and I would never diminish that, but I don't think these sorts of conservative opinions from most individuals are personal or even what religious people feel or think instinctively a great deal of the time.
