had the thought yesterday that the Sinclairs' parents, especially Trudy, at first were really affectionate with Lester, her dressing him up for his first day at school and calling him a "handsome young man" - until it turns out that he's not good in school (maybe due to adhd and/or dyslexia) which is when his parents start losing interest and neglecting him

and in a way that's even worse than if he'd never experienced their love and affection at all

ok but for real, imagine the twins getting up early or staying up late to make Lester lunch for school (maybe Bo would do it when their mum is busy teaching Vincent), writing him notes, especially when he has tests or exams (they always write down the dates to make sure they don't forget), and even learn to forge their parents signatures so they can sign exemptions or permission slips for Lester
