Welcome to the New World! Jp Lyrics
Click here to see my previous FL translations of figure descriptions and other text.
Very quickly, here's a translation of Welcome to the New World! because I for some reason never thought about translating this.
A Nintendo Dream interview where Kumazaki notes the words in this planet's language came out, they're all words that you can hear the singer sing in this song, but they're not preserved in the English lyrics.
I originally made this translation the day of this tweet but never posted it. Gigi hasn't yet finished translating this interview, but you can visit her blog to see her translations. I'm posting this now because it was announced that Welcome to the New World! is now on JOYSOUND Karaoke as The Noble Haltmann and the Memorial Arrangements songs had been before. I suppose that means Kai-Alone may eventually make a video with translations (That will probably be more accurate than this post), so be sure to check out his YouTube channel for all his Kirby JOYSOUND translations.
Strange horizon. Ready to go. さぁ準備は できたかい? Now, have you prepared?
Feast your eyes on a new world! 見えたよ NEW WORLD To see the NEW WORLD
A new dreamland. A place where you'll laugh and smile. そこはフシギな 夢の国なのさ 遊ぼう It's a mysterious land of dreams, let's play
Along the way, stuff your belly and nap awhile. 泣いて笑って お腹いっぱいほおばり おひるね Crying and laughing while stuffing yourself full and napping *ほおばり stuffed cheeks/mouthful, the word in mouthful mode **As per Kumazaki, you can hear NEICHEL sing the word ノディルナ Nodiruna in this line, meaning nap. It's a reference to the name of the enemy Noddy, ノディ Nodi in Jp.
No one can hold you back. New fields full of mystery. だれも邪魔できない キミだけのFIELD Your own FIELD where no one can bother you
The sky's opened up, and there's so much to see. あの空も 全部キャンバスさ All of that sky is a canvas
*NEICHEL sings the word アドゥレシア Adoureshia here, meaning Canvas. Seems to be based on the names Adore-nu (Adeleine) and the cia/shia in Doroshia/Peinshia/Kureishia (Drawcia/Paintra/Claycia).
Running wild! 走れ Run
Just let your heart take the wheel and show you the way. ハート色の クルマ乗りこみ Board a heart-colored car
*NEICHEL sings ファルダ Faruda here, meaning Heart. The Jamba word for heart was Haruda.
Fresh spring breeze! 風よ The wind
Adventure is awaiting you in the fields of a new world! きらめく草原をなで ようこそ! NEW WORLD Welcome to the sparkling wind-swept grasslands! NEW WORLD
*I don't know what なで means and have interpreted it as wind-swept for now *NEICHEL sings the word ハァロア Haaroa, meaning Welcome, as well as ルゥワァ Ruuwaa, meaning New World.
Strange emotion. What do you feel? 目を閉じ 感じた Eyes closed, you felt it.
The roaring ocean of a new world! 海鳴り NEW WORLD The cry of the sea, NEW WORLD
Don't be afraid. Face your fears—you'll hunger for more. モヤモヤしても おいしいモノあれば ゴキゲン Even with uncertainty, tasty things cause good moods *NEICHEL sings the word マーシャス Ma-shasu here, meaning tasty. Based on the word Delicious. Hyness's language has a similar word, マジシャス Majishasu, Majicious in English, which also means tasty.
The tension builds; plunge ahead on this thrilling tour. 止まらない気持ち ドキドキのトビラ くぐって Non-stop feelings, passing through a door of excitement
*The English references The Dream Discoveries Tour, based on ドキドキ dokidoki, the sound of a heartbeat, which is also in its Jp nameドキドキ発見ドリームツアー which I translate as Heart-Pounding Discoveries Dream Tour, and the game translates that as Thrilling Tour in some places in English. But it's quite a bit of a reach, ドキドキ is very common and is in fact also used in this game to describe Kirby's singing voice, for example (Though there it's ドキドキドキ). Reaching that far, you could consider how くぐって is also used in Through the Tunnel トンネルくぐって.
Think of the friends you've made, all of them living free. 心配しないでと キミとならFREEDOM Don't worry, there's FREEDOM with you
Their cares have been washed away by a wild sea. 脱いだ服 波がさらって Clothes removed, washed away by the wave
Laughing loud! 笑おう Let's laugh
Even if you're far apart, they're right by your side. 隣にはいつも ボクがいるよ I'll always be right beside you.
*The singer NEICHEL uses ボク boku
Hearts full of love! だれもが Everyone,
Everyone is welcome to live in this new world. それぞれの愛を胸に ようこそ! NEW WORLD With love in each and every heart, welcome! NEW WORLD
*This is 胸 chest/breast/heart rather than the ハート Heart that is read as Faruda in the language of the new world.
Running wild! 走れ Run
Just let your heart take the wheel and show you the way. ハート色の クルマ乗りこみ Board a heart-colored car
Fresh spring breeze! 風よ The wind
Adventure is awaiting you in the fields of a new world! きらめく草原をなで ようこそ! NEW WORLD Welcome to the sparkling wind-swept grasslands! NEW WORLD
Open hearts already fluttering free and riding the breeze. ときめくハートはもう 自由さ (My/your) fluttering heart is already free
Nothing but love to share with everyone we know. Whoa! それぞれの愛を胸に Wow Oh Oh! With love in each and every heart, Wow Oh Oh!

My Thoughts On: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Announcement
In case you blinked, Nintendo had a Direct where they officially announced Breath of the Wild 2 as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now, in a previous post, I voiced some of my thoughts on Breath of the Wild, and some concerns about the franchise moving forward. With the official title and release date available now, those concerns still stand.
I mentioned in my previous post that I was concerned about Zelda games moving forward using the Breath of the Wild formula, and how that sort of game isn't why I'm a Zelda fan. Breath of the Wild was a great game, no doubt! But the open-world, free-roam style of gameplay with little to no linearity isn't what brought me to Zelda at all. Classic Zelda gameplay can almost be thought of as a Metroidvania in terms of progression: you have to pass by several side areas you can't interact with yet and find your first story objective, where you obtain an item/upgrade that allows you to do some of those side things on your way to the next story objective, but you find more things you can't do yet, so the next objective gives you another item/upgrade, repeat until final boss/ending. I won't get into all the little details of the new formula, as I already detailed that in my previous post, but needless to say I'm not the biggest fan of Zelda games with the Breath of the Wild formula.
The new teaser from the Nintendo Direct featured very very little new content to show, and was basically just a title/release date announcement. Thus, all my concerns from before stand. I'm most likely not going to get the new Zelda game at release; I'll wait until I can find it for a reasonable price used on eBay or such. I'm just not willing to pay $60 for a brand new AAA Nintendo release that I know is going to disappoint me as a Zelda game in the same ways as Breath of the Wild.
I know that's probably an unpopular/controversial opinion to have, but that's just the way I feel on it. It's perfectly fine for us to disagree on these things! My blog is @assorted-gaming-thoughts not assorted-gaming-facts (although that is a neat blog idea...). We can all have differing opinions and thoughts on these subjects, and that's what makes discussing them so engaging! There's a lot of points of view on these things, and it's great to share these things and discuss them!
Thanks for reading! I really hope we get more Zelda remakes like Link's Awakening on Switch, those would really be what the fans need if BotW is the new normal for the franchise. I hope you enjoyed this post, and be sure to ask questions and suggest new post ideas in my ask box! Stay safe, stay hydrated, and God bless!
~Alex

Something About Hachi Koi (はち恋)
Tumblr media
What I could gather from Hachi Koi or はち恋 is that it was a cancelled game/love simulator for the Nintendo DS as it was announced in 2008.
Additionally, I come to realize that this game has been acknowledged since 2012 on Tumblr by one of the main heroines, Kurumi.
Surprisingly, this was attempted by EA of all companies according to blog with a defunct link as the main plot is that a death god tells the protagonist that he's going to die by his next birthday and the only to stop it is to fall in love with one of the featured heroines.
As for the other company, NEURON AGE or NeuronAge, I don't have any concrete information on what they do towards the gaming market.
For its mechanics, it'll probably functions like a dating sim/love sim although has a "Touch Event". So think of games like FE: Fates or Nintendogs that feature this, hell you could think of Doki Doki Majo Shinpan! But with a DS game that'll potentially garner a niche audience, why did this game get cancelled? I haven't found the reason why, so I'm left in the dark with this one.

So, where does that leave this canceled project? It was later turned into a smartphone game for the iOS and Android that ran from October 1, 2012 to February 28, 2014. This also came with a new mechanic which are love points that occurred from outfits and dates plus using related topics to spark a conversation while also keeping the touch event.

The plot also seems to have changed to a potted plant that handed from a fortune teller as this plant can predict and advise Makoto Shirai's luck in romance.
His luck being with one of the eight heroines with some simplified summaries:
Akane Aso, the first childhood friend who's active, energetic, and friendly that's a member of the track and field club.
Hina Konishi, the second childhood friend who's shy, gentle, and soothing with a weak body yet strong will.
Mirai Kirishima, a strict committee chairperson with an old-fashioned personality who's trusted by everyone as the leader.
Kurumi Kasugaoka, a clumsy girl who's kind to everyone and quite popular in class.
Noa Saeki, an admirer of the MC that's innocent and bright while also being the hard worker.
Ayumi Ichinose, a mysterious girl who's quite modest and quiet at best. Awfully looks like another teal-haired girl who's a singer.
Maria W Ryuzaki, the only daughter of the board president that has a naïve side yet not good expressing emotions well.
Sayaka Ayukawa, the sexy upperclassman that garnered the attention of the male students yet seems interested in the MC.

Now what I've noticed while looking into the characters are some of the design changes which are mainly Hina (Hair changed from brown to black with removed side buns), Kirishima (Blue hairband thined out and turned white with neck bow removed), Kurumi (Socks become folded near loafers with flower symbol removed), Maria (Outfit color turned from pink to brown that match's Sayaka's along with shoe color + shoe accessory removed) and Sayaka (Change of bangs and heels turned from pink to purple). Their original designs, initially for the DS, are on Game Watch for full viewing.
Sadly, there is no known archive of each of the heroines' outfits. (┳◡┳)
Lastly, their official website is still up and running after shutting down their maintenance and what I can tell you is that it was completely different if you applied the link on Wayback Machine as it was in those days where it was anticipated to be released by 2009 on the NDS. Although, this requires Flash although some are programmed through Ruffle.
By the end of it all, Hachi Koi was a cancelled DS game that still made its way to be released and played until the end. I like to thank certain bloggers who posted the image with Kurumi, without you, I'll probably never found out about this obscure game. Much love!!!╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯

Waiting with high spirits.
I figured I'd do an off-topic post once I finished all the entries for Gen1 (well I figured I might after doing Gens1-7 but now I realise how long that probably will be.) I've managed to get every single Pokemon on my list now with a lot of help from various people. I plan on crediting each person who's helped me in the entries for the Pokemon they helped me with so for now I'll just say if you happen to see this thank you once again. As for me, since I last posted off-topic, well firstly I spent a long time focusing on getting all the Pokemon I needed, to the point the only games I was playing for about three or four months were Pokemon. I enjoyed it quite a bit gathering every Pokemon I needed although I got very lucky finding help for the final three or so I needed. 2023 was probably the year I completed the least games and my backlog has grown a fair bit with games such as Pikmin 4 and Warioware Get it Together. This whole Pokemon thing however did finally make me focus more on my list again after mostly playing new releases. I will say now I have all the Pokemon I need and after also playing through all the DLC of Pokemon Violet I am already making a lot more progress with my list having played through more than half the amount of games I completed in 2023 already this year.
Speaking of games like Pokemon Violet, I definitely wasn't expecting to be adding new games to my list but in a surprise move four new spirit events have been announced. The first event was what I was hoping for with various recent Nintendo games represented which I want to play/have played anyway so I'm glad I can implement them directly into my list now, however the second was a big surprise with Hades, 13 Sentinels and WBSC eBaseball being added to my list. I'll admit the third was a bit disappointing, I was fine with Pokemon SV getting represented (especially as I've just played through it so was eager to add a couple of new things relevant to my list) but I wish it had been alongside other games such as Fire Emblem Engage and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. I'm curious at this point what the fourth and final one will be, especially as they seem to be putting it off a lot longer than the previous 3 were (which seemed to be biweekly).
I've also made a few changes recently, one thing is I'm currently between jobs which, is something I really need to sort out, I don't want to go on too much about it but I've left a field I've been in for 10 years so I have a lot to think about with regards to what to do next. In more positive news I've finally gotten a new PC, my old one which I'd had for maybe 11 years or so at this point was getting unusable with various issues it kept having so I decided to finally get a new one, it seems this new PC runs a lot better and allows me to possibly play some games I wouldn't dream of playing on my previous one, so it's definitely been a good investment so far. I've managed to transfer everything important over I believe to this new PC although until I'm certain on that I'm still keeping the previous one around, still eventually I'm hoping to give that one to my Mother as she's needed a new one for a while and hopefully the issues I had won't be as much of an issue for her.
That's mostly it, as you may have seen I've just finished every post for Gen 1 of the Pokemon on my list, I'm debating currently whether I want to go straight into Gen 2 or try doing another Fighter post next, if anyone actually reads this blog and has a preference feel free to say so in the comments. As for games, I'm planning on finally after all this time getting back to Tales of Symphonia, I have a bit more of a drive now to play through it following all my time playing Pokemon so I'm hoping this will be like Dragon Quest 6 was for me where my second attempt I get really into it. For games coming up, there's not a lot on the horizon I'm particularly excited for, Peach's Showtime is something I'm looking forward to and I'm sure will be interesting, Fantasy Life i is a pleasant surprise I'm hopeful for but admittedly have a couple of concerns about. I am however very very excited for Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door getting a remake, not only is it joint my second favourite game of all time alongside the original Paper Mario, but after how the series has gone I am so glad to see it getting another release, especially as this means I'll be able to far more easily get screenshots for this blog as I had a fair few things from that game for my list (including things such as the Putrid Pirahna and Mario's Wario and Waluigi colour options.) I'm also looking forward to seeing if there's going to be any additions given a Toad in the trailer who looks unique from any characters in the original game.
Really though, beyond that I'm mostly just hoping for various games, despite what people keep saying about 'too many remasters/ports', honestly some of my most wanted things are ports and remasters, I'm hoping for a remake of Fire Emblem Geneology of the Holy War (along with Thracia possibly as DLC), a port/remaster of Punch-out Wii with Doc Louis's Punch-out included (another of my favourite games of all time and something if it was on Switch I'd be throwing on whenever I want something to just mindlessly play) and finally I want to see Kid Icarus Uprising get a full on remaster with improved controls. I realise I'm asking a lot here, but I'd be ecstatic to just get one of these happen.
Finally, I suppose this will be the last month of the Wii U and 3DS online before it shuts down. Pokemon was the only thing I felt I really needed to get done before the shutdown, however I think I should have a look into anything else, I can play Federation Force and Triforce Heroes in single player, however if I can play online with others before the shutdown I would like to so I'll have to see if I can organise something.
