@beliefruined || starter from Miles to Madani

At 12:02 pm, a package arrived on Madani’s desk; inside was a burner phone that started ringing almost on time. “Agent Madani? We need to meet. I have information on an illegal operation by another branch of the government. Meet me at the Cafe on the corner of Hillcrest at five. Come alone.” And then he hung up, not giving her enough time to ask any questions. Then he tossed his phone.

At 5:05 pm, after he had checked thoroughly that she was alone, he came in with a coffee already in hand. He was... distinct, with ragged scars across his face, and a finger missing off of each hand. That, and he was a well known enough reporter that plenty of people had seen him on tv or read his works. He slides into the seat opposite of her.

“Sorry to keep you waiting,” he said, adjusting the bag over his shoulder. “And thank you for coming. I’m having a hard time trusting people right now, but I looked into you. You looked like someone I could trust.”
