my favourite thing that's almost a universal constant is people from other parts of a country having a shared, passionate and mostly irrational hatred of a specific part

#personal crap #stuff like americans with florida or canadians with newfoundland (apparently) #i once had a joke book with several pages making fun of 'newfies' and was like 'what the hell is a newfie' #idk if the uk has one place like that but i think it might be southend #my favourite example is how because france's subdivisions are numbered and the one everyone hates is 93 #they call it 'neuf-trois' rather than 'quatre-vingt-treize' #even though the former is probably a more logical way to say 93 frankly
