Some clarification/caveats for each question:
1. This also includes Newport, which is an honorary clay event for the purposes of this question. This option would probably involve better balancing of the season overall.
2. Self-explanatory, I think? Joint tournaments are better, therefore all tournaments should be joint tournaments.
3. Look, I'm sure he's perfectly nice and a good coach, but we don't need to hear about him every twenty minutes. Also, however good his coaching skills are, I suspect they're not as good as his skills as a self-promoter and talent-spotter.
4. The season is practically 52 weeks long at this point.
5. This goes double for players who complain about the length of the season and/or the amount of travelling they have to do, and then spend the entire off-season playing exhibitions.
6. No-one watches tennis because it's fun. Not really. People might use the word 'fun' to describe some matches, but for the most part they mean it in the same way people mean it when they describe horror movies as fun. It's the emotional rollercoaster of tension and release. Tennis's appeal is in tension and excitement and suspense, and a lot of that is created by the scoring system. Attempts to make tennis quicker and shorter by fiddling with the scoring system (no-ad scoring my beloathed) undermine this.
