[what a fool in love]
Jisung thinks you couldn’t get any cuter when you have your cheeks all pink because of your tiny crush on him
pairing: han jisung x reader
genre: fluff, high school au, jisung is babo but cute
wc: 1.5k (this was supposed to be around 500 only but  got carried away)
warning: swear words, improper capitalization because i wrote this in tumblr drafts but just hit up my ask if this annoys you!
a/n: finally posting something after bouncing so many times! hopefully i can post consistently :(
Jisung thinks you couldn’t get any cuter when you have your cheeks flushed, especially when it’s because of him.
he has been observing you for months now and he notices. he notices how you would always stutter when you talk to him. you never do that when you talk to hyunjin or seungmin. he notices how your cheeks would turn a bright shade of pink when he calls you first. sometimes it would even reach your nose.
it’s not like he has been watching you. there was just this one time when he felt like eyes are on him. the bugging feeling was present for most of the day 'til he looked around and there you were, staring right at him. now jisung isn’t really one to boast, but he knows he’s one of the “handsome princes” of the school. he is not oblivious to the number of girls and boys that have a puppy to huge crush on him, thanks to the letters and free lunches he receives every once in a while.
so from then on, he knows. you’ve been showing signs of your secret crush towards him and he finds it absolutely adorable. the silent yet friendly fella of the class who never finds a struggle in having a conversation with someone despite being a stranger to her, except with him. he wouldn’t say he doesn’t enjoy watching it.
During lunch last time, when your friends abandoned you to go do their unfinished homework, you asked him, with the most shy and the most adorable look, if you can sit with him in his table. of course, the gentleman that he is, he let you sit. how could he let you possibly spend the whole lunch time looking for a seat? he swear he was only doing you a favor. well, he wouldn’t deny finding you stealing a few short glances at him amusing.
there was also this time when your biology teacher assigned the two of you to be “homework buddies.” it must have taken you a lot of courage to start the conversation. he would’ve pinched your cheeks that time if it weren’t for his self control: hey han jisung, she still hasn’t confessed to you. don’t make her uncomfortable. ah! and what was that you asked him? if he understand how the heart works? and then you went to full on nerd mode in explaining to him how it pumps blood and all the science-y stuff. how its beats depend on different factors, including external ones such as thoughts and feelings towards others. he’s pretty sure you were trying to convey something to him. dropping hints, i see. ahh, if only he could physically coo at you.
now the reason why he enjoys your actions the most is your subtleness. he can tell that you have no plans to tell him how you feel, save for your natural reaction when you see him, unlike the others who basically throw themselves at him. he can see your efforts to not make the two of you uncomfortable. and all it told him was how considerate you are. you’ve probably noticed how the confessions annoy him sometimes, especially when it was given to him at a bad timing. like the person just wanted to let it out with no regards if he’s in the mood to hear it or not. but you, you have always checked on him silently before doing something. not until today.
your classmates have gone to their respective homes. he just finished practicing with the dance club and was just on his way to the school gates when you called his name hastily. you stopped speed-walking in front of him and took a deep breath as if you just ran out of air. you were holding a folded piece of paper in your hand- wait. piece of paper? is that a letter? a love letter?! oh no...
“hey jisung. i have something to say. actually it’s-”
“no! wait!” he hastily said to stop you.
startled, you looked at him with a puzzled look, “hm..?”
no, you weren’t supposed to confess today. where did you get the sudden courage? is it from hyunjin? that man always encourage people to confess just to piss him off. tsk, that dick.
he looked at you with hesitation. are you nervous? he really didn’t want to leave you heart broken, tho.
he sighed, “how do i say this...” he gulped an imaginary lump in his throat before continuing, “ yn, you’re cute, i admit. but you see i’m not ready for a relationship yet. you’ve seen me turn down other confessions, i think, but i don’t want to do that to you because, well, you’re simply kind and... pure?” shit how do i really say this?
while he’s thinking of nice synonyms he can say instead as a replacement for what he’s about to say, you on the other hand, were left dumbfounded.
what is this guy on...?
when he finally seemed to quiet down, you didn’t even try to comprehend what he said (there’s no need to try honestly it’s impossible) before finally saying what you really needed to say.
“jisung...” you paused for a while blinking at him, “i- i was gonna say ms. kim wants you in her office tomorrow during self-study hour. it’s about your biology grades,” you gave him the paper you were holding - his biology test marked with a big red, “you failed your preliminary quiz again and she’s afraid you’re going to fail the final quiz. she wanted me to say it because we’ve been partners for this subject.”
and then the most awkward silence ensued. not until he spoke with the most “huh?” tone.
“what?”
“Ms. Kim-”
“no wait i heard that. just... what?”
at this point you didn’t know what to say. your eyes travel from one point to another except to his eyes just because he’s clearly unfathomable right now.
“you weren’t-” he stopped to swallow the lump in his throat that now actually exists, “you weren’t going to confess?” he asked (with a bit of a hope that you actually were on the way to do so just to save him from humiliation).
however, he’s hopeless from his mess.
with a furrowed brows you finally answered, “no...? where’d you get that?”
well shit.
“i mean- don’t you like... have a crush on me?”
“where is this coming from?” you kind of dragged the where part because part of you hoped to understand where he’s coming from.
“you were all blushy with me!!” he is currently on his mission to prove that you liked him.
“when?!”
“last week! it even reached your nose and you were so cu-”
“han jisung! it’s winter! i had colds last week!”
“what about that time in the cafeteria when you were all shy?! and that time when you were explaining to me, OUT OF THE BLUE, about how liking someone makes your heart beat and stuff? or when i would catch your eyes on me?!”
“when were those even?! and you totally took that biology thing out of context!” you crossed your arms in front of your chest. you are so into this argument now.
the both of you went through this banter with your voices going higher the further the banter gets for as long as your memory (or jisung’s. he’s racking up his brain to save himself) could allow. however, as the banter got stretched, the more he realized that he really did misunderstand you and your adorable actions. by a lot. so when it finally donned him that he has such a thick face for thinking like that, plus assuming that you would confess, he finally kept quiet and let himself absorb the stupidity he has done.
for you, however, you find this whole strange exchange hilarious. normally, if it was other guys, you’d have slapped him across the street for assuming things. but it is han jisung. he never rubbed it on anyone’s faces that he has a lot of admirers. he never gets cocky about his popularity. he gets shy over small praises (he loves praises). he also managed to teach the whole class one lesson in calculus minutes before an exam just because his friends asked him to teach them a crash course, until the whole class joined their little tutorial.
“soo...” you tried to start.
“wait don’t talk anymore this is kinda embarrassing for me,” he closed his eyes shut as if he's trying to convince himself to wake up from this embarrassing nightmare.
you giggled, well isn't he adorably clumsy? he's weird but you'd just take it as another opportunity to gain a close friend. “do you still need help in biology? i kinda need help in calculus...”
“alright, let’s head down the diner” he answered immediately before walking straight forward without looking at you.
"jisung!” he stopped on his tracks but without looking at you. “it’s this way!" you pointed at the opposite direction of where he was going. he turned towards you and fast-walked in that direction until you told him to wait for you in which he slowed down his steps by tenfold until you were right beside him. still not letting your eyes meet. he’s that embarrassed.
little did you both know a close friend is not only thing you'd gain from this.

Ridiculous - Pianist!Woojin x Violinist!Reader
Summary: For the longest time, you’d been, unfortunately, pining after Woojin; Woojin, in turn, was pining after you, something so obvious to everyone except the two of you. It wasn’t until a talent show appeared that you and Woojin had the opportunity to get closer.
Tumblr media
Highschool AU, friends to lovers AU
Genre: fluff
Requested by @mrchoiholic: An imagine where Woojin and the reader a pining after each other? (A/N I’m sorry if it wasn’t really what you were looking for)
Warning: Uhm- there’s one line of Your Lie in April spoilers (also to anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s an anime about a pianist and violinist)
----
“Woojin!” Bang Chan chan called from behind the boy
“Hey, Chan- oh- hello, Y/N” Woojin raised his eyebrows for a second when he saw you walking next to his best friend in the school corridor, trying to refrain from blushing
Woojin always wondered why he acted this way around you; well, of course, he wasn’t an idiot, he knew he was in love with you but he’d had crushes before, and none of them had quite the same effect that you had on him. It was almost annoying how you could make him as abnormally flustered as you could. Almost.
“Hello, Woojin” You replied quietly, moving slightly behind Chan
He smiled slightly at you, just barely showing his teeth. Chan frowned and rolled his eyes at the two of you. Your guys’ obviousness was starting to get on his, and all you other friends’ nerves. Even more so because Woojin was never usually like this; he was a responsible and up-front guy, and Woojin wasn’t the only one to notice his own personality change when it came to you.
The bell for third-period rung and Woojin and Chan said their goodbyes to you as they went off on their own to the class they had together.
“Why don’t you tell Y/N you like her?” Chan asked Woojin, obviously slightly annoyed
“Not like she likes me back. There’s no point” Woojin tried to keep an apathetic front, but ended up pouting just a little bit
“It’s not like you to be this oblivious” Chan said bluntly, sarcasm evident in his voice
“What?! I’m not being oblivious- it’s the truth” Woojin defended himself, slightly offended that Chan had said what he had
“Yeah...sure”
Meanwhile, Jeongin met up with you on the way to your class.
“Y/N!” Jeongin greeted with his usual precious smile that he always tried to keep on
“Hi innie” You smiled back
“Are you going to enter this year's talent show? You can play the violin, right?”
“Yeah but I’m not so sure I want to-”
“You should enter with Woojin!” Felix added, coming out of nowhere from behind you and abruptly joining the conversation “He plays piano, it would make a really nice pairing- throw in some Your Lie in Apri-”
You elbowed Felix in the shoulder lightly before he could finish his sentence, laughing slightly. Both him and Jeongin were serious though, and couldn’t seem to find why you were just ignoring the topic as a whole. They’ve heard both of you play before, and you’d make the perfect partners.
“Don’t be ridiculous you two, like hell I could play well in front of Woojin, I’d get too distracted”
“Or you could just confess to him” Jeongin said disapprovingly
"Doing that would just make it a million times worse when he rejects me”
Felix and Jeongin quickly exchanged glances, frowning at each other, both evidently thinking the same thing: you and Woojin are both oblivious as fuck.
The three of you entered the classroom. The teacher greeted you all briefly before going on with the lesson. She didn’t mention the school’s talent show, but you didn’t know why you expected her to. Maybe you were just hoping to get a little bit more information on it, but alas, you thought to yourself, snickering at your own choice of wording
The lesson eventually actually started, but your mind was somewhere else. Should you ask Woojin to enter with you? It could be a really nice chance to get closer to him, and the only time you ever heard him play was in music class, but you were sure that he was absolutely incredible on the Piano, just like he was with everything else. You sighed dreamily as you pictured Woojin sitting in front of a grand piano, his large hands floating across it. By now, you were completely tuning out whatever the hell your teacher had to say.
The period eventually came to an end and you wandered off to your next period, elective music; the period you had with Woojin, along with Chan, Jisung and Changbin.
“My favourite people” You exclaimed, walking up to Jisung, Changbin and Chan “Produced any new songs yet? You know, my personal favourite was always WOW” You said jokingly, being far too overdramatic
“Chan, why did you tell Y/N about that” Jisung whined, covering his ears, not wanting to be reminded of the abomination that he himself created
“Well excuse you, Y/N, all our other songs are fire” Changbin retorted jokingly
“Yes, yes, Changbin, I’m aware” You chuckled and went to join the three, Chan gave you a light slap on the back for being so teasing
You were so distracted with teasing 3racha that you didn’t even notice Woojin until you joined the group. He was silently listening to your guys’ conversation, trying not to laugh at your antics. You blushed as you looked at him, a smirk resting on his features that immediately dropped once you two made eye contact. You both turned away again, not looking long enough to see the blush on each other’s cheeks.
“Are you guys entering the talent show?” Changbin asked as the five of you entered the classroom
“You and Y/N should enter together, Woojin. You play piano and she plays violin” He smiled mischievously “throw in some Your Lie in April-”
“Oh my gosh! You and Felix, I swear to god your weeb asses” you frowned, refusing to look over to Woojin
“I, for one” Woojin spoke, trying to keep his voice calm “Don’t want Y/N to die of cancer”
“How romantic” Jisung cooed in a fake sickly sweet voice as you guys took your seats
The music teacher walked in and greeted the class. She briefly mentioned the talent show and when she did, you and Woojin quickly exchanged glances, looking away again with a blush.
The period seemed to come to an end quickly, which was unusual since it was only theory work, those lessons seemed to drag on for quite a while.
After the lesson though, you walked up to your teacher, asking her if you could use one of the soundproof practice rooms once school was over. Your teacher smiled and nodded, handing you the keys and telling you to give them back tomorrow. It’s not like you’d never done it before, and you never failed to be responsible about it.
You sat through one last period and eventually school came to an end. You held back a few minutes at your locker and by this time, most of the people had already left, rushing to get home to do whatever the hell they did after school. Once the hallways were mostly clear, you walked through them and went to the practice rooms, already having texted your parents about it.
You arrived at the first practice room and got out the keys from your back pocket, opening the door and being met with none other than Kim Woojin. Weirdly enough, he didn’t seem to notice you, too invested in the song to look up.
You paused, watching him. Woojin looked exactly how you pictured, but somehow, even more beautiful. The sheet music for a short sonatina was lying on the book rest, but he was barely looking up at it. His large hands glided gently yet powerfully along the piano, doing large scales with his right hand and jumping around with his left. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed and his mouth hung open, just barely.
All too soon, Woojin finished the piece. Too nervous to do anything else, you attempted to walk back out silently, but Woojin heard you. He quickly turned his head around, face becoming red after seeing it was you.
“Ah! I’m sorry!” You said “Your playing was just really beautiful and I-”
Woojin gave you a nervous, toothy smile “It’s alright, Y/N. Thank you, though. What are you doing here?”
“Oh- I was going to practice” You held up your violin case.
“ah- sorry, I should leave, I didn’t even get permission to use the room” Woojin got up and began collecting his things
“No! I mean- it’s okay if you stay, I'll just use the next one” You awkwardly started to walk out the door again
“Y/N” Woojin stopped you, hesitating after you turned back around “I- uh- I was wondering if you wanted to enter this year's talent show with me-” He looked at you hopefully, wondering where the hell his usual confidence had gone
“Oh- I would love to...” You were taken aback, to say the very least, and you were so busy trying to hide your own blush that you hadn’t noticed Woojin’s
Woojin smiled and offered you a seat right next to him on the long stool in front of the piano. You two spent the next- what must’ve been at least an hour- looking through songs and choosing one that suited both your tastes. The song ended up being- you’re not going to believe this one- Watashi No Uso: the original Your Lie in April soundtrack.
“Chan is never going to let us live this down” You chuckled, it seemed like in the midst of your discussion with Woojin, all of your nerves died away, and the only thing you cared about was speaking about something you’re passionate about with someone you love
“Are you kidding me? I’m never going to let myself live this down” Woojin joked, his toothy smile finding it’s way onto his face for what seemed like the millionth time that afternoon
So it was settled; you and Woojin would enter together with a duet. Woojin and you said goodbye for the night and began to head your own separate ways.
The entire night, you could barely focus on anything other than the fact that you were actually going to perform with your crush. You sighed, a smile that reached far past your eyes adorning your features.
The next couple of months went by in a flash. You’d been spending far more time with Woojin and your friends were beginning to notice. Minho and Seungmin wouldn’t stop saying that you two were dating in secret. Every time, you’d blush uncontrollably, just like Woojin and refuse to say anything. You’d decided that you wouldn’t tell your guys’ friends that you were entering, and especially you weren’t going to tell them what song you guys were doing. At least this way, Chan wasn’t teasing you along with the rest of the group.
Finally, the day of the competition came, you were a nervous wreck. Of course, it wasn’t because you were performing in front of the school, it was because you were performing with Woojin in front of the school. You weren’t sure how well you would do, but you just knew that you’d been practicing this for months.
The talent show was split into categories that would be held each day, humor, acting, videos, singing and instrumental. Instrumental was last. You and Woojin attended each session. Obviously, some of them were absolute shit- nothing else to describe it- but others were incredible, especially when you guys went to the singing category, there wasn’t one person there who was less than decent.
Finally the day you and Woojin would perform came around.
You sat at the back as other performers played. Surprisingly there was a lot of trumpets, and as usual, a lot of pianists who also paired singing with it. Soon enough you and Woojin were called to be on stage.
You took a deep breath in a walked out, clutching tightly onto your violin and bow while Woojin calmly walked to the piano and sat down, readying his fingers. In the silence, you could hear eight people gasping loudly and then excited muttering from the same group. You looked up, seeing your friends who all had shit-eating grins on their faces. You chuckled and looked over to Woojin, who nodded at you. Then, you started playing.
Chan and Minho immediately recognized the song and had to refrain from yelling, while the other seven took a little while to, but they did, eventually. You couldn’t look back at Woojin, but you were sure he looked flawless. You were gracefully- almost violently- playing your violin, digging it hard into the underside of your chin. You could tell you’d be getting a bruise from it later, but that didn’t matter right now. What mattered was how good you and Woojin sounded, even you could tell it was incredible.
All too quickly, the song came to an end and a loud chorus of cheers and claps rung throughout the hall. Even though the crowd was unbearably loud, you could still recognize your group’s shouts from inside of it. You and Woojin exchanged smiles before going off stage.
A couple more performances went by and soon enough, it was over. The minute you and Woojin exited the building, you were absolutely swamped by your friends
“Why didn’t you tell us you were entering together?!?” Yelled Minho
“YOU TWO PLAYED YOUR LIE IN APRIL” Chan shouted, to which you laughed at
“so THAT’S why you guys were spending so much more time together” Hyunjin sighed “you should’ve told-”
“YOU SHOULD’VE TOLD US” Jisung yelled, cutting Hyunjin off
“Oh shush, guys,” You said, Woojin was just staring at them menacingly
“Y/N and Woojin, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g” Felix sang mockingly
“Felix, I will hit you with this” You held up your violin case threateningly
“You wouldn’t dare! Instruments are too expensive!” He yelled, and then continued with the child's tune
You rolled your eyes, seriously considering actually hitting Felix, but deciding he wasn’t worth the extra couple hundred dollars.
“Hey” Woojin nudged you, smiling bashfully, “You said we’d go and get boba together after this”
The whole group gasped in sync
“A DATE!” Jeongin yelled, mouth hung open, pointing at the two of you like you were some kind of aliens
“okAY WHO THE HELL HAS BEEN STORMING AREA 51″ Yelled Felix as the rest of the group looked at him, unimpressed
Woojin rolled his eyes and grabbed your hand, dragging you away before any of the boys could protest.
“I’ve been thinking, Y/N” Woojin said to you thoughtfully as you two walked along the path to go to the boba cafe “I know Jeongin was joking earlier, but...would you like this to be a date?”
Your eyes widened and your cheeks reddened, mirroring Woojin’s.
“I-I would love it” You smiled to him, earning that toothy grin that you loved so much
