1. princess mononoke (reminds me that the world is good, people are good even when we do bad things, and nature is the highest power there is)

2. my own private idaho (where do i even start. river and keanu. gritty, beautiful queerness. avant-garde masterpiece)

3. wall-e (like mononoke, gives me hope for a future where we can care for the interconnected web that is each other, our world, and ourselves)

4. dead poets society (is it even a comfort movie? probably not, but it realigns how i view myself as a writer and member of the human race)

5. up (taught me gently how to handle grief)

6. indiana jones and the last crusade (sparked the history lover within me. cool bible stuff. blowing up nazis.)

7. good will hunting (robin williams.. i don’t even know what to say. one of the best screenplays of all time. one of the best stories of all time)
