About: A train ride after school with Kenma (´ᴗ`)

Genre: Fluff

Word Count: 973

Multiple voices drowned in the crowded train station as you, along with Kenma and Kuroo waited for the loudspeaker to announce that your train home was boarding. The atmosphere was busy but also tiring. After all, it was after school and work meaning that many people were taking the bullet train home with drowsy eyes.

“Man, today was exhausting...” you paused, yawning from your lack of energy. Kuroo sighed as his shoulders slouched forward a little. His eyes closed and eyebrows knitted together.

“It wasn’t that bad.” Kenma was an exception, he remained quite energized by some means. He just stood there occasionally tapping his digits onto the small phone screen. You and Kuroo gave him a deadpan look as he was usually the tired one.

“It’s all that staying up and playing video games, am I right?” You glanced at Kenma, nudging his shoulder, a smug smile played its way onto your face. Kenma just peeped at you with an expression that said “what?” while Kuroo attempted to hold in a chuckle.

“Or perhaps the certain thoughts someone was keeping you up?” Kuroo was feeling cheeky and gave Kenma a sly smirk as he teased him. Kenma stopped tapping at his phone and glared over at Kuroo.

“Kuroo, knock it off…” A blush rising to his face as he started to analyze the whole situation, trying to find a way out. Kuroo just kept teasing him until you told him to stop and then you asked Kenma who the lucky girl was. He didn’t say much, as he wanted for it to remain a secret for a little longer.

You were happy for him if he did have a crush on some girl at school, yet you felt disheartened. It was an odd feeling that never really had occurred to you until recently. You found yourself always having Kenma in your train of thought. Every word he spoke was never missed by your ears and as of lately, you’ve been hanging around him more often.

Crackling sounds of the speaker in the station were immediately heard when it turned on, but almost being missed by your ears. “The train from Tokyo to Nerima is now boarding. Have a good day.” You three walked towards one of the entrances of the train, stumbling into it, trying to find a seat. Luckily, there were three seats next to each other that were empty so you went to the middle seat while Kuroo and Kenma sat on either side of you.

The train was quiet besides the noise that was created as it rolled on top of the thick, iron tracks. It was one of the perks of riding the train home after a hard day. The occasional swaying motion started to lull you into sleep as your arms hung to your side and your head leaned back against the wall of the train. As you tried to stay awake, you decided to plug in your earbuds and play a playlist with some of your favorite songs.

Kenma glanced at your fogged state, a tiny grin appearing as he went back to look at his phone. You were cute, and Kenma felt as if this was an obvious fact to anyone. There was just something about the way you lived every day that made him so drawn to you. It was just the fact that every time he thought about you, he couldn't help but grin.

With your eyelids getting heavier by the minute, you eventually chose to rest your vision just for a little. This led you to fall into a light slumber, as you quit resisting your tiredness. The swaying of the train rocked your body from side to side until your head tilted softly onto his shoulder. Kenma jolted slightly at the sudden touch his vision flickering over to your face.

He could hear the music leaking out of your wired earbuds. Your expression told him that you were finally getting to relax after a long day. Stray strands of hair fell across your face whenever you shifted around. Kenma was a tad bit shocked but, he loved the weight of your head laying on top of his shoulder.

Something about it just made him feel warm, he knew his cheeks were painted a light pink at this point. When Kuroo noticed, he just stared at the scene before him. He teases Kenma only for him to give him a look of irritation.

You started to stir and Kenma felt your limp hand brush up against his thigh. His breath hitched, his heart pounded more than it had ever in his life as he tried to remain completely still. Kenma just gazed at your hand and back at you face, gently holding your hand within his own.

His eyes wandered over the posters that were splayed over the train thinking about the time you two met. It was as simple as a random day in class. You went over to him and asked him about the video game he was playing on his PSP since you were a little curious. He remembered rambling on and on about the game he was playing as you listened attentively.

Everything that was happening at the moment just felt right. The feeling of his slim fingers enveloping yours. Your soft hair that brushed up against his cheek tickling him ever so often. A grin could be spotted on your face and you snuggled further into his shoulder, grabbing hold of his hand just a little tighter.

Maybe he'll tell you how he feels about you. Maybe not. Only time will tell what is to come between you and him. But he hopes that soon, you'll know and more moments like this could happen in the near outlook of daily life.

Fun fact/Note: The rural area in Japan that Kuroo and Kenma live in is called Nermia so I thought that was cool. Also idk if adding Kuroo made him look like a third wheel but he was only there to tease lolol!! Also this has been in my drafts for awhile now so yeah :D
