yeonjun was waiting patiently on the couch, waiting for you. he fiddled on and off with his fingers, anxiety kicking in as he hoped everything looked perfect for you. he knew this wasn't going to help the situation at hand but this gesture was his way of saying, 'no matter what, i'll always be here for you in every way.' this time it meant cleaning the apartment thoroughly; airing it out; spraying Febreeze everywhere (at the right amount); washing the dishes; doing the laundry,...essentially every single little errand that needed to be done because you both just didn't have the time that week. finally, he bought your favourite cake from the bakery downstairs to accompany the dinner he ordered. thai food always hits home for you.

why am i so bad at cooking, though?

i hope the food will taste good. never tried anything from this restaurant before...

he looked at his phone screen, 9.10 pm. the sound of raindrops splattering on the windows made him turn to the view of the city’s skyscrapers and high-rise buildings.

she should be back soon.

as soon as he said it, a moment later, you appeared at the door.

you were drenched in water.

'i forgot to bring the umbrella,' an embarrassed smile shone on your face as you let him take your coat off. after placing it in the dryer, he turned to you and planted a peck on your nose.

'how is it you still manage to look beautiful in every weather?' he asked and made his way to the kitchen.

'i guess i'm just lucky,' you replied with an adorable smirk that made his face turn red.

once the aroma of the house filled your nose, together with the delicious food waiting for you at the dinner table, you clasped your hands together and screeched.

'oh my god, yeonjun?? this is so so wonderful, oh my god i don't even...' words trailed off, naturally, as you went to hug him ( a bit too tightly).

'i hope you like it, y/n. i love you so much.'

you looked up to his face, went on your tiptoes and placed a soft kiss on his lips. all you wanted to tell him at that moment was that you loved it. you love him. more than he realised.

‘make sure to leave the umbrella in the car next time!’

note:: first thing i've written in a long, long while, hopefully it's good ♡ i have a lisp so i've been thinking abt these for a while!!

Yeonjun::

it was one of the first things he noticed about you

but he never said anything, or teased you

which made you assume he never noticed somehow ??

but he knew what it was like to be teased Constantly & he figured you got enough of it elsewhere

it was a relief to you anyway, to have one person who wouldn't poke fun at the way you talked

the other members did tease occasionally

and one day, after a while, yeonjun was able to tell you'd gotten fed up

but they continued to mess around

so he stepped in, and told them all to stop and apologize

to which they did, which was a bit of a shock

not that they had apologized, but that he'd stood up for you

you thanked him later on and he promised to not let them tease you anymore

Soobin::

he honestly did not notice at all

he was too busy falling head over heels for you

until somebody made fun of you while you two were hanging out together

he didn't say anything as it happened, he was a bit too confused

when you were alone with him next, he asked about it

you were honestly surprised he had never noticed

but still you rattled off the list of words everyone always asked you to pronounce to show him

he laughed a little bit at the worst ones

but he also said how he thought it was endearing and he didn't care about it

from then on, whenever someone teased you he'd ask them not to

and if they refused, he'd make sure to remove you from their presence almost immediately

Beomgyu::

beomgyu instantly honed in on your lisp

and so the teasing began

it was never very mean

and it was bearable.... at first

you hid how much it really bothered you from him for as long as you could

until you had a particularly hard day after an already hard week

and he decided to tease you as soon as he saw you

now you weren't one to cry about much

but you burst into tears right in front of him

he was very, very confused

when you told him why after you'd calmed down

he pulled you into his arms and apologized rapid fire for at least an hour

after that, he promised to stop teasing you and bought you dinner for the next month

Taehyun::

like yeonjun, he noticed right away with how observant he is

and he instantly blurted out that he thought it was cute

though that was the only time he ever said anything like that

he almost always stared at your lips when you talked to other people

which was more than flustering for you

and caused you to trip over words on more than one occasion

he also noticed that and would laugh to himself

however, he never teased you about the lisp itself

and would glare at anyone who did

there was the one time hueningkai mocked a word you had said

and instantly taehyun smacked him on the arm and told him to knock it off

after that, none of the members said anything about your lisp again

Heuningkai::

he didn't quite notice until you'd hung out a few times

and he teased you a bit

but was always able to tell when he went too far or when it upset you, even though you never said anything

so he stopped, for the most part

he made sure you always knew how cute he thought it was though

and was constantly complimenting it

he also kept other people from teasing you

keeping you close when you went out places

and giving dirty looks to those that looked like they were going to say anything or who laughed

not the the looks were very intimidating

soobin had asked if you wanted to come and watch while they were filming the mv for runaway

once you agreed, it made him so happy

but that all changed when the director announced that they would be jumping into a pool

soobin gets so anxious and you can see it

right after the boys jump into the water and are all out of the pool, you pull him aside

and give him a kiss

his mind instantly drifts away from the fact that he’s literally drenched in water

“that’s it?? ☹️”

pouts until you give him another one

at this point, soobin doesn’t even remember jumping into the water

bc now all that fills his mind is the thought of you kissing him again

the others were sitting in the dorm while watching having a scary movie marathon

each minute that passed by of the current movie had only scared yeonjun more and more

but he didn’t want to ruin the mood by asking if something else could be played

at this point he’s so creeped out that he’s hiding his face behind your arm

so you decided to occupy his attention by kissing him

poor yeonjun is too shaken up by the movie to even understand what’s happening when you first start kissing kim

omg yeonjun forgots that there’s four other people in the same room

he’ll most likely pull you into his lap and pay attention to you for the rest of the movie

like holding playing with your hands

if he ever finds out that you kissed him so he would feel scared, he’ll start faking it

it wasn’t bad during the first few seconds but everything past that part honest scared him

note: i’m finally back! i’m so happy i got to write hueningkai fluff! enjoy <3

being heuningkai’s childhood friend has always held a special place in your heart. you’ve watched him develop into his full potential and only wish for him to unleash more of it. from him showing you the songs he wrote on the piano in elementary to him showing you his first album after he finally debuted, you admire his growth the most.

you always let him know how proud you are of him as you go to cheer him on as much as you can. and if you don’t get to, you still celebrate by spending the day together at the park you two grew up at and talking until dawn. it’s what a genuine friend does, and you’ve never doubted that he supports what you do just as much.

as more success comes along for him, you spend weeks apart at a time. you miss him, but this only makes you appreciate the days you get to see him even more. you might be okay with times like these, but he feels like you might think he’s pushing you away. so to make up for this, he tries to go all out. he takes you to amusement parks, wins you all of these prizes, he gives you gifts whenever you’re together, he’ll even rent out a whole theatre to watch a movie that you were excited for with you. you know this is just him trying to show his appreciation, but you weren’t materialistic or conditioned to accept somebody doing the most for you. if anything, it made you uncomfortable because you felt as if you were taking advantage of his success. and you couldn’t do that even if you tried your hardest.

he comes over to your place and when you open the door, he’s dressed up very elegantly. you let him in and ask, “kai. why are you dressed in a suit at 4 pm on a monday?”

“i have the day off and i made us reservations at the restaurant i told you about. they’re at 6, so you should get ready.”

you try your best to hold back a groan and you slightly pout. “why are you doing this?”

he furrows his brows. “why not? why can’t i treat you to a nice dinner? you deserve it, y/n.”

“no, kai. i mean why have you been doing things like this for me the past month? you’ve been showering me with gifts and always taking me out. i really appreciate everything you do for me, but you know how i am. i cannot keep accepting all of this!”

“but i want you to. listen, you’ve been there for me since we were kids. you’ve always supported me in not only my career but whenever i have the days when i’m emotionally exhausted. even when i feel happy, you’re there. i know we have our separate lives, but i don’t like knowing that i may come off as if i’m pushing you away. after over 10 years of friendship how can i? we’ve-”

“you don’t have to worry about that, kai. you’re not pushing me away. i would never let you.” you smile at him and take his arm in your hands to help him relax from the rant he was about to go on. “i’m understanding, remember? you always tell me it’s your favorite thing about me. and my favorite thing about you isn’t stemmed from the materialistic...” you trail off as you start to get a bit nervous.

he looks at you and you look away. “what are you trying to say, y/n?”

then the feelings you’ve been trying to avoid start to slowly wash over you. yes, kai was your best friend but you’re not going to deny that maybe you wanted something more than that. could it be that everytime you see him after long periods, your heart flutters? or could it be that he always tries his best to take care of you, even if he does it wrong?

you sigh and look up at him. “what i’m trying to say is, i don’t need money. all i need is you. whenever we say goodbye, i always look forward to the next time i see you. yes, i miss you playing songs on the piano for me. yes, i miss the days of excitement when you debuted. but we’ve only been creating more memories kai, despite not being together everyday like we used to. and aside from that, i love seeing you on tv and giving the performances of your life. you never changed with me. so please don’t think that you have to make up for something that’s out of your control, because you never fail to make me feel cared for. that’s something that cannot be bought.”

from the outer perspective, it couldn’t be more obvious that he has strong feelings for you, and it goes beyond friendship. but to you he was simply being hueningkai, always thoughtful and loyal at heart. his actions can’t mean that he likes you as more than a friend... right?

at this point you’re looking down again, your face a bit hot. he lifts your chin up so you could look at him and says, “i hope you know that you are deserving of appreciation. i could show you all forms of it, if you’d let me?”

you look at him and open your mouth slightly in shock. he almost giggles at your reaction. “if i let you what?-“

“if you let me show you more forms of appreciation as more than just your friend. as more than someone you’ve known since you were young. as more than someone who can’t stop counting down the days to see you everytime you leave them…” he loses his train of thought after looking in your eyes and now you’re both blushing.

“kai…” you say after a minute of thinking about how you both got to this position. was it always meant to be like this? were you supposed to end up with him in the end? that’s what it felt like. and the only ending you’re thinking about is how this is something you don’t want to reach it. “i’d love for you to show me.”

he lights up and he feels his nerves simmer down, almost at the same pace your heart does. “i promise i’ll try my best to not go overboard sometimes…” he giggles shyly.

“mmm sometimes?” you giggle too, and you bring him in for a hug. “all you need to promise me is that you’ll stay here with me and that you’ll play the piano for me from time to time.”

“i’ll play the piano for you as many times as you want.” he kisses your forehead and somehow it naturally feels like it’s what he should have been doing all along.

YEONJUN

Everywhere you went with Yeonjun has been swamped with fans and paparazzi. You couldn’t get a moment alone- you can’t even hold hands with him. So of course, you were frustrated since well, you wanted to spend time with your boyfriend. So Yeonjun, being Yeonjun, he planned a date. Only for yourselves.

“Jun, my love, by privacy, I meant… I don’t know- stay at home? Eat dinner? Not rent out a whole restaurant.” You muttered, staring at the rows and rows of empty tables. The usually packed restaurant was now silent except for the soft jazz music playing. “Well this is how I do it, love.” Yeonjun replies, a stupidly big smile on his face. “God, you’re so lucky I’m in love with you.” You mutter, rolling your eyes.

SOOBIN

“How did you find such a nice place?” The smell of coffee wafted in the air as a persian cat rubbed against your arm. The cafe wasn’t too crowded except for a few baristas and guests- excluding the line of fans waiting outside the door. The cafe was cozy and calm, pillows and cat toys scattered everywhere. You picked up the cat and it nuzzles its nose at you- making you giggle.

“My friend owns it- do you like it?” Soobin asks as he observes you playing with a cat. “Yes, of course!” You smiled excitedly at Soobin- in which he sighs in relief to. “Come on. I know you want to play with the cats.” You say, smiling warmly at Soobin- making his heart flutter for the thousandth time.

TAEHYUN

This particular date didn’t actually feel like a date- it was actually just a simple time where you could hang out together. “Taehyun- if you keep insisting on putting in 3 spoons of vanilla extract you’re going to ruin the cake!” You threatened as you took the bottle of extract. “Y/N wait- you need to add a lot of vanilla extract in cake you know! To make it taste like vanilla!” Taehyun scolded back, pointing at you accusingly.

“Idiot! We’re literally making strawberry cake!” You say, breaking into a fit of giggles. “If you put in 3 spoons of vanilla extract, its not gonna taste like strawberries anymore, my love.” You giggle, leaning against Taehyun’s shoulder and wrapping your arms around his waist. In times like these, Taehyun thinks on how grateful he is to have you. How grateful he is to wake up to you. “I love you.” Taehyun mutters under his breath, and even if you don’t hear him, you know it yourself.

BEOMGYU

Beomgyu sighed softly as he leaned against you, snuggling against your shoulder. It had been a very stressful day at work for Beomgyu, he just honestly wanted to give you cuddles. “Hey, gyu. You tired, my love?” Beomgyu nods softly against your arm, making you chuckle. “You look very stressed- hey- why don’t I take care of you? Would you like that?” Beomgyu looks up curiously. “Okay… but don’t ruin my hair!”

Next thing you know, you were on top of Beomgyu, applying a face mask on him. Beomgyu was looking up at you a soft smile on his face as you brushed the mixture on his face. “You look so cute.” You giggled softly, motioning towards his hair which was tied up. “You feeling okay, my love?” You asked as Beomgyu was almost drifting off into sleep. “Yes. I am very comfortable, my love. Thank you, my dear.” Beomgyu said, a soft smile on his face. Your cheeks warmed up- feeling safe and cozy in Beomgyu’s touch.

HEUNINGKAI

“Kai! Don’t do that! It’s hella cold here!” You shouted at Hueningkai, your eyebrows furrowed together. Heuningkai only laughed manically, waving his hands like a madman. “Can’t handle my shots, Y/N?!” Heuningkai teased, his head tipping back in laughter. “Oh I’ll get you for that!” You shouted back, taking a fist of snow in your hands. You threw the fist of snow at Heuningkai, hitting his arm. “Ow! Hey Y/N, that hurt!” Heuningkai whined, making you giggle. “I did say that I would get you, right?” You giggled.

Snow was falling from the sky, covering the ground with a heavy layer of white. You were both stuffed in sweaters and jackets for the cold weather. It was a simple idea, really, Heuningkai wanted to play in the snow and you were bored. So here you were, throwing massive snowballs at each other. “KAI! YOU’RE TOO FAST!” You shouted as loud as you can at the figure far in front of you. “AAAAH IM SORRY-” Heuningkai shouted back, prancing back to you. “Are you okay?” Heuningkai asked softly once he was with you again. You finally took the time to appreciate his beauty- his tan skin, his sparkly eyes- he was angelic. “My boyfriend is so pretty.” You muttered, kissing Heuningkai’s cheek softly. “GAH Y/N YOU CANT JUST SAY THAT!-”

when you come out the dressing room and ask what he’s doing, yeonjun instantly starts grinning

ends up making you do matching couple lockscreens with him, not that you mind

you stopped by the dance practice room to visit taehyun who was on a lunch break

but left to go to the vending machine, leaving your phone in the practice room

suddenly it started ringing and would literally not stop

this kind of worried taehyun, so he thought abt bringing it to you

but once he picked it up it mysteriously stopped ringing, and was going to put your phone back down until your lockscreen caught his attention

the cutest smile appeared on his face when he noticed that your lockscreen is a picture of him

omg even his dimple is showing 🤧

quickly decided to get his own phone and snaps a few pics of him doing different poses

prob did a peace sign in most of them

and then proceeds to send them to you

“y/n! you should check your phone, there’s a surprise on there for you”

he may not show it, but your satisfied reaction makes his heart beat x100 faster

you two were cuddling while watching netflix

but after running out of snacks you got up to refill in the kitchen, leaving your phone on the couch

his cheeks and ears start to warm and tinge with pink

even though you’re his lockscreen too

is still looking at your phone when you come back with the snacks

but before you can even say anything, he’s just adoringly staring at you

he totally smells like laundry softner

soobin couldn’t help but feel shy as you snuggled your face further into his neck

his heart started beating so fast and anyone could see that his ears were red from miles away

nonetheless he still wrapped his arms around you, squeezing just as tightly as you were

he may be shy at first but quickly adapts to it
