this isn't to diss anyone who's looking for aro/ace rep in the skamverse but it's just so obvious how predominant not just white people, but white "activists" are in the fandom. like, so many people will much more readily criticise the writing regarding queer rep while actively ignoring any discussion of race in these shows. you are trampling over the minefield of racism that is the skamverse and saying, "well at least she might be ace so 🤷🏻‍♀️"

like, this is exactly why a bigger chunk of people (especially on twitter) still loathe skam españa for that 5 second comment about pansexuality in season 2 than for the massive fucking all-around disrespect that was amira's season. this is exactly why wtfock remains a fan favourite thanks to robbander or whatever despite the mistreatment of yasmina and kato's whole existence. and this is exactly why people keep labelling ava as too angry and too harsh and too annoying and undeserving of a season over their uwu baby mailin who MIGHT have the possibility of being ace (and apparently there are some rare specimens over on instagram who would even prefer constantin season??).

for them, queer issues will always, every time, without a doubt, take priority over poc. not that this is a fucking competition but the disparity is blatant. maybe because the self-introspection makes them too uncomfortable, idk honestly, you tell me.
