#he just wants death to take him bc he's grief stricken over yen #im going to sob #also i realize smth else i like abt the books in comparison to the show #bc theres so much humor & heartfelt moments among the action of the stories #when there IS a tragedy & something bad happens #it's DEVASTATING #and like..... i kinda feel like in hindsight...... s1 didn't have that??? #like it shoved war and tragedy and horrible shit (geralt dealing with Renfri & the fall of cintra) #right in my face in ep 1 #and it was just varying degrees of gritty and bleak from them forward #bc even joyful things in the show got Fucked #like... Jaskier's friendship? a source of joy? scream at him on a mountain #yen and geralt in eps 5 & 6? give them that whole fight on the mountain #......idk the show just seems so much more Edgy and Grimdark to me now in comparison to the books #and i think it has alot to do with The Timeline #:/ #mine #hannah reads witcher
