randomly just thought abt that post again thats like "haha this guy doesnt embrace or accept his desire and reaches for a position that he isnt meant to have in order to escape it but thru this only increases the rule of desire over his life" and im. i cant stop thinking abt how much this is fitting for madara .. like this notion of reaching for something in order to escape smth else .. its so fitting for him. madara tries to escape his desires (read: his humanity) by reaching for power but the mere act of reaching for power (read: control) is a desire-based action for him so the more desperately he is trying to escape his desires the more he is driven by them. madara's desire for power is rooted in his fear to trust other people. trusting and connecting to other ppl is smth inherently human, madara fears his own vulnerabilities and thus his humanity. but the desire to control everything and erase all ur weaknesses and govern them thru the use of rationality (over feelings) in and of itself is .. smth intrinsically human as well. humans are kind of. made up of this struggle i think between having needs/desires/vulnerabilities but then also the ability to reflect on them and desire to control them. the more he is trying to escape his vulnerability the more he is driven and influenced by it, the absence of it is thus also its presence. instead of embracing his desire to connect to other ppl and trust them and embrace that it will involve making himself vulnerable, he is now ruled by the desire to Never be vulnerable and doing Anything in his power to reach for godhood and deny himself what he actually wants. the rule of desire over his life can thus not be escaped, it only increases the more he attempts to escape it ..
its a good analogy also i think to the fate narrative. madara feels that he has no control over his life, the same things keep happening to him over and over, he somehow feels Trapped so he tries to escape that by, yeah, reaching for power, but the more Power he gains, the more trapped he is, the further Away he gets, seemingly, from his humanity and his vulnerabilities, the more power/control he absorbs .. the less actual control he has .. cuz the more power he gains, the more closer he gets to his inevitable, predestined and drastic destruction. its like, madara's entire narrative has this theme of him desperately Struggling to reach for control, to get some semblence of control over his life, like thats what the infinite tsukuyomi is all about for him. it is about wanting control over himself and his world but he never gets to a point where he has any actual control .. neither over his narrative, nor his desires .. madara's narrative entirely Revolves around his desires, its about him being corrupted by them. its like this tragical contrast between having immeasurable power on one hand but no power at all at the same time. trying to escape ur desires but the more u are trying, the more ur desires cause u to escalate and lose control over urself and ur actions. and the more u are trying to govern ur narrative, the more u are going exactly the path that's been predestined for u right from the start
