I don't know about yall and your headcanons, but I can't imagine Armin's parents.
For me, he will always be the sweet guy who lives with grandpa and helps take care of him. I don't know why but the idea of his grandpa canon in the anime stayed in my head, and I can't imagine Armin's parents. In college he could be completely playful about games, HQs, movies, computers and then "I won't be able to go, I have to take my grandpa to the square today... ", "Huh, maybe someday? I have to pay the bills later hahaha..." and like WITHOUT COMPLAINING or being like the other asshol boys, he simply lives with his grandfather and does everything for get him well, happy and safe. Armin may be the biggest nerd in college, or the gamer guy, the super serious and responsible strategist, but when you meet him and go to his house waiting to see him sitting at the computer wanting nothing with anything as an any bum, you see him with completely different eyes after perceiven how organized he is. You feel cozy over there, a soft and well lined sofa accommodates you, knitting lining is so cute. From there you already begin to notice how Armin left the house aways SO clean, making it as evident as possible of how hard-working he is. You can see that things are very clean according to the brightness you see on the furniture and tiles, organized shelves, a slight smell of disinfectant and a yuuuummy smell of bread baked in the air. There are beautiful fruits in the basket, cookies, breads, all pretty and so... cosy? He did all this, he cleans all this? And from Armin's shy feature explaining the bus schedules to Grandpa while you eat the delicious cookies he baked (because he learned to cook to not leave his old grandpa in the kitchen), he knows you're looking and gets so shhshsj nervous. Your eyes then fall straight from Armin to his grandfather, who opened a confused and playful smile to his grandson. "... Not grandpa. At this time it's another bus, you can't take this one. If you catch this one you can get lost, okay? So you need to be careful and go see if..." your ears melt with the soft voice of the blond. So thoughtful. Armin had his body all stiff standing up while the three of you stood in the living room, still with his long shirts, his baggy pants and socks with slippers. You three eat a cake and have a tea to the sound of not much besides your voices, the sound of birds outside and the tic tac of the kitchen clock. It's sunny outside, a warmer spring weather, a smell of coffee exhaling from the kitchen.... ooooooooh. The house is not rich, but it is so beautiful and cozy, a living room and a beautiful kitchen with flowers on the tiles.. Armin never was to flaunt the best Jordans, or iPhone of last generation, he has always been a normal and humble scholar. A nice house, so nice to be going to nap in the afternoon zzzzzz. I would die to go have tea and talk about everything with him, a tea with carrot cake or cracker while we read a book... I'm delirious. This is based on my fantasies here in Brazil, with beautiful cozy Brazilian cuisines on a hot day and a unique aesthetic of ours, nothing much of 1st world and blablabla, but rather a beautiful and quiet house? A cute radio on the shelf and Grandpa sleeping in the room while he shows me a new game coming out for free on XBOX gamepass.

Hey Lottie, have you heard about that guy, Seamus Blackley, who got yeast from the inside of an ancient Egyptian beaker and made sourdough starter and baked bread with it? I think it's so cool we can have a somewhat-direct connection to humanity from so long ago, through food. It reminds me of when I baked bread on April 19th just because some Roman guy did once and wrote it down, but with added microbiology!
I have yes! Several people have messaged me about it over the last 24 hrs and I’ve been too drained to actually respond properly to people or to talk about it. But heres a link for everyone to read up on it.
Seamus Blackley (who I’m pretty sure was one of the designers of the XBOX so double wtf), along, and I can’t stress this enough, with Egyptologist Dr Serena Love and Microbiologist Richard Bowman (who refers to himself as a Gastro-egyptologist) because the media keeps mentioning these two as an afterthought and they’re the scientists here, reactivated bread yeast from a 4500 year old Egyptian bread mould and made fresh sourdough bread with it.
Twitter thread on the process by Seamus Blackley here
