"Relapsed"? Haibara never stopped having feelings... It was painfully obvious in the school trip, and even when she blushed (with Gosho's equivalent of shojo bubbles in the background) during the Time Capsule chapter...

No, I wasn't talking about her feelings.

SPOILER ALERT ⚠️ (although it is unconfirmed).....

According to the infamous spoiler (lol), there is a brief moment in m26 where Ai decides on giving up her life.

Beneath her ice queen persona, she's a kind and considerate person. Seeing a character, who struggled with suicidal thoughts due to feeling guilty and wanting to make up for her "crime/sin" (in quotations coz I feel she didn't have much of a choice since BO basically groomed her & forced her to stay/make aptx) to the point of willing to "sacrifice" herself quite literally, then improving and yet still having/struggling with those thoughts sometimes is sad. We have seen her mental health improve as the series progressed but maybe unless the BO is completely taken care of, she won't get to relax and heal fully. But also healing isn't linear and I do like seeing how much she has progressed, even with the BO around and I hope she can be ok regardless of whether the BO is in jail or out in the open.

OK, admittedly I only briefly read the spoilers once so I didn't really get to focus till I got this ask & read the spoiler again but I see now that Ai eventually fights and overcomes that thought so yayyy 💖.

When the teaser of Ai remembering her memories came, the theory of maybe she's drowning/dying came from a twitter mutual, (since it's a popular belief that one's life memories flashes in front of their eyes before one dies) so we kinda knew something was going to be addressed. But I think it is kind of precious that they put a t.swift bridge kind of twist to it and turned it into the reason she decides to stay alive.

Also since it was only happy memories she had flashbacks of, we should've in hindsight guessed that they weren't her dying flashbacks.
