I feel like my media analysis skill is getting duller over time. Maybe bc i dont engage with fictional stories as much anymore or maybe bc i spent 3 years watching nothing but naruto shippuden lol

#but like when i read stone butch blues i didn't really read as a fictional story #by that i took it fairly face value. I didn't think about hidden meaning by symbolism or themes #and while i actually think a lot of the meaning in stone butch blues is bluntly stated #I'm still probably missing stuff #i read mostly nonfiction and academic nonfiction at that so everything is stated as clearly as humanly possible #i feel like i need a list of questions to prompt me to think deeper about the text now days #i guess this is to say reading fictional stories is a skill and it is one i have found myself lacking in :[
