my mom likened the way Americans and europeans are giving opinions on the situation in israel/gaza to the hunger games. they're just sitting there comfortably, looking at the tv picking a side, while we're here dying and suffering.

the way the internet looks right now is so grossly voyeuristic, as if anyone there has any say or right to give an opinion like they've went through anything close to this. yesterday i saw a youtube sketch comedian who made a funny video likening israel to godzilla and the massacre of 1400 civilians as throwing a brick at godzilla. the comments were nothing but praise and jokes about how true it is.

tip to all the non israelis/Palestinians here: shut up. the opinions you spread online don't help anyone. if you choose to give support to one person you're going to alienate another. the people who will see your posts are not our politicians, they are not hamas terrosits, they are innocent israelis and Palestinians looking online for a distraction to feel a fraction of normality during one of the worst things anyone here has ever faced. just please shut up. i know you live in a pro speech world but in this one situation, this one, extremely complicated, painful moment, your voice doesn't matter.
