Inktober 2022 - Pirate! AU

03 - Curse!

The say in the Heart of the ocean, lies the Golden Island. On the peak of it’s great mountain was the throne of the Maker from which they sculpted the world. 

But tales of riches will always breed greed and a man sought to claim it all. He sailed the seas for years, and passed through the eye of the great tempest. When he reached the Isle he discovered beaches made of gold dust and fruits that would banish all hungers. 

But man was never meant to know such riches and when he drank the water of the pure spring in the heart of the mountain his dark soul corrupted it. The water turned as black as tar and spread, killing the island with it’s blight that spread into the ocean. The bountiful fish were twisted into ferocious monsters and the endless blue sky clouded into darkest night. While the spring granted him immortality it came at a price and he was forever cursed.

Legend says he and his blighted crew sail the seas forever, seeking an end to their torment and consuming the hearts of men.
