HI WOULD YOU MIND IF I ASKED WHAT BRUSH AND PROGRAM YOU USE? I LOVE YOUR ART ASXHSKF....
Oh thank you! I use Clip Studio Paint to draw, highly recommend. Going to put brushes under the cut bc. well. I have a lot to say about them
Ok so I uh. I don't really stick to one kind of brush when I draw, I switch around a lot depending on whatever I'm feeling that day. I do have a few I really enjoy using though, like
Tumblr media
SU-Cream Pencil my beloved my dear my one and only, it's soft but thick in a way I really like! You have to download it but CSP has an asset store w/ a lot of free stuff made by other people. Literally the only reason why I even have this brush
Wet wash is another one I also like. Don't use it often, but it's an ideal watercolor brush imo.

CSP makes banger after banger of painterly brush I can't lie, esp all the oil paints. Regular Oil I use the least, but it's useful in blocking in color. Flat Brush is v v good for that kind of specific rectangular texture, but it does get kind of pixelated at high size. Thick Oil is my current fave, gives off a very textured and physical look I love. Not that good for blocking things in tho, because of the consistent size and darker specks inside the paint. That's what I usually use the Brush Pen for anyway, it's so good for both funky lineart and to get some good points and spikes in painting.
What I like to dub the Special Paint is something you need to download, it's something of a mix between oils and watercolor. I don't use it much anymore, but it's still a great brush.

Flat Marker is a really nice, multi-use brush. You can sketch with it. You can line with it. You can color with it. Hell, you can shade with it. Stupid good tool for when you just can't bother and still a really good one for when you can
Special Pencil has just. A very nice blend of sharpness and texture that's still soft enough to not completely overpower the art. Mwah. Delicious. Look at those lines, good for being both messy and crisp. You need to download it but the entire pack it comes from is very nice.

Ok this isn't a brush but I use it so often it might as well be w me. I use Multiply, Overlay, and Add (Glow) layers way too much, especially in combination. A lot of the details you see on my art is me just adjusting a lot of these layers over each other.
Multiply is good for both shading and coloring, surprisingly. If your palette has light colors and you use multiply on a single flat color, it gives you a more cohesive palette and it's very good.
Overlay I use less often, but it's very versatile and effects color on darker colors and lighter colors differently, great for patterns.
Add (Glow) is my preferred option for highlights. I'm not sure why CSP has two different options for Add, and a regular Add layer works fine, but I use this one. Classic and simple.
