I wish more artists drew Michiru with a full snout.

This was originally just meant to be a quick sketchy sequence, but after I drew myself in step 1 pretty well I was like "shit now I have to draw the rest just as good."

Paid a little closer attention to color detail on this one. I didn't go for the full pink-blue coloration scheme of the show, but I tried to evoke it with the lighting and shading. Background is a highly blurred version of the classic BNA poster with Michiru and Shirou, with the lyrics of the OP serving as a fancy overlay on top.

I'm personally very lukewarm on BNA- Show is incredibly stylish and it had a lot going for it world building wise, but hoo boy did it fumble the last few episodes and the handling of racism. It really should've just kept to slice of life, if you ask me. Still, it's got some highly TFable characters, like Shirou, Nazuna, Marie, and of course, Michiru.

I finished watching bna and I loved it! Such stylish and snappy animation and great animal character designs! I sketched these two yesterday. Michiru is a little more tanuki-ish here. I’ll be painting them after I finish my commissions.

What's bna about what's the story with the tanuki girl

Ok so BNA is about this girl named Michiru. One day she suddenly transforms into this tanuki with weird shape shifting powers. She escapes her hometown and goes to Anima City, a place where humanoid animals live separately and peacefully from the rest of humanity. Here Michiru meets Ogami, a police wolf with whom she teams up with in order to find out how to cure herself and go back to normal. Along the way she solves crimes, gets involved in shenanigans, and learns more about Anima City. The show is super fun and stylish, you should give it a watch!
