Time for the third part to the Futo mini-takeover! It's Casino time! This is one of those Casino Cover that end up sounding just a teeny bit sinister for some reason. I don't think I like it as much as my Village Cover of this theme, but it's not bad. What do you think would happen if Futo were to suddenly just appear in a modern casino lol

BLUEY QUOTES.
But Spruce is the one with the tree…? were Chip’s first thoughts upon coming to.
It took a second for his optics to adjust - only to be confronted by an eyeful of Toon. At least, it had to be a toon. Never seen one with a nose, but the gaudy costume gave it away. Fact that they were wearing a costume at all, really. Ben might’ve brought something up about Toon ‘party-stores’ last cross-departmental meeting, actually. Chip couldn’t remember for sure - he’d been too busy trying to ignore that cog-awful DONG! DONG! DONG!-ing in his audio-receptors.
The resounding collapse of his office-table, unable to sustain the damage of both throwing knives AND chainsaw teeth, cut off his thoughts and the echo of the 'toon’s' attempt at a zinger. He grumbled, trying to push himself up -
-- Only to find that the bugger was standing on his chest.

Campbelltown Take Top Spot
Campbelltown have extended their 2021 winning streak to 6 with a resounding 55 – 28 win over Vikings at Campbelltown Showground. The win combined with a couple of deferred matches for fellow unbeaten competition frontrunners Avondale and Shoalhaven, now sees Campbelltown sitting atop of the Table, five clear of second placed Avondale. The next three rounds of the IDRU Premiership will see the top sides up against each other which will make for some interesting times ahead.
Despite scoring nine tries to four the Quinnies cruised somewhat through the match against a depleted Vikings side. The day started poorly for the Wollongong club who were forced to forfeit 2nd Grade when they could only muster nine players for the early game. The depleted numbers also had an impact on the 1st Grade squad especially up front but the Blueys still managed to put in an eighty minute effort which had both sides working for the full period.
The Quinnies posted four first half tries for a Bonus Point 24 – 7 lead at the break. With the Campbelltown pack led by Flanker Aiden Tuilaepa getting the better of the breakdown the fleet footed Campbelltown backs took full toll. Despite some outstanding defence from Vikings center pairing of Lulia Lulia and Dylan Holtom, the Quinnies Halves provided very slick service for the outside backs to score early.
Fly Half Netane Masima was instrumental in most of the Campbelltown attack which saw Fullback Dan TalitigaLelevaga and winger Leti David Tupai score tries for a 10 – 0 lead after twenty minutes. Vikings pulled one back with a superb solo effort from Lulia who bumped off several defenders to keep the Blueys in the match with a converted try five minutes later.
In a sparkling five minute period Halfback Terry Fanolua combined brilliantly with Masima to produce two tries to earn an early bonus point. Masima running off his halfback produced the first when he kicked ahead, regathered from twenty out to score a try which he converted. Masima then broke away down the right side before kicking infield finding his halfback who scored with another conversion from Masima bringing up the halftime score-line of 24 - 7.
Within ten minutes of the break, Campbelltown center Atelemo Katoa combined with wingman Tupai to produce two tries down the right. Katoa scored first after receiving an inside pass from the winger to score wide out, then Tupai scored in the corner after accepting the ball from Katoa in a sweeping backline raid. With one conversion from Masima Campbelltowns lead was out to 36 – 7 still with thirty minutes to play.
Vikings led up front by Lock Matt Jones and skipper Joel Diggins showed plenty of spirit to take the game back up to the Quinnies resulting in a converted five pointer to workaholic Flanker Dane Nethery for a 14 – 36 score-line.
Fullback Lelevaga scored his second try on the end of a 50 meter backline movement before Flanker Aiden Tapueluelu took a sweet intercept running 30 meters to score Campbelltowns eighth touchdown for an unassailable 50 – 14 lead.
To their credit Vikings toiled hard which produced two more tries for the visitors with Lulia getting his second and replacement winger Patrick Kelly scoring a neat try down the left. A late try to Quinnies replacement winger Micah Schuster completed the scoring for a final 55 – 28 score-line.
Campbelltown were clearly the better side but their effort lacked authority at times and they will need to lift their intensity over the next few weeks of football. The strong Quinnies forward pack will be put to the test next week against Shoalhaven especially at scrum time, but the contest is sure to be of a high quality. Best for the Quinnies were back rowers Aiden Tuilvaga and Teniko Tanupopo with Halfback Terry Fanolua, Fly Half Netane Masima and outside backs Atelemo Katoa, Leti David Tupai, and fullback Dan TalitigaLelevaga outstanding.
Vikings Coach Phill Green wouldn’t be too disappointed with his depleted side’s effort Joel Diggins, Matt Jones and Dane Nethery were strong with Halves Michel Maidment and Tom Sawden very busy throughout and centers Lulia Lulia and Dylan Holtom working very well.
The major Points in the IDRU Player of the Year Award went to Quinnies Fly Half Netane Masima with the two open side Flankers Campbelltown’s Aiden Tuilaepa and Blueys Dane Nethery taking the minor points. Campbelltown retains the John Haine Challenge Shield.
Campbelltown 55 (Leti David Tupai 2 tries, Terry Fanolua 1 try, Atelemo Katoa 1 try, Aiden Tuilaepa 1 try, Micah Schuster 1 try, Dan TalitigaLelevaga 2 tries, 1 goal, Netane Masima 1 try, 4 goals)

X-Men Novelization (Part One)
Chapter Five
The five mutants waited in the back of the plane and struggled to speak over the noise of the engine. Raven stood in front of the men as she spoke.
“We’re almost to the mine where Lucifer currently hides,” Raven called out. “If our plane tries to land anywhere in the mine’s vicinity then Lucifer’s men will know we’re coming. Given your lack of experience with parachutes--
“I’ll lower us down safely, Raven, there’s no cause for concern” Erik interrupted. “I would worry more about your own safety than our’s.”
Raven smiled as the hatch the plane opened. The air roared and the four men winced against the rush of wind, but Raven was nonplussed. She checked her parachute to ensure it was secure one last time and turned toward the hatch. She called over her shoulder “Don’t be so sure,” before leaping out of the plane.
Hank, whose pallid look only worsened at the sight of someone leaping from a plane, leaned over to Charles next to him. “This isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I crossed the pond to study under you, Professor.” Despite Hank’s best efforts from preventing him from doing so, Erik overheard.
“This is the exact kind of skill our kind should be learning” Erik said. He unstrapped himself and stood up, waiting for Sean’s signal. The others unstrapped themselves as well.
“Alright, Erik,” Sean called out, less strain in his voice than the others carried in theirs. “You ready, boyo?”
Erik held out his hands. “Immensely.”
The four men leapt from the plane, wind whistling by their ears and their hair whipping in every direction. Hank squeezed his eyes shut, trying to flatten his body out to slow his descent. He felt the magnetic tug on the wires in his jumpsuit as Erik guided the fall of the four men through the night. Hank tried not to scream, and he discovered a certain thrill he had not known before that took the urge away entirely.
The four men landed in heavy grass, with Erik proving less gentle with Hank and Sean than he had been with Charles and himself. Hank toppled over into the grass, his eyes adjusting to the darkness as he tried to shoot Erik a look. By the time his eyes opened the other men were already moving through the grass, crouched down and as silent as possible.
Charles’ voice appeared in the minds of the others. Establishing telepathic contact. Raven, are you there?
Raven’s voice joined Charles’. I’m already inside. The men’s uniforms aren’t hard to copy, but you won’t have as easy a time getting in as I did. There are two guards at the entrance.
Sean, leading the group of four men, parted the grass in front of him slightly and confirmed Raven’s report. At the mouth of the mine there were indeed two masked figures guarding the entrance.
This is where I come in Sean said. He snuck around the perimeter as the other men watched, disappearing into the grass.
Charles, I’m scared Hank said.
Everything’s going to be fine, Hank Charles assured him.
We aren’t supposed to be here.
You didn’t have to come Erik said, and Hank’s face reddened as he realized he was not speaking to Charles privately. He bit his lip and started to growl, but his attention was split when he saw Sean sneaking up behind the guards.
There was a sudden high-pitched note, sharp and lasting less than a second. The three men in the grass clutched their ears instinctively, and when Hank looked up he could see that the two guards lay unconscious from their proximity to Sean’s scream.
Alright, boyos, come on ahead.
They joined Sean at the mouth of the mine, and all four men started their descent into the dimly lit cave. A single string of lights lead the way down the shoddy stairs.
Did you...did you kill them? Hank asked.
Didn’t need to Sean answered. But if you got any scruples about killin’ I suggest ya close yer eyes fer what’s next.
There was an eery silence in the mines as the men tried to pad their footsteps. Charles stopped suddenly and threw his arms out to stop the other men. Something’s wrong, he said, Raven’s in trouble. Raven! Raven, are you there?
There was no answer. Charles turned to look at the others, and Sean drew his gun from its holster on his chest as Erik drew a large Bowie knife. Hank suddenly felt vulnerable at the realization that he was unarmed, and stupid for not thinking to arm himself. When he noticed that Charles was also unarmed he felt a confidence grow in himself for the first time since leaving England.
Slower than they had before, the men continued down the stairs as Charles spoke to them. Something isn’t right. I should be able to at least sense Raven’s presence even if she isn’t conscious. Unless she--
A new voice interrupted Charles’, one that was low and rumbled and spoke with precision. Aah, so these are the minds of the interlopers?
Sean tightened his grip on his gun, leaning in to Charles and whispering “Who the ‘ell is that, Charlie?”
The rumbling voice started to laugh in the minds of the men. Did you think you could escape my watchful eye for even a moment? Who are you brave and stupid men to think you could sneak up on Lucifer himself?
At the bottom of the stairs a large wooden door blocked the way forward. The door was clearly constructed by Lucifer’s men, and heavy locks lined the edge. “He’s trying to prod into our minds,” Charles announced, making no effort to mask his voice. “I’m not letting him.”
“Good work, Charles,” Erik said, patting his friend on the shoulder and stepping past him. “I’ll take it from here.” Erik placed his hand on the door and took in a breath before releasing it. The door went flying off its hinges, revealing a massive cavern filled with crates and Lucifer’s men. More lights hung from the ceiling of the cavern, and at the very back was what could only be described as throne. Lucifer himself sat on the throne, surrounded by old computers and hanging wires and cloaked in shadows. Even from the shadows Hank could recognize the form of the man whose picture they all studied for those many weeks.
Lucifer’s men began to fire their guns at the mutants, but Erik held out his hand and stopped the bullets. A floating wall started to form out of the bullets as Erik strode forward confidently. Lucifer called out to the room “Kill them! Kill them all this instant!”
“Sean?” Erik asked, opening the wall of bullets slightly so that Sean could step forward. The air rippled from Sean’s mouth as he opened his mouth, releasing a sonic scream that tore through the guards.
“It’s taking everything I have to keep him out of our minds,” Charles said. “We need to stop him now.”
That was all Hank needed to hear. His fear melted off of him and the path to Lucifer became clear. Hank leapt up to the cavern wall, bouncing off it and swinging from a string of hanging lights. He flew through the air and landed in front of Lucifer’s throne, closing in on the criminal mutant. Lucifer stood from his throne and Hank saw into his black eyes before freezing in place.
“Hank!” Charles called out. The call did little good. Hank turned around, a man possessed, and Lucifer laughed as Hank charged at his compatriots. Erik pushed his hands forward and the wall of bullets curled around Hank and began to squeeze together. Erik struggled to contain Hank’s animal strength.
“Sean, put him down!” Erik called out. “Sean?” Erik turned to find Sean stumbling backwards, blinking rapidly. As Lucifer dug into his mind, Sean threw his head back and released a scream that filled the room in its entirety. The walls shook and dust filled the air. A rumbling began that surrounded the cavern. The look of pleasure of Lucifer’s face disappeared.
“You fools! You’re going to kill us all!” Lucifer yelled.
A boulder from the side of the cavern loosened from its place and fell toward Charles, but Erik threw out his hand and pushed Charles from its path. Charles watched as the boulder crushed into the place he was formerly standing, and his bewilderment turned to determination as the reality of what could have happened sunk in. “No more,” Charles said to himself. He then repeated himself, calling out to the room, “No more!” Lucifer released a cry of pain. “We are better than this! Humanity will not evolve into petty thieves and criminals.”
Lucifer dropped to his knees. Hank and Sean both slumped to the ground, their eyes in a haze. Erik looked over at Charles, whose eyes were locked on Lucifer in a death glare. Erik looked back at Lucifer and prepared to throw his knife.
A shot rang out from one of the guards and Lucifer dropped to the ground. The guard’s uniform shifted into a bluey hue and red hair sprang from his scalp. Raven stood in the guard’s place, but in a form Erik had never before seen. “He’s dead!” she called out. “Lucifer’s dead, we’ve got to get the hell out of here!”
Charles pushed himself up to his feet and Erik grabbed Hank and Sean magnetically. Ahead of everyone else Raven began sprinting and the men followed her, the cavern crumbling behind them. Charles raced up the stairs, his legs pumping as powerfully as they could.
The night sky stretched out in front of them as the cool air hit their face. The entrance to the mine crumbled behind them, and the panting of the mutants resounded around them.

REVIEW: KOTOBUKIYA 2099 SPIDER-MAN AGENT VENOM CARNAGE ARTFX+

REVIEW: KOTOBUKIYA 2099 SPIDER-MAN AGENT VENOM CARNAGE ARTFX+
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What follows below is a data bundle friendly review for everyone who is still fighting the data struggle. For those of you who are liberated, please have a look at the video above.
The Spider-Man line of statues by Kotobukiya has been one of my favourite offerings by the company.
Showcasing some of the most popular characters in the franchise the line has given some pocket friendly and display case enhancing figures.
In this review we will be looking at the last three statues in the line, namely Spider-Man 2099, Agent Venom and Carnage.
Anyway, as is always the case with statues, we will focus on the aesthetic appeal of each statue before rounding out our discussion of them with a look at the Aish-Factor.
Aesthetics
When we refer to Aesthetics, what we mean is the overall visual appeal of a figure. We consider what it looks like, the sculpt work as well as the overall paint applications.
I will discuss each statue in turn.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27808″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Agent Venom
Venom is one of Marvel’s most compelling characters and I am always intrigued by the different ways the publisher rejuvenates its characters.
Agent venom is one such example of this where Marvel took the Venom symbiote and bonded it to a classic Spider-Man supporting character Flash Thompson – now a war veteran.
This is probably the most uniquely designed figures in the line as it boasts various fine sculpted details including some differently textured parts on the armour. While there are various spike effects across the figure, these are pretty solid so you don’t need to worry about them breaking or anything like that.
I must confess that I wasn’t completely blown away with the “half twirl” choice in pose. Though, when you consider what they did with the rest of the line, it would have been a little boring to have this soldier of fortune/ victim of war character in yet another crouched pose. So with that being said I can accept it.
As far as paint work in concerned, as we saw with the Venom Statue a little while back, the statue is largely a “black-on-black” figure so you wouldn’t expect to be able to see too much fine detailing in a cursory inspection. However on closer inspection you notice that Kotobukiya applied some highlighting and different paints which creates that element of distinction.
I didn’t notice and bleeding or splotching in the finer details on the emblem either – with such an intricate design this is a welcome observation.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27816″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Spider-Man 2099
Miguel O’ Hara is a pretty interesting character. Born of the mind of Peter David and Rick Leonardi in 1992, we were introduced to a tortured, powerful and extremely engaging version of Spider-Man as part of Marvel’s 2099 imprint.
The sculpt of the figure showcases him in a crouched battle ready pose, his muscles tensed and bracing for a leap into action. I had some doubts about the pose as I felt it wasn’t as “spidery” as some of the other poses. However when kept in hand, I was satisfied that the figure had the look I expected.
The figure has a removable translucent “web Foil” that can be attached to the figure’s back.
As far as paint work is concerned, some folks who may have seen the character in the video game adaptations may argue that the suit should have a metallic lustre to be accurate. However, I feel that this would have detracted from the way the statue fits into the rest of the line so I prefer it this way.
I liked that Kotobukiya used a sort of “maroonish-red” meets  “purplish-bluey” blend of colours (that has to have been the worst description of the colour scheme ever, I know) as compared to a flat and basic red and blue colour scheme you would have expected.
I assure you, the colour choice has a top notch effect and the the shading work is on point.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27806″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Carnage
Ah yes, with Marvel’s editorial edict back in the day mandating that Venom had to be an anti-hero versus being a deranged homicidal psychopath, Marvel Introduced Carnage to the universe.
This figure showcases a berserk Carnage, likely in the throes of a murderous rampage.
Sculpt wise this is an interesting figure. It has a pretty dynamic edge to it with the flaring s in the throw. The only irritating thing with the figure itself is that the figure is quite top heavy and unless you use the included foot peg and magnetic base.
Aside from that I really loved the overall design and was particularly impressed with the giant scythe arm.
The paint work is a chaotic blend of reds, blacks and certain shades and highlights in the same palletes. The choice of colours and execution of the paint work lend to the “fluidly moist” look I have come to enjoy with the previously reviewed Venom statue as well.
To bring this segment into the home stretch I would have to say that these figures nail it in terms their Aesthetic appeal.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”27820″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]AISH!!! Factor
The “Aish-Factor” is a generic standard that evaluates where an item falls on the Eish versus Aish scale – with “Eish…” being a fail and “Aish!” being a major win.
Look, the truth is that when it comes to Kotobukiya, you can expect to receive a high quality piece at a decent a price point. So as far as those two issues are concerned all three figures described here make the grade.
If we are really nit-picking I suppose that there are some design choices that I would probably not have made – such as the Carnage legs which create a bit of a balancing problem and the ballerina twirl pose on the Agent Venom.
However, when you look at the pieces in the context of the entire line and the characters themselves, the poses make sense so I can’t be too upset about it.
I should mention that each statue includes the metal disk magnetic base. I would probably avoid scraping the magnets across the base just to be on the safe side.
The display bases referred to are the only accessories included which is the base line of my primary gripe with Kotobukiya: Inconsistency with accessories!
Some kotobukiya releases (e.g. Star wars figures) come packaged with multiple accessories that allow you to have a range of different looks for a character. I wish we could have received addition sculpted pieces to vary the poses – perhaps a mid-transformation/unmasked heads or detachable weblines etc.
Still though, I can’t fault the design and appeal of the specific figures under review so suffice to say that I am pretty satisfied with the way the line turned out as all the characters are well designed and marvellously rendered.
In so far as the render is concerned, I have previously stated that I felt that some of the statues are a little on the small side.
Now that the line is complete, I realise that this is to accommodate for the proper scaling of the characters in the range overall and I have to say that while I do believe that they are a little small, it isn’t a train smash.
I’m pretty happy with the figures reviewed and the line overall.
As I said before, for full details be sure to watch the video review embedded in this write up.
For now though, suffice to say that this statue elicits a resounding Aish!!![/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”27818,27817,27815,27814,27813,27812,27810,27809,27808,27807,27805,27804″][vc_column_text]

Time for the forth part to the Yukari Takeover! I was SO excited to see that this theme didn't get prematurely cut off because I REALLY wanted to make a Space Cover of this! This came out surprisingly joyous sounding and I LOVE it!!! This feels magical in the childlike sort of way if that makes sense. Time for the third installment to the Yukari Takeover! Do not expect me to be on time with posting anything because there's SO MANY audios that need to be done. We will get there when we get there. It's Haunted Cover time! This one feels very stereotypically "scary," and I like it a lot!

Time for the emergency tenth and FINAL part to the Yukari Takeover! It's an Asteroid Cover because I feel like there hasn't been an Asteroid Cover in AGES! I was orginally just doing this theme as an expirement to see if it would sound good as an Asteroid Cover and it DOES! I am baised by the fact that this is my favourite Okina theme, but I LOVE THIS!!! Funny how OKINA of all people has to show up for the Yukari Takeover lol

Time for the 8th part to the Yukari Takeover! It's Strings Cover time once again! Despite this being brand new, this actually sounds like it could be from an older era of mine, around Post-Meiling maybe? It's not neary as complicated as some of my Strings Covers now, which isn't a bad thing. I knew I wanted to do Strings for Necrofantasia, and I'm happt with the result!

Time for the sixth part to the Yukari Takeover! It's Rock-esqe Cover time!!! I REALLY like this one! This feels like a small concert is happening somewhere and everyone's having a great time! I couldn't quite figure out how to properly end this one again, but I think I did better than my first attempt at this version of this theme

Time for the fifth track in the Yukari Takeover! It's another not-so-silly Seaside Shenannigan cover. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this one. Compared to some of the other ones I've already made, this one feels weak. It just doesn't have the sort of "majesty" (I guess) that suits Yukari best

Time for the sixth continuation of the Suwako Takeover! It's a Silly/RuneScape Cover! Someone reblogged my previous Silly Cover with some advice on how to make them sound more like RuneScape, so this one may sound a little different than the others. The most important thing to note here is that the Silly Covers are going to be slowed down from now on, instead of the usual sped up. Despite never playing OSRS, I think I got really close to the music style with this one!

Time for the fifth part to the Cirno Takeover event! It's Casino Cover time! Has it been a while since the last Casino Cover, because I honestly don't remember. I like this a lot! It's exactly what I wanted

Time for the third installment to the Komachi Takeover! It's time fore the not at ALL silly Silly Seaside Shennanign cover! This feels like an ominous battle against a giant ship and I LOVE it! The strings instruments and the bagpipe are giving this theme EXACTLY what It needs! This is where the Komachi Takeover starts to get REALLY good!!!

Time to post yet another audio for Eiki Day! This is a test to see if combinig my genres of Retro and Rock-esqe can work well together. I was going to make a poll and see if I should make Retrorock an official kind of cover, but I've decided that Retrorock needs to be a cover NOW. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH IT'S AMAZING!?!? I'm going to use Eiki's theme for testing purposes due to it being cut off early because of Beepbox's limitations, but I'm LOVING this!
