Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure we were never even promised ice cream if we won that science class pop quiz game. I think Ms. Hooker was just impressed with my ability to answer while barely checking my textbook (it was an open-book game) AND with no teammates to rely on and so just ran to the Dairy Queen a block away during lunch

Hello lovely 🧡
So so happy for your 500, you deserve all the good things.
Do you have anything from Chef's Kiss please? I remember reading it and wanting to devour everything you had (I thought there was maybe a sequel but I forget) and was so excited to see when you updated with From Fire to Fire a little later.
hi friend!!! I already cried about it last night but i have never ending gratitude for you and--YOU MADE ME MY OWN TAG ON YOUR BLOG??? WHO DOES THAT I CANNOT??? COMPREHEND???--your support.
Ah yes, my first born! Lol, for everything i write, there could easily be a sequel filled of one shots that take place in those worlds (i.e. for Chef's Kiss i had...one shots of sirius giving piano lessons to draco, study dates for r/s, a lot of jily...) but most of them never see the light of day and the world ends when the fic ends.
BUT--cut from chef's kiss, there was surprisingly not a lot cut? i was so nervous pushing this one out into the world that i didn't spend drifting off into lalaland. here's a deleted Jily though? (i actually have no deleted wolfstar from this, i'm sorry)
As Lily Evans got ready for her date, she was second guessing saying yes in the first place. Not in the usual way. Not in the way she usually regretted it, when she got ready to meet up with strangers from apps in bars or restaurants, that made her feel like she shouldn’t even bother and stay home. No, this was a different type of regret. This date with James Potter had her spinning already because it might actually go well. Lily knew she had the tiniest crush on him, she had since they first met all those months ago. But he was so unbelievably forward Lily thought he had been joking. That, and he was an ex-rugby player and she was placing judgements before he even opened his mouth. But James turned out to be nothing like she expected. He was good and unfailingly optimistic. He was smart, but not in the way that he made everyone else feel stupid it about it. Not in the way most men who studied business were. James had impeccable manners, and caught spiders in jars and took them outside rather than smashing them. He also had the terrible habit of making Lily feel like she was the only person in the room when they spoke. He listened so intently; he responded to texts quickly; and after he had asked her out and she accepted, he was quick to see if they could talk on the phone while they waited for their schedules to open up. Lily remembered that first phone call so clearly. She was in her room, having just gotten out of the shower when her phone started ringing.
“Hello?”
“Hi Lily.” said James, and she sat down on her bed, combing out her wet hair, “It’s James.”
“I know who’s calling me...I did save your number.”
“Is..is that a thing?” he asked, “Do some people not save numbers?”
“Usually if it's a bloke I meet on an app, they have to pass five dates before the number gets saved.”
“But we haven’t even had one.”
“I make exceptions, I suppose.” she told him, which sent the conversation down a path that had butterflies exploding in her stomach.
So here on this first date, that was weeks in the making, Lily had changed her outfit three times and had been staring at her hair for at least an hour, with no clearer vision as to how to style it. She walked out of the bathroom and to the living room where her roommate was on the couch, his hands over his ears as he read through a textbook. He looked up when she entered his peripherals.
"What do we think?" She asked
Remus looked at her and nodded, "You look nice."
"Adjectives, please, Lupin."
"Nice is one! Dress is...very green." He said
"I don’t know how to do my hair."
"I don’t know why you thought I would be helpful with that."
Lily sighed roughly, "Why couldn’t you be the good kind of gay?"
"Sorry. I’m sure Marlene has an opinion "
"She’s not answering! And neither did Dorcas. And neither did Alice or Sirius. You were a last resort. And clearly I need more friends."
"This makes much more sense." He said, "Okay, I’m going to try my best for you," he straightened on the couch, turning to look at her fully, "I think you should put some of it up." He said, "Because...dress is nice and your hair covers it."
"Curly...?"
"No, you’ll just complain about it falling later."
"Excellent point." She said, "Was that so hard?"
"It was actually. I feel like I deserve compensation."
"Let's not exaggerate." She said before disappearing into the bathroom once more to fix her hair. She tied half of it up into a small knot, taking a flat iron to the ends to curve them inwards, her long auburn hair falling below her chest. She took a breath as she put in her gold earrings she always wore. She did look nice. Lily also thought she looked beautiful in  green dress that fell just above her knee, made out of silky material. She knew it showed just the right amount of cleavage, and highlighted her waist. She had even put on a pair of heels, hoping the date was very stationary and didn’t involve dancing. She was also hoping (secretly) the date involved kissing and wanted to help with the height difference.
She touched up her mascara once more before grabbing her bag and walking out into the living room. Remus was texting this time, smiling a little as he looked at his phone.
"Dirty text? What’d he say, something about freshly pressed linens?" He was Remus’ boyfriend, who was conveniently best friends with James Potter. They lived together, even. He was also someone Remus had just finished patching things up with after a month that nearly ended in a break-up. Since then, Remus had been making more of an effort to reach out to Sirius. Lily saw Remus putting boundaries around studying where there weren’t any before and making time to watch Grey’s Anatomy in a timely manner with her and Sirius.
Remus laughed, "Organized sock drawer."
"Filthy." She said
"Have fun."
"Do we have a plan if it goes south?" she asked him. Every date Lily went on, Remus and/or Marlene were on standby to rescue her. She had used it a few times, sending SOS while she was in the bathroom, and before meeting James had been on a date where Marlene called her with a fake emergency and gave her an out.
"You can fake a burst pipe emergency."
"But he might want to come help."
"What makes you think James knows anything about plumbing?"
"Oh, absolutely nothing, but he would definitely come to support, he probably knows a plumber. Hell, Sirius is probably--"
"Shit you're right." Remus said, "Sirius fixed our showerheads."
"Is that why water pressure has been so much better?" And Remus nodded, "What was he doing in my shower?”
“He...happened to notice that mine was not...great.”
“What was he doing in your shower?” she asked innocently, knowing exactly why Sirius was in the shower instead of opting to go to his own much nicer home.
“Cleaning it, obviously,” Remus responded.
“With you there? I didn’t know scrubbing grout was a team activity.” she said and Remus noticeably flushed.
“ Anyway. ” he tried and cleared his throat.
“But also, logistically, how does that work because your shower isn’t exactly big. I’m surprised he fits into it but with--”
“I am not talking about this with you.” he said, “Point is, he saw my water pressure was off and then went into yours to investigate as well. Don’t worry, I did not accompany him.”
“Good to know.”
“How about...if it starts going badly, I can call and pretend to be your boss and say you need to cover a shift."
"Brilliant." She said, grabbing her keys off the hook by the door.
"Have fun.”
“Oh...we’ll see won’t we?” she asked and left her flat.
--
James had told her to meet him at his flat. She had been there countless times before and she assumed it was so he could drive to wherever they were going. Not that she was complaining--James drove a very nice car, and she was sure she was going to a very nice restaurant. One of the perks of dating someone who was financially stable in their twenties. She knocked at the door of Number 12 and waited. It took a little but eventually it opened, James on the other side with his messy hair and big smile. James was the type of handsome that Lily would’ve never had the courage to talk to if she met him in any other circumstance. The kind of handsome that usually never noticed her. He was tall and very fit--from years of playing sports in school and continuing an elaborate work-out routine into adulthood. He had smooth, deep golden skin, and hazel eyes that on a few occasions, she had got lost counting colors in them. He had a strong jaw and a straight nose, glasses suiting his face perfectly. She noticed he had dressed up slightly for the date, wearing burgundy trousers and a black dress shirt, dress shoes on his feet.
“Lily, hi,” he said, opening the door for her and she stepped in, “You look so incredibly beautiful.”
“Oh...thank you.” she said looking down and smoothing out her dress, “Should I take off my shoes or are we leaving soon?”
“We’re not leaving, but you don’t need to take your shoes off.”
“...is this not a date? Did I misinterpret something?”
He smiled widely at her and extended his hand, “Come with me.”
Lily put her hand on his reluctantly, letting James lead the way through their flat to the outside balcony, opening the door for her. The balcony, while usually clean and tidy, had been transformed into something different. There were fairy lights strung around the railing and along the walls, illuminating the table that had been covered in a white table cloth. There was a candle burning in the center, the table already set with wine and silverware. There was a record player nearby playing faint music, and Lily looked back at James shocked.
“Did you...do all this?” she asked
“I did,” he confirmed, his hand still connected to hers as he led her to the table. He pulled out her chair for her and she sat down, putting her bag on the back. He took a seat across from her, his smile looking even more charming in the candlelight.
“When you said to meet at your flat, I thought that meant you’d be driving us elsewhere.”
“We can go out if you’d rather, but...I think restaurants are distracting and I wanted to be able to hear you talk.”
Lily bit back a smile, “This is great, James. I just wasn’t expecting it.” Lily looked down at her plate to see a menu. It was clearly a homemade endeavor, white cardstock backed with blue construction paper. The meal was written in neat cursive writing. “Did you make these?”
“I had some help from the kids at work, I’m not very good at cutting straight lines. I know it doesn’t give you options like a real place but I chose things I remembered you saying you liked…”
Lily examined the menu. It was all of her favorite foods. From the main salmon course to the dessert option to the explanation of the wine in her glass. James had been paying attention way more than she gave him credit for, “This…”
“Too much?” he asked, “I made reservations just in case.”
“It’s lovely.” she told him, “And I can take my shoes off here so it’s even better. Did you order in?”
James laughed, “Sirius is...actually cooking. But I promise he won’t be around the whole time.”
“You hired your best friend to serve us?”
“Hired is...the wrong choice of words...uh, coerced might be better? Or even begged until he said yes? This is also his handwriting.” James said, “In exchange I’m doing laundry for the next month.”
“Worth it?”
“Definitely.” James gave her another smile, grabbing his glass. His contents were slightly darker than her own and fizzy. She lifted her glass off the table. “Cheers, to our first date.”
“And good trouble.” she added, taking a sip of the white wine. “Oh that's...really good.”
“Sirius picked it out, but that's probably a given.”
"Did you actually plan any of this?" She teased, "Sirius is cooking, picked the wine, that's his record player..."
"I picked the girl."

Ok so a few nights ago i said i wanted to talk about Chloe's relationship with the girls but i passed out right after posting it so before i passed out again for the night I'm just going to type this one out hhh
Tumblr media
I probably write this before (im going to dig through my archive later lol) but anyway I imagine that the girls doesn't really have an issue with Chloe and they could get along well. But I think they would have a bit of a trust issue initially (especially Buttercup) since they all have seen how awful Utonium's previous 2 relationship was (I mean hhh 1 just wanted to take an advantage of him while the other one made him neglectful and forget about them for a while)
Despite that, they're still polite to her (other than Buttercup shh im not trying to slander her i love my babey buttercup), they would greet her and engage in conversation with her. Blossom is a smart girl and I'm pretty sure she's trying to make herself sounds smart all the time just to make herself looks good lol. Chloe would entertain her smart talks and listening to her intently and asked her back some questions and she's so happy that she would listen to her yapping away about what she read in her textbook.
Bubbles is a bit timid, her voice is tiny when she talks to her at first but eventually she starts to feel comfortable around her when she sees her drawing one day and she tell her how pretty it looked. Bubbles likes to help her around the kitchen and her favorite is helping her baking because Chloe would let her taste bits od cookie dough.
Buttercup is a bit of a tough cookie to crack. She's not entirely rude to her but she prefer not talking to her at all and only reply a few words when it's necessary. Despite that, Chloe still tries her best to talk to her and include her in conversations whenever they're all together so she didn't missed out.
Simply put, I feel that Blossom and Bubbles would be more accepting of Chloe and it didn't take long for them to trust her because all they wanted is for their dad to be happy and have someone that could take care of him like he did to them and I'm sure
Buttercup actually would feel the same way too, but she's protective of Professor and the thought of him being either taken advantage of again or have their sisters being ignored again puts her guard up ;w;
I imagine that buttercup only slowly accepts and believes her when she see that she tries to be available for them and try to connect to them by bringing them out without their dad and even try to participate in their event. I like to think that one of the incident that kinda open her eyes is when she brought the kids out to pick up cake for Utonium's birthday and let them choose a gift at the gift and souvenir shop so they could give it to their dad. She wouldn't tell him that she bought it for him and tell them to promise her not to tell him about that and make up a little white lie about how the mayor paid them one time and thats how they bought it hhh.
Anyway, ashskwkqla i love them so much ahhh i just want them to hang out and do things together 😭😭😭😭
