JULY. shorter hair. a fan and a tiny bottle of refreshing scent kept within reach. dark chocolate ice cream or sorbet. reading Epicurus (learning and re-learning to savour life's pleasures). prosecco at dusk. dry brushing and scalp massages. fleeing the heat into the cool rooms of a museum. juicy-sticky fingers. reading Epicurus (trying to let go of the fear and anger towards death). cold showers at night. the scent of warm paperback books. a last trace of perfume in the fine hair at the back of the neck. reading Epicurus (thinking about God and friendship and joyful frugality).
