▼ - childhood headcanon lucy always wanted to do dance as a child but jude insisted that she learn an instrument instead because dance or sport would make her bulky. the heartfilia konzern had a tennis court on site and one of the servants who watched over lucy knew how to play, so she taught her to try get some of her excess energy out. she didn't get to become very good at it because she could only play when they knew jude wouldn't find them and she never had anyone her own size to play with but she had a lot of fun doing it. it got her outdoors, it got her being active and it had the fun bonus of being something her father definitely wouldn't have wanted her doing which made it feel enthralling in her rebellious era.
