ok, ok, im thinking what if sasuke didn't meet Itachi when he did 3:42 AM · Jul 7, 2017

what if sasuke managed to get to Naruto and Jiraiya and tell them "yo my psycho murdering brother is here for naruto" and there they left

no confrontation. nothing to set more rage in. just a bit of worry for his friend and he gets this… this desire to protect what he has

rather than avenge what he has lost. kakashi is very impressed with this brat and he's like "well you get stronger??"

Iruka smacks him like and is like "that's your will of fire." and sasuke, who kinda zoned out whenever iruka talked about that is like "???"

so iruka smiles (blinding kakashi) and explains to him what it is, and sasuke, the fucking moron, finally gets it, and he looks at them like

he sees sakura, smart, talented sakura, and iruka and kakashi as weird dads, and naruto, for all his stupidity, he looks at them like family

this is his family and he wants to protect them. he wants to keep them safe. they start looking at him funny, he's like "what?" he's crying

naruto's poking at him, sakura smiles, iruka smiles awkwardly and kakashi looks bored - relaxing when iruka holds his hand - and he's happy

it is the first of many emotional dinners at the ichiraku ramen stand.

sakura would realize they were all a family sometime after this, getting ramen with kakashi n iruka after naruto n sasuke left with jiraiya

they'd be chatting about a letter they received and all of a sudden it hits her - these guys are /her/ family too. its just not the boys

naruto literally does not put these feelings to words until he's about to marry hinata. the thoughts never come to him. he just /knows/

Iruka shamelessly decides to refer to them as his family like on the 5th dinner date. doesn't get the feels until after the chunin exams

doesn't start romantically thinking ab kakashi until it's just the two of them in his apartment drinking tea, ten months after he boys left

kakashi refuses to think of them anything more than tiny soldiers training to be killing machines.

but it's impossible with naruto dragging them to ichiraku and inviting iruka along and watching them all interact and fuck he's /fond/

he discovers that he will bend to iruka's will. if the man asks anything, kakashi /will share everything/ and it sucks bc gai's watching

so he's like "alright i have a thing for this man and i'm pretty sure he likes me because he's sticking around" and assumes they're mutual

after The Sasuke Crying At Ichiraku incident, he starts thinking ab it and is like "do i consider these people family" and he's like "i do"

imagine his shock when iruka turns to him one night like "kakashi, when did we start dating" "since the sasuke ichiraku incident?" "oh ok"

iruka starts laughing hysterically, through tears he says "you bastard, it's been a year, where's my first kiss" kakashi fucking dies

they're both on the floor, laughing, tears pooling in their eyes, and it's just so funny. they calm down and just /look/ at each other with

so much fondness n love, they're just spooning and giving so many kisses bc, and i quote, "365 days is a long time to go without any kisses"
