twelve is such a weird doctor to me because he's simultaneously underrated by the public and overrated by the fandom

#personal crap #doctor who #tbf you could say that about six and eight to a degree too #but i get the appeal of them and honestly i don't really with twelve #don't get me wrong capaldi's a great actor and gives the role his all but i just don't get what they were going for with twelve's character #plus he has a mix of a few fantastic episodes (mummy flatline face the raven and heaven sent) #a few really awful ones (the caretaker kill the moon hell bent) and the rest which are mostly meh #and he has my least favourite companion roster in new who: clara 'I'm the specialest person ever to be special' oswald #nardole (which is kinda personal distaste tbf because ever since i tried to watch little britain I've had a burning hatred of matt lucas) #and bill 'did i mention I'm black and a lesbian? what do you mean those aren't character traits?' potts #again those three did their best acting wise but most of their material was just lousy #sorry don't mind me ranting about twelve's era in the tags if you like it more power to you #but you baffle me /j
