how do you guys feel about the referenda regarding the honor code?
Response from Winnie P:
I’m going to vote to keep it the same! I think the honor code is one of the most attractive aspects of Princeton, and I really hope it doesn’t change. That said, I definitely encourage anyone who cares either way to vote – these types of referendums are definitely more important than USG elections.
Response from Bateman: I’m in favor of all proposed changes
Response from Pichu:
@winnie i don’t rly understand, the honor code is still gonna be there, it’s just going to be amended
Response from Holden Caulfield:
I support proposed changes to the Honor Code, too!!!
Response from Nick Carraway:
I’m actually not sure…I think the proposed changes may be too lax.
Response from Olivia Pope:
I support the proposed changes in part because of the negative impact that the current Honor Code constitution (or whatever it’s called) has on students’ mental health. The new referenda would allow students to be notified if they are actually the one at fault when they get an email for the honor code, would require more evidence before forcing people to take time off, would also significantly increase the threshold of proof in making decisions, and would place you on disciplinary probation before being suspended. The current system allows such a low burden of proof to drastically alter a students’ time at Princeton and possibly the rest of their lives. Idk why you wouldn’t want to change this system to allow actual justice to occur.
