day 2: Royalty/Knight @mcyt-yuri-week

False, a knight famous for her ability to slay magical beings, was sent by her king to defeat the greatest threat of all - the fae. Here, she enters the faerie realm and is greeted by none other than the queen herself, waiting upon her forest throne.

Having grown up on tales of the fae and their evil trickery, False is surprised by how beautiful and kind the queen is, but isn’t going to let down her guard yet.

Queen Stress is rather impressed by this mortal who not only managed to find her way into the faerie realm, but is also brave (and foolish) enough to try and fight her! She has no intention of hurting False, and instead wants to teach her the mischievous ways of the fairies, get her to lighten up a bit and all that. And, well, if she tries to court the handsome knight along the way, who can blame her?

watching Knight chuuya undress and dispose of his armour while you're waiting for him to crawl into bed beside you and you get the treat of seeing him in the skintight black covers they use under the amour, the slight turtle neck and watching as he rolls up his sleeves to put his hair up so it's not too tangled in the morning

getting to feel his hands wrap around your waist and pull you close to him as he mumbles in a groggy tone about how tired he is from work, how he's so glad he can come home to you. his hand traces up to cup your cheek, its slightly rough from combat, you can assume. but its so warm and he knows you enjoy it on you.

being pulled into a kiss and getting to feel him subconsciously wrap a hand around your neck, pulling you closer while he drums on the sides of your neck..... sigh ........

Watching his deft fingers undo all the clasps and straps holding his armour on, the heavy clanks of each piece as he sets them down, the gentle clinking of chainmail as he lifts it over his head. Stripping off the tunic he's wearing underneath and hastily shrugging on his bedclothes before he gets into bed with you. His hands are rough from training and yours rough with house and yardwork but neither of you mind, his fingers find their place around your neck and waist as he kisses you desperately, murmuring how much he missed you.

ok but im getting emo over heinkel again so im gonna talk about him again because yeah hes yet another sad character in a sea of sad characters and i love rezero for that but like he is a character consistently characterized by one loss after the other. it's a rollercoaster and its going straight fucking down and he is so miserable and absolutely alone and its both his fault and not his fault at all. but the way it starts is - its all out of his control. the more you think about the trajectory of his life the sadder it gets.

imagine you are heinkel and your parents are the sword saint and the sword demon and you come from a long line of knights and sword saints so thats almost definitely where youre headed, right? thats whats expected of you. you are nineteen years old and youre a knight in the royal guard, which was expected of you, and you have a wife and a beautiful baby boy, which was also expected of you, but at least you have so much joy and love for the latter while the former is just another chain on the astrea family line of people who are stuck to knighthood whether they like it or not. but your family is also just another chain because youre nineteen and your mother is still the sword saint and youre playing with fate here because either youre going to be the sword saint or your son will be.

your wife, the only equal you have, falls asleep one day and never wakes up. you are twenty-one years old and a single parent and then you are twenty-three years old and your son's fate is so much bigger than youll ever be. having the worlds love means that your love pales in comparison, doesnt it? everyone knows about your comatose wife because you keep searching so much for a cure that its just another thing to gossip about. every year that passes by she just continues to look the same as she did when she was awake and alive and loved you. (you dont know it yet but your son is going to reach the same age as her, because you dont find a cure for another sixteen years and you know that she wont love you anymore because who does? theres no one left because your son doesnt count.)

and everyone knows about you because of your family. because yeah, youre a good swordsman, but youre not liked by anyone in the knights. youre not a friend and youre certainly not a sword saint or sword demon. your son mind controls someone because he loves you so much that he would do anything for you and looks up to you like youre some hero, but youre just a wreck whos scrambling to keep what little you have. youre twenty-four and you lose your mom because you were too scared to go on the mission you were assigned on, because youre a coward and youre in over your head and you know, because everyone knows, that you dont measure up. you could never be prepared for this. in a long line of people who have to carry the weight of the world, you crumble easily. your mom goes on that mission and dies and your son becomes the sword saint like this was always going to happen. this is what being loved by the world means. you just killed your mom because you just couldnt suck it up and die on that mission instead. on top of that, your dad says that your five-year-old god of a son killed your mom. its just you and your son and the two of you both killed your mom but youre the worlds biggest laughing stock and your son is the up and coming hero and monster. but you still love your son. you really do.

Fic-to-Art #31: The five winners of Gladiator Brawl

This month's artwork is... maybe not so uplifting :'D Gladiator Brawl was a chaotic event, where Sokka and Toph, the most promising new gladiators, took on the old guard, The Millennium Dragon and Combustion Man, facing them in a very fierce battle. While Toph managed to keep Combustion Man on his toes, he also managed to deal damage, if not too seroius, that burned her even with her agility and defenses... whereas Sokka, driven by desperation, beat up the Millennium Dragon in a display much more violent than anything he had ever done in the Superior League to date.

While the idea by the patrons might have been to make this super epic... I can't really separate this scene from Sokka's anguish upon coming back to himself and realizing what he'd done. It's not only the way he hurt Renzhi, but how he impulsively slices off Combustion Man's prosthetic with his sword... he was basically giving some very strong signs of being A Menace in this arc, and a lot of people (notoriously, Combustion Man) certainly took this as a warning of how dangerous he truly was. Even so, Sokka didn't feel triumphant about what he did... even if this was a catalyst for more character growth for him, in the end.

Anyway! From left to right we have Combustion Man, Twist of Shadow (first time I draw her, she was the fifth winner!), Sokka, Toph and Ruan (the Sentinel Knight). Revisiting these moments of the story is certainly wild when I'm in the middle of writing and posting some MAJOR battles... and this was one of the big challenges, as far as mass battles were concerned, in the first two parts of the story. We've dialed up the action by a lot... but perhaps that's why it's good to return to the story's roots at times, and remember the foundations upon which our newer developments were built...

#they have been in my mind can you guess #but like listen #mr akehoshi died in a war led by seiya(king) 10 years ago and now subaru is following the steps of his father #so seiya has a soft spot for him although subaru hates the monarchy for that and onlydoes that bc its the best high income job he can do to #support his mother #also hokke just despises his monarchy duties and one day he is going out of the castle by himself and subaru is like what is this idiot doin #and subaru is like 'Hey you dumbass! where are you going on your own?' and hokke is like 'dont you know who i am? learn some manners before #speaking to me!!' and subaru is like 'of course i know who you are! you are stealing my horse where the hell are you going you clown of a #prince!!!!!! #and hokke ignores him but he actually doesnt know what he is doing so subaru just runs behind him #and after a while hokke gives up and explains that he doesn't want to be a prince so he decided to escape and subaru is like ?? this guy?? #and concludes it must be a rebellious phase because he was borned with a silver spoon and just wants to create problems for himself #so he tells him that the life outside the palace is horrible and hokke should appreaciate his life more. everyone would want to be the princ #hokke thinks for a moment and concludes that no. subaru is wrong. and subaru is starting to get annoyed so he sends hokke to the palace #(but in their argument he acutally stole some jewelry of hokke so he sells those to help shinonon the poor guy selling milk and newspaper #and the next day hokke goes to him like 'you stole from me give them back' and subaru is like 'i thought you wouldnt notice. you dont need #them anyway' #and they start arguing again. #chiaki (subaru's knight trainer) sees them and later says to subaru that they seem close #and subaru is like 'no we dont!! he is a selfish jerk who only thinks of himself!' and chiaki thinks he is the only person subaru has gotten #close to #bc hokke doesn't like interacting with guards or maids or anything that has to do with the castle either #so chiaki is like me thinks #so they keep doing sbhk shenanigans and they mutually warm up to each other #at one point hokke brings jewels to subaru personally so he can sell them in the city and sometimes subaru bri #subaru brings hokke to the city in some of their getaways. normal citicens dont know he is the prince just some noble bc of his clothes and #good manners. which subaru doesnt have. #at some point hokke is impressed by subaru's knowledge and he confesses that his father used to steal books from the royal library and then #thought him and his mother and it makes hokke think that they are quite similar #mr hidaka seiya is pretty glad hokke is getting along with subaru since he appreciated mr akehoshi a lot

As anticipated, here's some random tidbits about Ackley and Oron, the two silliest and goodest boys in my fan OC arsenal :D The info here isn't in any particular order (°▽°)/

Ackley:

Ackley is the cool-headed mercenary of the colony, hired to fight alongside them or run recon and gather intel. He joined their ranks not because of pay, but because both he and the other knights he works with share the same goal: to get rid of those annoying little dark essence creatures.

A while back, Ackley had a bit of a violent run-in with a man named Metus. He was travelling through a planet when he got captured by Metus' subordinates and brought to his lair. Metus had known of Ackley's exploits and how much of an effective warrior he was, especially with the help of those interesting wings of his... He gave Ackley an ultimatum: either join him (which would most likely require him to kill off his own kind), or suffer the consequences. Ackley wasn't interested. And so, off goes the ends of his wings (sawn off roughly at the wrist joint). The whole ordeal made his wings go mostly numb from nerve damage, as well as giving him occasional phantom pains. Injured and on the verge of passing out, Ackley manages to escape and bumps into the colony. They patch him up and help him recover from his injuries, giving him medicine for the pain. Though he was too exhausted to speak, Ackley thanked them from the bottom of his heart, and vowed to crush Metus for what he had done to him. When he was offered a job with the colony, he accepted it almost immediately. Not only would this help him pay back his debt to them (/m), but it would also help offer him a straight line to Metus.

Whether its to cope with the trauma of his past or for some other reason, Ackley will occasionally light a cigarette to take the edge off. (I did make him smoke cuz I thought that it would be funny, but now I'm trying to fit it in with the plot). He doesn't like the taste of plain tobacco though, so he usually buys flavored ones.

He will often (jokingly) flirt with people he knows well (the vibes of it are kinda sorta like the whole "kiss the homies goodnight" thing).

Ackley has a habit of not taking things very seriously. He often treats battle as some sort of game and make jokes of things, even if its serious. (Though, if its serious enough [like murder], he wont be as likely to make light of it).

He had once looked at a portrait of Oron. He thought that he looked handsome. (the portrait had somehow come up in a conversation he was having with one of the colony's members. The colony member took him to Oron's memorial where the portrait was being kept.)

A pastime of his is stargazing!

Oron:

Oron is the chivalrous and kind-hearted elite knight who served directly under Empress Vita alongside Yumi (they were, in some aspects, like retainers). Many knights often looked up to him, sometimes referring to him as a "fairytale knight*" due to his strict following to the guidelines of chivalry and exemplary behavior both on and off of the battlefield. Civilian women within the colony also took quite a liking to Oron due to this fact, often sending him gifts or flowers (mostly as platonic tokens of appreciation, though some women would send him gifts to try and woo him).

He had died during the events of The Great Raid, and now his soul roams the Azure Plane**.

To elaborate on the previous point, he had perished while he was defending the Empress from the corrupt invaders storming the palace. One of the creatures had gotten a pretty good hit on him, leaving a large gash in his side. He ultimately died of blood loss. (Fortunately his death wasn't in vain! The Empress was saved and unhurt thanks to his efforts!)

A small statue of Oron (that serves as a monument) lies on Draconis, the planet the colony currently lives on.

Oron has golden retriever energy! He is a very happy and pleasant person in general. He also gets easily excited about things. Many people have noted him as having some kind of "sunshiny aura."

When Oron talks or writes, he almost never uses contractions. There isn't any real known reason for this; it just seems to be a little quirk of his.

He often roams around the Azure Plane aimlessly, looking for opportunities to keep his sword skills sharp (he often practices on trees) or for other things to do to pass the time. Occasionally, an entity known as Mors will appear and speak with him for a while; he always enjoys her company!

One time, Oron was allowed to peek into the living world. He was surprised to see that the landscape had changed drastically. When he asked Mors about it, she stated that his home planet had been destroyed, and that the planet he was now looking at was Draconis. After that, Oron went silent for several days, almost as if he were in a state of mourning.

*Historically, knights did not always follow all the tenets of chivalry, often assaulting peasant women and rich widows as well as abusing their status and power as a knight. That being said, Oron is referred to by this name due to his almost unrealistically ideal nature as a warrior. In other words, he acts just like how a "proper" knight would act, or how knights in fairy tales or other fictional stories/legends would behave.

**The Azure Plane is a place that I can only describe as limbo. It is a hazy, plains-like environment that is devoid of any (intact) structures. Souls who still have unfinished business or unfulfilled wishes are normally transported here. Until their problems are dealt with, they remain in this desolate area, sometimes being driven mad by the isolation.

BONUS INFO!! :DD

Many people in the colony have mixed feelings on Ackley's smoking habit. They're glad that he doesn't do it very often (it takes him like a week to finish a pack; dontcha wish all smokers could be like that? /hj), but they are still very much concerned for his health. Ackley insists that he is fine, but they have their doubts...

Although beings sent to the Azure Plane are often isolated, this isn't to say there isn't ANYONE else around. The Plane is vast; spirits sent here are normally scattered about. It may take a while, but you could potentially run into other souls there.

Time does not pass in the Azure Plane. It is always midday.

Oron has no idea who Ackley is, but I think he would like him :D

Both Ackley and Oron have recurring nightmares about their respective traumatic incidents. :((

okay sitting at work so I’m working out shiloh, durge run edition. he already exists in another game as a literal villain (mob boss edition) so translating him into dark urge is a bit fun. one of his Big Things is that he’s a murderer but he has a strict honor code irt certain ways of fighting and killing so—I’d diagnose him.. lawful evil? and I’m playing him that the urges in act 1 kind of consume him a bit and take over, and he isn’t resisting them at all. it’s only once he goes into act 2 that he’ll begin to try and get them under control—not because he wants to rise above them but because he cannot tolerate being under the thumb of something else, or under the compulsion of something he doesn’t control completely, including his own impulses & deteriorating mind. gunning for taking the cult as his own and being minthara’s evil wife. also he’s 6’11”. 7’3” with the horns.

I feel like stirring up controversy so I’m just gonna say uh.  I didn’t enjoy Kirby: Right Back At Ya.  I mean, it was such a cultural reset for how this series really took off, and the games even occasionally throw references regularly from what I’ve seen.  And I played a number of kirby games, but not every single one. :D I would consider myself a kirby lore connoisseur is the right word even if the timeline is pretty confusing! 

I mean, Kirby was VERY CUTE and obviously wasn’t the problem.... it’s that everyone was personally just insufferable. 😭 Couldn’t stand Tiff or Tuff.  Texan king Dedede was pretty god-tier though as much as jerk-ass as he is.  mysterious mentor meta knight basically trying to be as cool and deadly as piccolo... I mean, I understand in universe MK is very powerful but my dude.  You’re the size of a soccer ball. No wonder that big wolf decimated you like you were a squeaky toy.

Random thing, but if you were to give all the Cookies with job descriptor names actual food/drink names, what would you name them?

Here, I’ll list some I was thinking

Alchemist Cookie —> Grape Cookie (because of her hair poofs)

Vampire Cookie —> I was initially thinking Apple Cookie (or maybe Apple Juice Cookie), given he kind of gave me apple vibes, but looking at him I’m not so sure. Honestly he reminds me more of strawberry syrup, so maybe Strawberry Syrup Cookie?

Wizard Cookie —> Ice Cream Cookie (since he looks like ice cream)
