Well you can look at this from two perspectives: 1. Marvel doesn't want to offend anyone, as a black man portraying a character called man ape would be insensitive and not right with the times (comic book characters change there name sometimes during certain time periods example being black panther name was changed to black leopard in the 70s) and its not really a big deal considering in alot of comic book live action adaptations the hero/villian comic name is sometimes not said ( example being vulture in Spider-Man homecoming and wonderwoman in well wonderwoman). And there the second perspective saying that marvel is being a bunch of politically correct sjw that need to to stop allowing offended people to rule and dictate how the make movies and right comics. What perspective do you believe is right? #blackpanther #manape #marvel #mcu #socialjusticewarrior #politcallycorrect #politcalcorrectness #whatdoyouthink

ManBlog2: (12-23-15) Semi-Serious: Why I Say ‘Happy Everything!’
Tumblr media
I will start this off my saying I am not religious or spiritual and leave it at that.  There’s no need for discussion because it shouldn’t matter what I ‘believe’.
I will continue this by saying: Happy Everything!
There’s quite a bit being made in this country of of political correctness.  Being PC is a big deal right now, and everyone is afraid everyone is going to offend everyone.  It started, I think, with racial slurs, and it has exploded since then.  I mean... racial slurs are bad: FACT.  You can’t/shouldn’t use them, and if you do use them, you damn well better make sure there’s no one around to offend.
But keep in mind: anyone could be affected with the Offended Bug.
You never know what race someone you don’t know super-well could be connected to; we live in a mixing pot.  You never know what sexual orientation someone could be sensitive to; it’s not written on the front of everyone’s shirt.  You don’t know what illnesses are close to someone’s heart.  You  don’t know everybody’s personal struggles.  When a person gets caught with their pants down because they said something offensive these days, more often than not, it’s unintentional, and that leads to a LOT of awkwardness.
There’s also quite a lot being made in this country regarding the “War on Christmas”.
  First and foremost: fuck that.
There’s no ‘War on Christmas’.  It’s a fallacy.  It’s ridiculous.  In the United States, everyone is allowed to believe whatever they want to believe and worship as they see fit as long as it doesn’t impede on anyone else’s right and ability to do the same.  It’s a cornerstone of the United States of America.  It’s very important.
The reason people think there is a ‘War on Christmas’ is because we’re becoming quite the diverse society.  It’s something we should be proud of.  We should be happy to have Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, LDS, and The Church of the Spaghetti Monster (but not Scientologists; fuck them, seriously) working together to create a functional society*.  No matter what you hear in the media, the vast majority of us are doing all right together.  Every day is a struggle, but that’s life; that’s how life works: get used to it.
(*functional society: everyone’s alive right now except for the dead people)
The problem is that ‘PC’ and the ‘War on Christmas’ both suck.  We’re so busy worrying about offending people that we’re offending people.  We’re so busy making sure every word that comes out of our mouths won’t offend anyone, and so busy making sure none of our actions display anything which may leave someone out or disparage anyone, that we’re cutting out the fabric of freedom.   I’ve seen Christmas gatherings no longer allowed/endorsed by businesses or schools.  I’ve seen employees no longer allowed to wish people a ‘Merry Christmas’.  Decorations are no longer allowed unless they’re neutral.  It’s terrible.  Not allowing people to celebrate a holiday because it might offend someone (PC) is no different than not allowing someone to believe and worship as they see fit (a cornerstone of the United States of America).   Starbucks got skewered earlier in the year because they put snowflakes on their cups.
FUCKING-- REALLY?!  YOU HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN BE OFFENDED BY SNOWFLAKES?!
Starbucks is a business that appeals to millions and millions of people, and this country is diverse (which we should be proud of).  Everyone’s pissed because they decided to go more ‘winter’ theme than ‘Christmas’?  It’s not a ‘War on Christmas’-move; it’s a business move.  Appeal to as many people as possible.  Has Starbucks ever said, “We’re a Christian company.  We have Christian beliefs and celebrate only Christian-things”?
The answer -- of course -- is “No.”  They’re a diverse company spread over lots of countries, employing lots of different people with lots of different belief systems.  They’re encouraging diversity because:
  A. they have lots of diversity     and   B. it’s smart for business.
It would cost a ridiculous amount of money to print out cups for every holiday and be ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to make sure they got the right cups into the right people’s hands.  Don’t shit on Starbucks.  At least not for that.  (I don’t even like Starbucks, and I think it’s stupid)
So we go back to my original comment: Happy Everything!
I don’t care about being PC, and as someone who isn’t religious/spiritual but does believe in everyone’s right to worship freely, I couldn’t possibly care less about why people celebrate the holiday they so choose to.  Holidays and special days in general are made to celebrate things.  They’re about spending quality time with family and friends, showing appreciation for them, and sharing a meal with them.  I do think it’s abhorrently sad we have to have [Special Day] for doing those things, but it’s reality.   I say, “Happy Everything!” for two reasons:
  1.  I do not care what you believe or worship, but I hope you do what you do with everything you have.  I hope it means everything to you.  I hope you defend your personal beliefs with aplomb and passion if they ever come under attack, and I hope nothing ever sways you from them.  Religion and belief and worship are very important parts of people’s lives, and I fully encourage and support people who have them.   It doesn’t matter what your belief system is (as long as it falls under how we, as Americans, define free religious worship: it can’t get in the way of others’ practicing theirs).  It doesn’t matter SO much to me, that I don’t want to know what your belief system is.  As adults, we’ve all got our own ‘thing’.  I don’t need to know what yours is to support you.  When I say, “Happy Everything!”, I’m not inviting you to tell me what your belief system is.  I’m avoiding that conversation purposefully because I don’t care.   And no one should care.   And if they do care, they damn well better not care more than you because you should care the most about your own damn belief system.  Trying to get someone else on the same page as you for a belief system isn’t possible.  Values between individuals vary widely, and whatever god you have means something different to every single person you encounter.  I’ve accepted this.
  2.  I DO want you to have a Happy Everything.  Why wouldn’t I?  Doesn’t matter what your religion is: I hope you’re happy.  I hope whatever it is is helping you through your life, your years, weeks, days and minutes... I hope it makes you happy.  I hope Christmas is happy for Christians.  I hope Chanukah is happy for Jews.  Mawlid al-Nabi was on December 12th this year, and I hope Muhammed’s birthday was great for Muslims (because Islam adheres to a lunar calendar for holidays, they tend to be a bit all over the place).  Happy Mahayana New Year to Buddhists on January 24th!  Hindus have holidays three days a week, which shows their priorities are in the right place... because...
If holidays are/should be about celebrating something with our families, showing our appreciation for them, sharing a meal and spending time together... maybe the Hindus have it right.  Maybe holidays should happen three times per week.
Or, conversely, maybe Jehova’s Witnesses have it right.  They celebrate NO holidays because they believe no day is more important than another, and that every single day is worth praising and valuing equally.
  But the truth is:
It doesn’t matter where your priorities are, as long as you know where they are.
Happy Everything, everyone!  I hope whatever it is you do or don’t do makes you happy!

Earthquakes are not attacking liberty, freedom, and one of our greatest symbols of progressive ideas. It is not a matter of valuing some lives over another. It is a matter of standing up against a powerful tyranny and nasty ideology.
