btw if you can reasonably own a car it's kind of a moral imperative for you to help out people who can't afford to own a vehicle.

obviously within reason: driving a friend an hour away might be more reasonable to you than doing that for a complete stranger, but just because you can ride above the filth and grime doesn't give you the right to pretend it doesn't exist.

give aid where you can.

I'm just thinking about the idea of the rich literally being carried above it all #color says shit #car centrism #class warfare #as much as I fight with my dad about specifics. he gave me an example to follow. stopping for people in the rain. helping out others. #I was driving an hour and a half to visit my parents yesterday and turned around to pick someone up #turns out he's headed to Texas to live with his mom and we chatted for a bit and idk. not virtue signaling but it feels good to help people #I own a car and my coworker can't take the bus home on closing shifts because they don't run that late. #why should she pay for an uber when I can take the fifteen minutes to drive her home? #I can afford a car and she cannot. I don't get to sit by and watch her struggle while I'm comfortable and happy. that's entirely fucked up #anyway. cars are a status symbol. we know that already. shitty urban pavement princess trucks especially #extend that understanding out further. use the privilege to help others. #anyway.
