#I just can't enjoy hearing swearing at all I'm sorry sjdhjdfh
Note
77, 101, and 26 for Spotify wrapped!
#77 is Color by Ellie Holcomb! this one is an... extremely unconventional sort of worship-ish song? I *think* it's meant to be about sacramental vision, or possibly about the experience of coming out of legalism, but I'm not quite sure? anyway, I do enjoy it and I did listen to it a good deal this year, mostly because I find it very intriguing and spent a lot of time trying to analyze the lyrics and figure out the exact meaning behind it πŸ˜‚ I really enjoy songs that throw the typical tropes and cliches for their genre out the window and try to come at things from a completely different direction, but they also cause me to become slightly fixated on them until I can fully analyze dissect and reassemble them lol
#101 is Sleepwalker by Of Monsters and Men, and this one is entirely Lu's fault sdkfjhsdkjfh
I think Lu had connected it to some characters/stories, I'm pretty sure it's on at least one of her playlists, so that's probably why it's on here.
(EDIT: wAIT OH MY WORD I KNOW WHY THIS ONE IS ON HERE IT'S BECAUSE OF NARVIN ISN'T IT SKDFJHDSKJFHKSJDHFKSHDFKHD)
(EDIT THE SECOND: wait ok I asked Lu and it's actually because of one of the ships from TXF. which makes sense, I do remember that now lol)
#26 is For Island Fires and Family by Dermot Kennedy, which I got slightly obsessed with for a brief period of time because of a few specific lines and the images and associations they conjured in my mind when I heard them (I think I was in the middle of writing something and it was channeling the exact vibes I needed for that project?) Dermot Kennedy paints such vivid and gorgeous word pictures with his lyrics, so I love them for that. plus there's a lot of great lines in his music that can be stolen for web weaves/aesthetic collages/fanfic titles hehehe.
