DC x DP Idea Thing #4
Dual-sided Rebirth AU (Official name pending)
Brain had this idea for over a week (or 2...) now, rent-free, but what if Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie all reincarnated as Harvey Dent's kids? Jazz and Dan are the old set of twins while Danny and Ellie are the younger set. Will all of them remember their past lives? I say majority of it.
This is before Harvey got scarred and became Two-Face and maybe the mother is someone before Gilda Dent? Idk, all I know is that all of them present as Metas despite neither Harvey or their mother had the meta trait (this is a case that Black Canary II falls under from what my research says), Danny and Ellie's powers showing from birth while Dan's and later Jazz's activated after.
Danny and Ellie were thought to be dead when they were born but they proved otherwise. Danny froze a nurse's hand while Ellie went into goop mode a few times. Later Dan and Jazz both set something on fire but for two completely different reasons, severity, and time. At least to say, Harvey here has a handful, especially if he was acting as a single parent here.
Harvey's gonna have a bit of a hard time first as a parent, regardless if this is pre-Two-Face era or not. Man here is (secretly) terrified at the thought of becoming like his father to his kids.
It takes a while but he gets used to the life of fatherhood despite also being busy as hell. The kids help out by behaving (as much as they can anyways), though, Jazz's powers do come in handy.
(She's like SCP-999 essentially here when she notices people are stressed in her proximity, for lack of better words. No one noticed she had powers till it manifested into harmless flames that had calming effects to it when nearby. With her powers + support from her and the rest of her siblings, they managed to delay Two-Face's debut for a while later on. But uh, yeah, her powers are gonna be very helpful for Harvey when Dan, Danny, and Ellie all gain more powers cause OOOOO BOY, blood pressure, am I right?)
Harvey becomes more motivated to get into Law after all his kid's powers were shown so they can be seen/treated as equals and not have Metas outright banned from Gotham especially, even though he keeps his kid's status as "metas" away from public knowledge. It later becomes an open secret though.
As stated earlier, the Two-Face debut is gonna be delayed. Jazz, Dan, Danny, and Ellie are gonna be very protective of their dad (and pa when they officially meet Harv) after the attack. Mother henning children. I feel like Dan's gonna empathize with both of them a lot in a way and have late-night talks with dad and pa about the darker thoughts they all have.
As much as they all tried, though, Two-Face is gonna make an appearance cause this is Gotham.
When Two-Face era begins, Harvey and Harv likely avoid the kids (even if Danny and Ellie are still teens while Jazz and Dan are in Uni) as their way of protecting them from overall villain stuff the two do despite all of them trying to reach out to him and supporting them, hoping they'll get better.
I'm ngl, I feel like Dan and Danny are gonna join the criminal business with their dad and pa (much to their protests) cause someone has to look out for them. Ellie joins in on occasions for chaos and shenanigans (cause yes) and Jazz is glaring at Arkham with so much contempt cause YOU AREN'T HELPING HER DAD AND PA PROPERLY! (As well as the other inmates but STILL- YOU CALL THAT PROPER MEDICAL PRACTICE- Jazz ends up burning at least something whenever anything about Arkham is brought up. Everyone in the family is scared cause her flames normally don't even singe a thing)
Jazz is creating her own practitioner-place therapy thing cause TO HELL WITH ARKHAM!
I... Honestly don't know what I'm writing here anymore. More exhausted then usual. Might add/edit later. Idk. Just- Reincarnation for Fenton Kids, Harvey being Gotham's original Famous Dad before Bruce (which speaking of- he's Uncle Bruce and Dan and Danny don't trust him which confuses Harvey and Harv), and just, angst, fluff, chaos, and shenanigans.

Chapter Six
(oh wow)
Danny couldn’t call off now, definitely not. He was watching his future wife walk down the aisle. He barely told the story, but he was supposed to get married before going out West but called off the day of. The wedding ended up not happening. The girl he was marrying wasn’t very kind to him, or anyone, for that matter. He couldn’t see himself spending any amount of time with her, he couldn’t subject himself to that, not for the rest of his life.
At least Lucy was nice. This couldn’t be so bad, even if he wouldn’t be completely happy with her. Having another person around couldn’t be so bad. Though it would be hard to hide his other relationship if Ron ends upcoming. He could worry about that later when he wasn’t at his wedding. Was it time to say his vows already? The priest was staring at him, it must be time. Wow, was he really zoned out the entire time?
“I, Daniel Peachy, take you, Lucille Blackwell, for my lawful wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. I will love and honor you all the days of my life."
He’d already memorized exactly what he had to say. Lucy said her vows as well, and the ring she would be wearing was blessed by the priest. Danny gently put it on her finger, and said a few bullshit words about commitment, like he was told to. The priest pronounced them husband and wife.
He was supposed to kiss her. He was supposed to kiss her, now.
She looked just as shocked as he did that this had come so soon. They leaned in and pecked each other. Good enough. They separated. The families clapped happily, and the priest was clearing his throat for the beginning of the closing remarks. Danny let out a sigh, he wanted to cry already. He already knew there wouldn’t be any kind of party, he would go home and Lucy would cook dinner for him. Or he would cook dinner for her, which is what he’d prefer. Danny quickly zoned out again, not even listening to the closing remarks. He felt someone pull on his pant leg.
“Uncle, can we go home now?” Vinnie’s voice knocked him out of his daze.
“Hm? Is it over?” He looked around, and it seemed like everyone had left, for the most part. Lucy’s mom was standing there, staring at him and Vinnie. He decided he should probably introduce himself, not wanting to seem rude to her. “Hi, ma’am.”
“Oh! Hello, sir. You should probably get on home, with your...son?”
“No, this is my nephew…”
“Oh. Well, okay. You’re my son-in-law now, Danny. You seem like a nice man.”
“Thank you, ma’am… what’s your name?” He asked, getting down and shaking her hand.
“Mrs. Blackwell, or Katerina. My husband is Richard, and I have a son named Fredrick.” She explained.
“Oh, okay… I’m glad you’re here, Katerina.” He said, with a small bow.
“Of course I’m here! It’s my daughter's wedding. But you should run on home, you don’t want to leave her behind.” She said with a small laugh.
“That’s right, sorry ma’am. Come on Vinnie, we’re goin’ home now!” He cried up to Vinnie, who ran over to him.
“Alright, Uncle.”
Danny slowly walked down to his house, a very sad expression on his face. Vinnie suddenly stopped walking and hugged Danny’s side.
“I’m sure it’ll be okay Uncle…”
“I… I don’t know, kid. I have to… let’s go somewhere together. Remember Hamish? We’re visitin’ him. Now.” Danny explained before picking up Vinnie and just bolting into the woods before someone saw him. He just ran, until he saw the house. He banged on Hamish’s door, and eventually, he answered.
“Danny? What is it-“
“This is Vinnie, Kendrick’s son. But I… I need your help.” Danny explained, quickly interrupting Hamish with his gasping and panting breaths. Running usually wasn’t so hard, but it was really hot and his big suit wasn’t helping.
“Come in, son,” Hamish said, as Danny put Vinnie down and they all went inside.
“What is it, son?” Danny heard Otis asked. But he couldn’t see him, he felt like he was about to pass out as he sat down. He was sobbing soon after.
“Shh… it’s okay, take a deep breath.” He heard Otis say, hugging him suddenly. He was getting a lot of hugs today.
“I don’t wanna… I don’t wanna be here. I wanna run again. I wanna see Ron. I miss him so much I wanna leave I don’t wanna be married please-“ he sobbed out, as Hamish hugged him as well. Danny was sobbing on them both now.
“Danny, it’ll be okay. I promise. I know you don’t wanna be married.” Otis said, trying to offer as much comfort as possible. Danny was taking shaky breaths, leaning on Otis. He was softly crying on his shoulder, and Hamish quickly let go of him, seeing that the child Danny had brought with him looked upset.
“Hey, kid. Who are you?” Hamish asked.
“I’m Vinnie. Uncle said my Pa’s name was Kendrick.”
“Oh. Well, I’m your Great Uncle, Hamish, then.” He explained.
“Why is Uncle Danny cryin’? I didn’t know men could cry like that.”
“Vinnie, have you ever cried?” Hamish asked.
“Yeah, why?”
“Cause all people cry, Vinnie. Including men. Your Uncle is upset right now. I thought Nancy was the one takin’ care of you?”
“Well, she didn’t like me. Apparently.” Vinnie explained.
“Oh, that’s awful, son. If old Uncle Danny becomes too much, you can always come here.”
“Alright, if you say so, Great Uncle. Who’s that other guy? Is that Otis, your homosexual lover?”
Hamish just paused and nearly laughed. He had a small smile on his face, though. He forgot how much he loved kids.
“Danny’s told you a lot about us, huh? Yeah, that’s my lover, Otis. He’s lovely.”
“He seems nice…” Vinnie said, looking at him and Danny, who was sobbing on his shoulder.
“He is, trust me,” Hamish said, patting the kid on the head. He examined Vinnie for a second. “You don’t look much like your Pa,” he said.
“I don’t?”
“Nah. But you’re a neat kid, Vinnie. Wanna see some crawfish?” Hamish asked.
“What are those?”
“I’ll show you, son, follow me.”
Danny on the other hand had managed to fall asleep. Otis was just glad he’d calmed down, as he got up and laid him down. He wasn’t sure how they would be able to get Danny and Vinnie back home, he couldn’t go back to town after all. He hadn’t been there in twenty years, and that wasn’t changing. He made some tea for himself and Hamish, as he waited for him and Vinnie to come back.
“Honey! Me and the kid got some crawfish for you!” Hamish yelled.
“Yeah, Mr. Otis!” Vinnie cried.
Otis smiled, but shushed them both, reminding them that Danny was still asleep. They both nodded.
“Can we go home soon?” Vinnie asked.
“Well, Dan’s gotta wake up. We can’t bring ya home, sorry.” Hamish explained, sipping his glass of tea.
“Oh,” Vinnie said, a little disappointed. He runs up to Danny and attempts to wake him up by shaking him a little.
“He’s a heavy sleeper, that probably ain’t gonna work,” Hamish explained, watching Vinnie. Otis was busy making the crawfish, boiling them in some water.
“Damn it! I wanna go home! Don’t you remember? That lady that he married is probably worried!”
“Kid! Language!” Otis exclaimed, but Hamish nodded a little.
“Alright, I agree. Let’s send you both home. But you guys can come over whenever you’d like, remember that.” Hamish said, grabbing some pots and standing above Danny, banging them together. This very quickly woke him up, as he shot awake and looked around.
“What?!” He yelled.
“It’s time to go home, Danny,” Hamish said, putting the pots away.
“Yeah, Uncle! I wanna go home!”
“...do I have to?” Danny asked.
“Yeah, you do,” Hamish said, grabbing Vinnie and putting him in Danny’s arms. “Go, before your wife tells your dad that you’re not there.” He looked very serious about this, which freaked Danny out a little, but he nodded.
“If you say so, Uncle,” Danny muttered, adjusting his grip on Vinnie and sighing, as he stood up and left the house, waving to them as he left. He looked at Vinnie, who looked like he was about to pass out. He started booking it back to town after that, and quickly arrived at his house, but hesitated when opening the door.
He sighed and decided that she couldn’t be too angry. He opened the door.
“Hello?” He called. But there wasn’t an answer. Was she not home? That was odd. He quickly put Vinnie to bed after changing him into his pajamas. He was still confused about Lucy. Where could she be? Was she talking to his father? God, she must be so mad at him for this. He felt like he was going to cry again when he heard the door open.
