My Useless Autistic Brain attempting to internalize every social rule: this is fine. This is normal physical touch even though I am significantly smaller than him and my shoulder feels numb. This is actually pleasant. He is expressing affection. He is saying "you are my coworker and I treat you like an equal even though you are younger and play a smaller part. Therefore I will express humor and companionship by aggressively slapping your shoulder"

#So the other day we were in the middle of a rehearsal for The Mystery of Edwin Drood and I tripped and fell flat on my face #And nearly got trampled by the ensemble in the middle of an intense dance #So everything blurred and I went blind for a second with adrenaline #And when I can think clearly again I see that our John Jasper is there #He's shielding me from the feet of the crowd #Holding my arms very tightly and making sure I could stand #Probably saved my life there #So basically I tripped and fell during Off To The Races #Could've easily been seriously injured by having my face or stomach stomped by a foot #But our John Jasper ran to support me #Hes an older member of the cast very friendly but intimidating just because he's our strongest singer and very talented #So I approached him later and said 'thanks for making sure I didn't die' #And he said 'that's my job HAHAHAHAHA!!!' and slapped my shoulder and the new social interaction made me temporarily bluescreen so yeah #actually autistic #theatre kid things #the mystery of edwin drood
