I'm freaking out, this is my first written Joel request. I'm dying.

I'm awoken to a hand resting on my hip but before I can panic and thrash around, reaching for my gun, Joel whispers in my ear.

"Just me." A shiver runs down my spine at the feeling of his lips against the shell of my ear and I grin, happy to be in bed with him, safe and sound.

"Jesus J, you scared me." I roll over in his arms, giving him a teasingly stern look and he cracks, a small smile slipping across his typically frowning, grumpy face.

"Sorry, didn't want to wake you." He nuzzles into me with a groan, tucking his face into the crook of my neck as he settles into the bed with a smile against my bare shoulder.

"You woke me." I giggle, reaching up to weave my fingers through his knotted curls, pulling small winces from him with every tangle I get through but he doesn't inch away, doesn't move, just stays in my grasp.

"'m sorry, go back to bed." He whispers, pressing individual kisses to my shoulder, then my neck, then my cheek, crawling all the way up to the side of my head but missing my lips all together. "All I could think about today was you." I huff, craning my head to look over at him, soft brown eyes shining back at me that don't appear to be tired at all, wide awake and staring at every expression that passes across my face.

"You told me to go back to sleep and now you're trying to romance me?" I giggle, flipping in his arms so I can wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him flush against me. "Where did all this southern hospitality come from, huh?"

"Shoot me for being a little nicer."

"Who taught you how to do that?"

"Ease up on me a bit, sweetheart." He whispers, nose bumping against mine but, again, he doesn't kiss me, just teases me from a millimeter away, lips practically brushing against mine.

"You know how much I love teasing you." I hum, finally pressing my lips against his in a much needed, long, drawn own kiss. He pecks my lips a few times, lingering with a small groan.

"Being alone together wasn't a good idea." He grips my hips with a firm grip and I grin wickedly, knowing exactly why he woke me up and was so kind to me.

"Because I bully you?"

"Because I love when you bully me.
