Huhu, now I'm curious about Alex and Willie meeting Alex's Oma and Opa for the ask game :D
Huhu zurück!!
This is also for @lyxchen who asked for the same fic
This fic is me trying to romantasize Germany and growing up in a tiny-ass village.
In this one Alex's mom is German (as she is in almost all my fics) and Alex lived with his grandparents to go to Kindergarten and elementary school in Germany. When the band is going on a Europe tour and have a stop in Germany somewhat close to where his grandparents still live, he and Willie (together for a couple years at this point) go and visit them for a night.
Alex properly introduces Willie to his grandparents, he shows them the house and the village he grew up in, and they're having a nice little trip into Alex's blessedly peaceful childhood (including Alex's childhood bedroom, basically unchanged since he moved out).
It's written from Willie's perspective so they're watching Alex exist in this familiar space, he's being introduced to this tiny part of Germany by someone who loves and cherishes and misses it dearly (and who he loves and cherishes too) (tiny spoiler: Willie wants to ask Alex's Oma and Opa for their blessing to marry Alex)
Have a snippet :)
“Alex!” A woman was standing in the doorway, short, lined face pulled into a wide smile, white-gray hair gathered in a claw clip. Her shirt was light green and slightly sparkly, matching the emerald green and brown weaved, straight skirt that ended just above her knee. She was standing in short heels, black, with a small bow at the front. “Du bist Zuhause.”
Willie felt Alex grip their hand a little tighter, and he smiled at his grandmother. “Hi Oma.”
The woman stepped outside and threw her arms around the boy, hugging him tight with all the strength her short body allowed. Alex let go of Willie’s hand to hug her back. Willie couldn’t help but smile at the sight that was his Alex, tall and strong, looking so small in the arms of a woman half his size, her hand cradling the back of his head like she had probably done when he was just a child. She hushed gentle words to him in quiet German and he nodded along. Willie couldn’t decipher them, but he knew they meant the world to Alex.
Take a look at my wips and send me a title that intrigues you 👀
