GoFundMe Update

So I needed to post an update that contains multiple pictures, so I decided to put all the info in 1 place and provide the link for an update. (You can only put 1 image in the update section on GFM, and I did not want to put multiple updates and flood everyone's email.) I wanted to create a fresh platform to put the info on so I just made this Tumblr.

Hello everyone, I'm publishing another update because there seems to be a communication issue between myself and the trust and safety team at GFM and they've asked me to make another update regarding use of funds. I was asked to post an update clarifying what I would be using the remaining funds for, and here's where the miscommunication is taking place. So I have spent my day compiling all of the information together that I have already sent go fund me, and have put all info together to the best of my abilities to provide some assurance to you, and clarification for them.

Here we go...

I have written out a list of all bank transactions from the day we flew to San Diego up to the day Amir and I flew home. I have sent, at minimum a screenshot of each listed transaction, what physical receipts I do have, and confirmation emails for every single transaction to the trust and safety team at GFM. The list I comprised for this update is A detailed list of what was purchased in relation to resources used finding Lateche.

Disclaimer: the dates listed on the next 3 pages I'm going to upload are not actual dates of the transaction. To avoid confusion or potential mistakes, I have written them down in the exact order that they show posted in my online banking account. I just wanted to clarify that I that I didn't just send GFM handwritten charges, I sent screenshots of my actual bank transactions. I'm just compiling a list to break down the charges and totals because there seems to be an issue with the sum on GFM's end.

I'm being told that I haven't sent expenses totaling over $7000 but I have. I'm not sure if the difficulty is coming from multiple uploads when I'm sending payment verification due to an attachment limit GFM has or something else, but I'm beyond frustrated, there's no phone support, so I'm gonna make this as painless as possible and try to not make this too long. At any rate since they are not seeing expenses totaling over $7000 they are wanting me to post an update to my donors stating what I plan to do with remaining funds and then leave a hold on the remaining funds for another 7 days to give any donors an opportunity to request a refund since the original purpose of the fundraiser was set up to find my daughter. However I keep explaining and providing documentation that we have spent more than the amount raised, and I really just want this chapter to end!

To begin I want to share with you that withdrawals stopped before a campaign was started to Spam report my GFM as fraud/scam Due to a banking verification error. The error being my GFM was under Cheryl Walker, however my bank account is still in my maiden name. My husband and I just got remarried got remarried in June after my mother passed away and it's my fault I should have updated my bank information already but I was able to get to a branch location in San Diego and I had a copy of our marriage certificate so they updated my account to Cheryl Walker. All the info I submitted from the bank was December 6 and the withdrawal hold notifications began December 1st. See screenshot below for documentation from my bank on 12/6.

Now in between December 1st and December 6th we all now know my daughter contacted me at 11:48 PM on December 3rd, we went and got her it was almost 1 AM by the time we got back to our hotel. I wasn't thinking about anything but her! I finally fell asleep around 5 AM and didn't wake up until 11:30 AM. Screenshot with time stamp below.

I didn't mean to sleep that long, I just had been running on little to no sleep for weeks but immediately upon waking up I contacted SGT Tien to notify police she was found safe. Screenshot for timestamp and verification.

After I notified the police I then contacted our advocacy team and to ask them to release a public statement saying our daughter was safe and no longer missing. I then went straight to my GFM, and posted an update notifying all of our donors that she was found safe!💞 Here's where we circle back to the bank verification error that paused withdrawals. On GFM's FAQ, It States that if you close a fundraiser without setting up withdrawals, refunds will be issued. This is the sole reason that I didn't shut down the the campaign right then. I had no idea that we were about to be it's about to be slandered and cyberbullied by a Twitter personality and his followers who spam reported our GFM as fraudulent. This caused us to be cut off from the only monetary source we had, and is STILL under review! This is frustrating and hurtful because I have been honest, transparent, and updated everyone as soon as I opened my eyes. I was excited to update the GFM community of the great news! Not only was I grateful of your kind words and encouragement, YOUR empathy and generosity is what made it possible for us to BE THERE!

I know that most of you know us and never questioned if this was real but for those of you who don't know us, I want you to know that you helped a mother, a family do everything we humanly could during one of the darkest times in our lives instead of crying on the couch across the country. You are very appreciated! You were not taken advantage of or scammed... you were in fact, the VERY thing that helped me keep my sanity through this! You enabled me to be active vs. just reactive and helpless🖤! That was a precious gift that I'll never forget!

I also feel that it's important to raise awareness about the experience. No one ever expects or is prepared to have a child (no matter their age) go missing. But I definitely never thought we would be would be attacked on every social media platform, slandered, exploited, cyberbullied, And to even have childhood abuse exposed to the world by these people. We also certainly didn't expect to be abandoned by our advocates the moment that started. Not to mention our advocates were the ones who introduced us to this Twitter personality that caused all of this chaos.

But... moving forward.. here are the itemized lists of bank transactions between Nov. 25 & Dec 10.

The following picture is a list of expenses used by Lateche's father Walter Cullum from our GFM.

The next photo is a breakdown of the funds we had to borrow from family just to cover the last days in a hotel while we worked out details to borrow MORE money to get home. These amounts should've been available for use, since I was following all guidelines... but they weren't and I told the SGT. I didn't know what we were gonna do, he sent me info to contact a homeless shelter...

So... the next 3 photos are part of what I wrote out today. It's now 4:35 am, I'm beyond exhausted and I believe it's easy enough to see clearly so I'm just going to upload them vs. converting to text.

OK so I fibbed I didn't realize there was a 10 photo upload limit here so I'll convert the last page.

Cont... Raiser page to harass me my family and our closest friends and supporters. It's not right... it's insidious, And I'm not feeling assisted by the trust and safety team at go fund me. So I spent the day writing to all of you... our donors. Even though some of us have never met, I know that at the very least you have a good heart, you aren't blind or numb to others in need, and you don't just talk about talk about it you acted!

So I'm again asking for your valuable support, not for more donations... the crisis is over we're just trying to move forward but we must conclude business with go fund me to do so. I'm hoping that this painfully long blog will clarify any questions or concerns that anyone may have after all the accusations, provide a sufficient source of expenses (just a reminder I sent go fund me actual receipts and banking transactions.) Is to clarify that there are no remaining funds, and we used them for exactly what we said we needed them for. As always I am available for any questions or concerns that our donors may have, and we wish you all Happy Holidays and that the Universe provides a swift return on your good karma.
