𝖔𝖕𝖊𝖓 𝖙𝖔: m/f/anyone 𝖕𝖑𝖔𝖙: your muse is an informant for Kale relating to a crime syndicate that’s been terrorizing the city, the cops aren’t doing much (they’re probably in the pocket of the crime syndicate) & Kale has never known when to butt out of things he shouldn’t be in so he plans on exposing them in an article & to the proper authorities outside the city.

Kaleb hadn’t been doing this meeting in secret thing for very long, he wasn’t exactly the most subtle of people and he certainly didn’t know how to leave things alone. The waitress had just laid out the copious amounts of food he had ordered before the other’s arrival and Kale was already elbow deep in the food. With a generous squirt of sriracha to his eggs and ham, Kale shot a glance up at the waitress to shake his head in response to her question whether or not he needed anything else, without looking he collected a big bite of ham and eggs onto his fork and shifted his gaze over to the other that had joined him. “Help yourself,” he offered in a mumbled tone before nodding toward the other plates of food that were on the table, if he had to Kale would eat all of it, that had been his original plan but in fear of seeming a little too rude to someone risking a lot to help him, Kale figured the least he could do was offer. "--or uh, get what you want, I guess." He added almost as an afterthought to buy them what they'd like instead of what he'd ordered for himself.
Plopping the fork into his mouth Kale chewed for a few moments before he nodded and swallowed. His back was to the wall but he was not without an escape, the reporter may not have done this whole thing as often as some others but he wasn’t an idiot. From where Kale sat he could see the entire diner, in the corner of the furthest booth from any window but he also had quick line to the back entrance and the bathrooms were he in need of a vanishing act. Warm and infinitely curious brown eyes lulled up from his plate to better look at the person now sat across from him, the urge to question whether or not they were absolutely sure they hadn’t been followed was shoved down into his throat with a gulp of black coffee. "You alright?" He questioned, glancing down at his plate again, trying to hide the genuine concern he had about this whole thing, it wouldn't take much to get rid of either one of them even if Kale had a better chance than most.
