Taichi talking about the ultra yoyos and how he trained so hard to master it only for the thing to stop being popular, and then how when he could show off to his troupe again but Banri picked it up in 5 mins and outshined him....
I think about it because Banri wasn’t exactly realizing he was “outshining” or “winning against Taichi”, he wasn’t in competition mode at this point, but it’s just what he does, he’s always good at what he picks up
so i think hearing Taichi clearly say how Banri made him feel unadequate was something and all
but anyway i’m thinking about it because i’m thinking about how in the New Year Event, when everyone participate to a “talent competition”, Banri ends up joining Taichi in a YoYo prestation where they ended up training together.
we don’t see anything doing on with that but i kinda wish we did? because Banri was aware then of how the fact he outshined Taichi affected him.
I want to know who first thought about the YoYo thing.. at which moment they decided to team up.
because i feel like it could have been Banri’s initiative to push Taichi’s talent forward. Because it is especially a Taichi thing and Taichi suffered from the fact no one wanted to see him do yoyo tricks once he learned later, and it’s giving him a room to show off again.
Besides once Banri seriously set himself in his role as a leader he also started to learn and be good at giving advices. (see how he helps Juza coordinate his action packed movement with his lines delivery). So he could both learn from Taichi while also prompting Taichi up.
idk i think about this a lot and it makes me so sad it’s not touched upon in the event in question because seeing them team up on something we know Banri made Taichi feel unadequate about, knowing how Banri has evolved, really makes it feel like Banri is trying to push Taichi back on the spotlight with the stuff he feels comfortable with and it makes me soft....
