“Can I see the pictures you have on your profile?” You look down to see Hyo nod, then slowly climb down from the tall ladder, multiple books still cradled in the crook of your arm.
Hyo pulls out her phone, opens the dating app, then shows you her profile.
The pictures aren’t terrible, but they aren’t great either. Although Hyo’s very good at taking photos for other people, it’s clear she hasn’t figured out her angles very well. She has a few taken at slightly awkward angles, but she also looks pretty good in them. You suppose it’s the advantage of being a more masculine woman–you can look good without even trying. And with Hyo already having naturally attractive features, she has a leg up.
“Okay, I already see a massive problem Hyo.” You look over at her, a frown settling on your lips. “You look like you’re scared of the camera in all your pictures.”

“No, the sunglasses make me look cool,” Hyo argues back, shaking her head. “Wait… they make me look cool, right?”
“Yes Hyo, they can make you look cool, but coupled with the way you dress and your deadpan attitude, it makes you seem cold through text,” you state. “Taking off your sunglasses will show a more human part of you. Besides, you have nice eyes, you shouldn’t hide them.”
“I don’t know…” Hyo trails off, touching the frames of her sunglasses. She shakes her head, “Okay, then tell me what else I can do to make myself more attractive to women.”
“Quite the interesting question to be asking my fiancée, Hyo.” Bada’s voice suddenly echoes through the library, her tall frame standing right next to the door. She has her arms crossed over her chest, and one eyebrow raised upward as she stares your bodyguard down.

“Hello,” she says, a natural and soft smile finding her lips easily as she approaches you. “I took a break and wanted to see you.”
“I’m glad you’re here.” You glance over at Hyo, who’s frozen still in her spot. “We were just talking about–”

the guy is most likely drunk, because he somehow still doesn't recognize you, or the fact that lusher has a gun that's just barely visible in its holster on her hip. so he keeps spitting out disgusting things, adding in a "bitch" here and there to you and lusher--
hyo steps up, standing in front of you and placing her hands over your ears so you don't hear what the man is saying, or see him, then gives the signal for lusher to do her worst.
she does so without another second of hesitation, punching the drunk man staight in the stomach, then in his face. when he lands on the floor she starts kicking him in the stomach over and over again--surprised that he still has the energy to spew vulgar things about you while getting the absolute shit beaten out of him.
tatter joins lusher, and breaking the man's nose with a particularly strong kick. they both taunt him, telling him that he'll suffer a fate worse than death for the things he said--the rest of the girls come in as well, with soweon being the last.
when they're done with him he looks like a lifeless shell of his former self, bruises and blood splattered all over him--he's basically unrecognizable.
so you think that they'd probably kill him now, right?
wrong.
lusher picks up the man and places him in the truck of the car, smiling at his terrified face while the other girls focus on comforting you and reassuring you that you'll be alright.

so since everyone knows that bada's from a chaebol family (if you don't know what that is i'll explain below the cut), just her presence alone would already intimidate the average person--even if they're moderately rich or influential, they'll never be on her level--never mind the fact that everyone also knows that bada runs some form of a mafia group. it's not exactly hidden, because if you're the average person, what are you doing to do about it? nothing.
so imagine that, perhaps you have a friend that somehow doesn't know about your union to bada--maybe they're more of a casual friend--this is about how it'd go.
"ah, it's so nice to see you again." you greet your friend. "this is my fiancée, lee bada."
bada steps up, her usual cold and professional demeanor shining through. "it's nice to meet you." she shakes hands with your friend, barely noticing the fact that they've begun to sweat, and their skin has turned about four shades paler. "and these are my most trusted staff," the bebe girls step forward, their usual upbeat disposition nowhere to be found--they're all strictly professional. "please trust them to keep you safe while you are in our home. they will do you no harm."

funny thought i had: Tatter deciding to get back at Lusher because she probably caused some sort of trouble like she always does by pranking her using Sowoen, telling Sowoen to pretend to want to talk to Lusher about something and tell her (all through an ear piece like in the spy movies) that she did “it” (ofc sowoen is clueless to what any of this means bc she’s our babie and the girls have done a good job at protecting her ears) and “it was so fun” and a bunch of other crazy things that just makes lusher go:

how do you feel bebe would be at a sleepover?? like i can see it as lusher suggesting it, and since the lee mansion is huge ykyk they actually have a theatre room that anyone barely uses… so everyone chills in there for the night and has a lot of wild fun!!! even hyo standing there either in her suit or cute pyjamas would be really funny and the girls would make fun of her for it 😭😭 hyo can never win poor girl

okay, here's an official deep dive on Hyo!!
this is her official face claim, kim hieora's appearance in bad and crazy!! (i actually haven't seen the show...lmfao)
full name: kim hyo
she's 5'8, making her slightly shorter than bada and lusher, has dark brown (black in low lighting) hair, fair skin, and is 25/26 years old (i haven't decided yet hehe).
style: she loves a super laid-back and casual style when she's not wearing her normal suit, which is basically almost never...
hobbies: ...she doesn't really have time for any... but if on the off chance she takes a day off (literally once in a blue moon) she enjoys reading!! she's an avid reader and loves history!! she did very well in her studies, but history was always hyo's strong suit!!
likes: she LOVESSSS chocolate. that might be her only weakness. she likes sweets in general but not to the extent that she likes chocolate. she also likes cold showers and cold weather.
dislikes: disappointing bada. i feel like i've beat this point into the ground but it's such an important part of hyo's character!!
i'm going to go into a small rant so you've been warned but...
i'm not sure if anyone picked up on it from AWOOL, but hyo is the daughter of chung-hee, bada's bodyguard when bada was younger. hyo always looked up to her father because he was so dedicated to his work and she thought that the idea of protecting another person is such a noble cause/job to choose in life. so when she grew up she idolized her father greatly, and the few times she met bada while she was young, she also grew to idolize her too. bada has always been strong and independent, even before the death of her mother, so when hyo got to see how she took charge in her life without being arrogant and using the influence of her parents, hyo was like "yeah, i want to be just like her."
adding onto that, the lees basically kept hyo's family afloat. they paid her father an incredible sum of money for his work, and before that hyo grew up very poor, so she was basically taken out of poverty by the lee family.
(let's also not forget that chung-hee and mr. lee were also best friends since like childhood, so naturally hyo appreciated him a lot)
so after her father retired, bada--still recovering from the lingering affects of her mother's death and having no trust in almost anyone, somehow managed to trust hyo (because she was chung-hee's daughter)--who was now much older, to become a part of bebe.
hyo wasn't bada's bodyguard although she wanted to be--lusher got that privilege--but the second you stepped into bada's life she was assigned to protect you, and after that hyo felt like that was her calling. to protect the person most precious to bada like ji-ah (the man who killed bada's mother) didn't do. because of all that, she greatly respects you and thinks of you as a little sister she has to protect with her life.

other things hyo dislikes includes, traitors--i'm sure you can guess why--snobby rich people, which in her line of work are literally everywhere so..., and people who disrespect those who have given them so much. in bloody knuckles, you'll see a bit of hyo's frustration with reader come out when she realizes that she lied to bada. she does, to an extent, understand and sympathize with reader's reasoning, but she sort of grows cold with her after that.
and before anyone starts to get any ideas, because i'm sure they will...hyo would never NEVER date reader or bada!! she thinks of reader as a little sister (not to mention bada is in LOVE LOVE with her and hyo would never betray bada like that), and bada is hyo's boss and someone she idolizes, she would never be in a relationship with either of them in the canon. and even out of canon bada is NOT hyo's type at all

Ooh now we know more about Hyo’s backstory, would love to know more about how you pictured the Bebe girls meeting Bada or how they all became part of Bebe! Did they go to the same school? Did their parents know each other? Have so many questions! Love reading about Bada and reader of course but the dynamics with the girls are so fun too.

for context, the age gap between the girls and bada is MUCH smaller in this au (bada is only a year older than lusher, and the rest of the girls are two to three years younger than bada)
i hinted to it in AWOOL, but all of the girls have been friends with her for a long time!! lusher especially--her family has always had close relations with the lee's mafia world--but the other girl's parents were business partners of the lees. however, they were actually NOT a part of the mafia business, but a part of the lee's public business, which is manufacturing and selling guns to firearm stores and sometimes the government/police (this is where we might have to use a bit of imagination lmfao). which i could go on a whole rant on how that's so advantageous for the lees and stuff...but this is about the girls so let's go back to them!
so although the girls had a connection to bada when they were younger, because it was nothing more than skin-deep business, the the other girls actually only officially met bada in middle school--bada was about to graduate to high school while the girls just barely entered middle school, but they kept in touch, which is why they really got close during high school. and they got even closer after bada's mother died. that marked the time when the girls started to become more aware of bada's family's mafia ties (although it wasn't necessarily hidden, but when you're the daughter of a chaebol family, who can tell old money from mafia money?) and each of the girls slowly started to rally around bada.
lusher was the first out of all the girls to decide not to go to college. she knew bada wouldn't be going to college and instead would pick up her parent's business, so naturally, she followed bada. her parents supported it, but bada did not. she didn't want to drag lusher into her dangerous lifestyle, but lusher being lusher, she stuck to bada like a fly trapped in honey.
and the rest of the girls, when they finished high school they knew they wanted to join bada and lusher as well. they all saw how badly the death of her mother affected her, and knew without people she knows and trusts by her side helping her out, she would not be able to remain sane.
again, with the enthusiastic agreement of their parents (they wanted some of that old money and mafia respect lmfao), they didn't attend college, and instead became bada's infamous "bebe" group, trained and ready to uphold her business for years to come.

reader is very much a badass...we'll be getting a full look of that in a chapter soon but...she doesn't get as violent so quickly like the girls.
but if she needs to, she'll defend all the girls with her life!! she has a certain skill asset that she'd for sure use--it'll be explained in the next chapter, i don't want to spoil anything just yet--but yes, there are definitely moments when she gets physical!!
